Hey, it’s Dan. Welcome back. This is I allegedly and got a lot to cover today because it’s just too expensive to have fun. Guys, life is expensive. It’s outrageous. And like the video subscribe to the channel. And today, Patriot Gold is going to sponsor this video. So let’s get right into it. It guys, right now, we are living through such an inflationary spike in our lives, but the thing that it’s affected the most, basically, is everything extra in our lives.

If you want to have fun, it’s costing you an arm and a leg right now. Now, this last summer, we saw a lot of people go to see Taylor Swift concerts. And the thing I love about stuff like this is, hey, do you know that Taylor Swift concerts went as high as $140 apiece? Well, that’s a lie, okay? Because the truth of this is that if you want to attend a concert and you want to sit facing the other direction behind the stage over there, you can get those $140 seats.

You can wait in line on ticketmaster. But if you want to attend the event, most likely you’re going to have to go through a ticket broker, and people paid thousands of dollars to sit in okay, seats to go see Taylor Swift. So all the concerts that people are going to right now cost an absolute fortune. Now you can sit there and say, dan, I don’t go to concerts.

I haven’t gone to concerts in 20 years. Whatever. Let’s start with amusement parks. Disneyland is an absolute fortune right now. If you want to go to Disneyland, it’s over $200 to attend Disneyland right now. Well, they lowered the price of kid tickets, but basically, you’re looking at almost $700 to have a day at Disneyland before you buy a soda, before you buy anything. And parking is outrageous, and it’s gotten completely out of control.

Okay? Now, who can afford that? Who can afford to do this? It used to be something that when you would go out I remember when I got divorced, I bought my kids the yearly pass so we could go as much as possible. My son tugging on my shirt would take me know, hey, take me, take me, take me. There were weeks that we went three times in a week because it was so reasonable and so inexpensive to get to the park.

We’d park at Downtown Disney and go inside, and it was reasonable. Now, there’s so many restrictions on those passes that it makes it so expensive and makes it not worth doing. Okay, so amusement parks are one of them. Now, there’s a reasonable amusement park, which is the San Diego Zoo here in Southern California. The zoo is only $69 to walk into. And the last time I went to the zoo, I’m like, wow, what a deal.

We’re walking in here for $69. It’s still a lot of money. It’s still up higher than the $54 that it was just two years ago. Everything is outrageous right now. Absolutely everything. So sporting events, tickets to the NFL. Oh, my gosh. What people are spending to go to an NFL game is absolutely outrageous, guys. I mean, it is incredible to spend hundreds of dollars and not sit in good seats your way up there with the people fighting now, isn’t that great? You get to go see your team beat up somebody else in the other team.

No, you’re seeing people beat up their own team. Anyways, I could go on about that for an hour, too, but it’s absolutely insane. What kind of entertainment is reasonable now? I like to go to the movies, so I have the Regal, I have the AMC app. I have all that stuff. And you have to pay for certain things. You get discounts on it. You can buy your tickets in advance and save a few bucks.

But man, oh, man, it is still almost $20 a ticket to go see a movie right now. How do you take the kids to movies right now? Parking at these venues is absolutely outrageous. Think about this. To park at a ram stadium, it can be $200. To park your car to get it remotely close, $200. I love baseball. The Los Angeles Angels, they raised their regular price of parking this year to $20 a ticket.

You can sit there and say, oh, that’s not that bad, Dan. No, it’s ridiculous, because it’s been $10 forever for absolutely ever, and it’s gone up. And what they did was they moved you back a section, so you have to walk. Now, when my late girlfriend was around and she had cancer and she had the handicap card, we could go and park fairly close, and it was a decent deal, but we still had to pay for that, and it’s still outrageous.

So I don’t know how people afford it. Now, to give you an idea of how expensive even baseball was this year, the seats next to me were owned by a Japanese travel agency. And I found this out because for three seasons, I did not have people that sat next to me that spoke a lick of English. They were all Japanese. And I finally had a guy that spoke English, and in three seasons, I’ve had four times that people spoke English sitting next to me, okay? So I always get the story on, hey, what’s going on? And you’re here.

What they would do is they would advertise those tickets in Japan because of Shohei Otani, and they would go out, and they would have the Southern California experience. You could come here, you could see a game, you could see Shohei, and hopefully he’ll be pitching that night that you’ll come into town. But I finally got somebody that spoke English, and they said, we paid $400. And I’m like, wow.

$400 for two tickets? No, $400 a ticket. They paid for that, like oh, my God, I should be selling my tickets to, you know so outrageous, guys. Absolutely outrageous. But how do you afford that? How does anybody afford that? It’s one thing to go on a lifetime vacation and go see Shohei Otani, your favorite player, but everything is expensive. Everything. The San Diego wild animal park had a banner year over, had millions of people go to it, and they say, that’s fairly reasonable.

But man, oh, man, everything is absolutely outrageous. The new sphere in Vegas. Think about this one. To park your car there on a night when there was nothing going on. They finally started charging people because so many people would set up a camera like I did a month or so ago when I was there and just film the thing. Well, no, you want to get remotely close now, and we’re closed.

It’s $20 to get in the parking lot. What are you doing standing here? You’re going to pay to stand there now to film that thing? If you’re not in your hotel room, you’re just walking around. That’s nuts, guys. That is absolutely outrageous. But if you go and you’re going to an event like the YouTube concert that was there, that opened it up, it’s $140 to valet park your car.

$140 to valet park your car. Who can afford stuff like this? Guys, who can afford stuff like this? So to just park your car in the sphere parking lot, that is outrageous. And that’s $100 american. Okay. I have so many people that reach out to me and say, dan, I’m starting to date right now, people reaching out to me and telling me this. How do you take people out reasonably? You don’t.

There’s no reasonable ways to go out and entertain yourself and take somebody out to know. I love the people that have the fast casual places like applebee’s and places like that. Like, what’s the other one? Macaroni grill. What’s the other never ending pasta place anyways? It’ll come to me. Olive Garden. Okay. These are not inexpensive anymore, guys. They’re not a deal to go eat there. You take two people, it’s $100.

You have a glass of wine. Whoa. Sorry. But anybody that goes out right now and is experiencing this, it’s outrageous, and you cannot afford it on an average. Let me know what you think about this so far. Let’s talk about our sponsor, patriot gold grove. Now. This just continues. The free air show in Huntington Beach this year was thirty dollars to fifty dollars to walk in during peak hours. You had to pay $40 a car up to $500 to get a premium spot. Is that insane? That’s just too expensive. No one can afford that. No one can afford any of this stuff. And I have single dads that write me and say, hey, what do you do to take your kids out for fun? That’s free.

Well, you guys, one thing living here in Southern California, there’s a thousand places you can take your kids. And one thing I always tell people is make sure you have a roll of quarters in the car and make sure you can pay for parking meters and things like that because you may not want to drive into the hotel and drop your car off and pay $35 to have your car valet.

But if you park on the street and you pump a few quarters into it, you can walk in the same beach that these other people get to pay for $1,500 a day. Everything is outrageous. This is going to be a bleak shopping season. You can sit there and believe the numbers that hey, listen, we had amazing numbers in September when it came to retail sales. That’s nonsense, guys.

It’s absolute nonsense. The majority of the companies that are doing well right now are the simple fact that they’ve had inflation, had to raise their prices. Everybody writes me about things that they buy, like, hey, Dan, I buy these box treats. I buy this for dessert. I go out and buy this. Everything is more expensive. There’s nothing that has not gone down at all and it’s all gone up substantially during this time.

So with that, you have to protect yourself every way you can. Kai got a fish. You have to protect yourself also from the online scams. And the one thing that I keep getting hit with is all the online scams that people have falled for. And somebody that recently just got wrote me on LinkedIn, we’re just going to call her Angie. And Angie had a work from home scam.

Hey, listen, job interviews. We want to hire you, okay? What you need to do is do you have this type of computer? Do you have this type of device to send over equipment? Okay? You need to buy all that. Here’s where you buy it from. So you buy it from this company, and then you need to send money in advance for training, and then you never hear from them again, which is sad, absolutely sad, because people go out and they borrow money to get themselves through stuff like this, and it’s absolutely a complete rip off.

The other thing that people have written me about lately is an overpayment. An overpayment where they get a check. And this is one of the oldest scams in the world where you get a cashier’s check online. Hey, listen, the checks for 1400, I know that we only owe you 900. Send us back the difference. And you go to your bank, and you send this person back the difference, overnight it, and then the bank finds out that the check is no good, and they take the money out of your account.

I know somebody that this just happened to, and they froze her account. So not only did she was she out the money, but she has no access to her account. And it’s been almost ten days for that. Be leery of this stuff. Do not let anybody that texts you do not respond to that in any way. If that’s click on here or do this. The state of Oregon has a new scam policy, and they’re warning people, hey, if anybody tells you to download this software, the software will steal the data off your phone.

And it’s so sophisticated right now that it will be able to get yourself access to your cell phone data, your passwords and things like that that you have stored in your phone. Do not do it. The state of New York has such a scam problem that they’re going out, and they are telling people that they have a form that you can fill out for all the scams that people are falling victim to.

Man, oh, man. It’s just too much, guys. It’s too much lately. But as people get more desperate and they want a little extra cash, there are no shortcuts. There are no shortcuts, guys. You want to go out and do affiliate marketing, you want to write a book, you want to do things like that. You can make money with things like that, but it doesn’t happen in seven days, okay? You have to go out and put the work in, just like getting a paycheck.

Things take time, and people don’t want that. Some people just don’t want to deal with the extra work, the extra time involved. So what’s reasonable in price? I don’t know. Nothing. I don’t know what you can do right now. That’s a good deal right now. Seriously. The national parks are outrageous. Hiking is outrageous. Biking is outrageous. Everybody that writes me tells me all the different problems that they have with their sport right now, whatever that is, because now, hey, my shoes that I used to get for $99 are $219 now.

That was the latest one. Wow, that seems a lot more than normal. Everything is out of control right now. You have to be a frugal shopper in everything that you do. And look for deals, look for coupons, look for days that you can save money to go to these amusement parks. Look at senior discounts. Look at having Grandma go with you and having her buy the tickets for you for stuff.

And I’m telling you, guys, just be resourceful when it comes to stuff like this right now, and you’ll be ahead of the game. Like the video. Hit the subscribe button. Email me at hello@iallegedly. com. But big problem, guys, that everybody keeps writing me about, and I just wanted to do a quick video this morning on this for you. So hope you guys are well, okay? Things like this walking on the pier, walking on the beach.

This is fabulous, guys, but, man, oh, man, it’s like Newport Beach. This is awful. Now how bad the homeless situation is down here and people sleeping on the sidewalks. It is brutal right now. Okay, so share your thoughts on everything. Onward and upward, guys. I’ll see you very soon. .
