Hey, it’s Dan. Welcome back. You’re watching. I allegedly, and I have breaking news for you because it’s the end of an era, guys. The 99 cent store is closing. All of them. 371 stores are going to be liquidated as of April 5. They’re going to start getting rid of the merchandise. They told the employees today that they’re done, finished down for the count. So absolutely tragic. Very, very sad, guys.

I’m in my local store right now, and I love this place, you know, but like everything else, it got destroyed when they were purchased. And the hedge funds get involved and they raise the prices. And I understand you can’t have, you know, 99 cent items anymore because they’re just done, okay? There’s just no such thing anymore as a 99 cent item. You know, everything here, dollar 29, you know, but this is, this is terrible, guys.

Think about this. 371 stores are going to close, and it’s a huge problem, guys. I mean, they are, you know, there’s thousands of people that are going to lose their jobs as a result of this. And the big problem here in California, profitability. They blame crime, the theft that they have at these stores. Read the story below from the LA Times and everything else. It is awful. Okay, so where do people go on a fixed budget to buy things? Where? Where do you go? Oh, they’ll go to dollar tree, Dan.

They’re done. Dollar tree. We joked about it earlier last week. The seven dollar tree. So it’s finished, guys. It’s absolutely finished. So, you know, terrible. Absolutely terrible. These poor people that work here, that’s the thing I’m most upset about. I really am. I really, really am. Because I talked to a couple of employees and they’re just, you know, sideswiped, devastated, you know, being told how great things are doing, and then they’re not, you know, it’s a complete disaster.

So it’s not good. So, you know what I mean? So what’s next, guys? What is next? Nobody wants to admit that things are, you know, precarious, to say the least. You know, one thing that I did for myself and for my business and for this channel, too, is I was really amazed at the information that I learned about the Great Depression and how the buildup to the Great Depression was.

Don’t worry, don’t worry. Don’t worry, don’t worry. And then it collapsed. Stock market started and then everything fell apart beyond that. And it’s very similar to what it is right now. And nobody wants to look at this. I get people that tell me how stupid I am. And it’s ridiculous. Everything’s great. Things are not that bad. They’re bad, guys. They’re awful. They’re absolutely awful. When you have a store like this that goes out of business, this is horrific, guys.

It’s absolutely horrific. You know, this store has seen better days. It’s been, you know, had better merchandise. But they’ve got luggage in the store now. And that’s what people wrote me about today to say, hey, listen, the place is selling luggage, Dan. It’s not what it used to be, you know, so nothing is. Ninety nine cents. I get it, guys. You know, but it’s done, guys. It’s finished.

They’re all done. Now, the big problem here in California, the thing that just was the kick to the groin was the $20 an hour, okay? Because you know what? They wanted the $20, too. Don’t. Don’t think they didn’t. Hey, this is not fair. We should get it, too. We can’t pay it, okay? Well, what do you mean you can’t pay it? Well, we’ll go out of business if we have to be forced to do this.

Guess what, guys? They did so. But the thing that they keep mentioning and every news story that I found about this that was sent to me was the crime problem and how they were just ripped off and how crime is such a huge, huge problem in these stores. So what are you going to do, guys? What are you going to do? This is it. It’s the end, guys.

You have to get yourself ready for what’s coming financially. What’s coming financially is going to be horrific. It’s going to be bad. Guys. I have companies that I’m telling you that do financial things in the negative. Foreclosures, evictions, they are getting. They’re skyrocketing right now. You’re going to see this completely escalate very quickly. But this place going out of business, it’s done, guys. This is the beginning of the end.

So, you know, tomorrow starts the liquidation. They have a liquidation company that comes in and this is sick because it’s just going to be pilfered and gone through and there won’t be anything left over from this. But if you need anything at the 99 cent store now, guys, because it’s done. So, you know. God, it’s just so sad. It really is. Look at this. Okay, so what’s next? What’s next? Nobody wants to look at that.

But how many people work here? Okay, ten. Okay. It’s almost 4000 people gonna lose their jobs. Guys, you know, it’s probably more. It’s probably 2025, you know, when you add them all up. But let me know, guys. Let me know what you think about this because we just haven’t seen anything yet. A couple other things that were sent to me in this late breaking story was, isn’t it funny? Ups and FedEx both announced that they’re going to charge a surcharge for three cities to do deliveries now.

Los Angeles, Chicago and New York. Huh. That’s interesting. Yeah, it’s too dangerous. Okay, so crime fest 2024 in those three cities, they’re done with. Okay. My son called me today and said, listen, Oakland’s gonna leave. And I have an opportunity to go to Oakland to see a game before they leave this season. And I said, not if it would save my life would I go to Oakland, California, for anything.

Okay. You don’t have enough weaponry. My friend, who is the only Oakland ace fan in southern California, said, please, let me talk your son out of this because of how dangerous it is. Okay. So again, well, dad, they’re never gonna be back there. Wouldn’t it be great to see it? No, no. Don’t you watch the news? I guess he doesn’t, being in college, so, you know. Anyways, place is about to close.

It’s done. Share your thoughts on this stuff. Okay. It’s just sad. Okay, but what’s next? What is next? If you don’t think that this $20 an hour debacle didn’t contribute to this, you’re kidding yourself, because it did, baby. This is it. Okay, so, you know, they still have things here, but they elected to shut this place down. So sorry, guys. It’s sad, you know, absolutely terrible. So share your thoughts on this.

But, you know, again, you know, workout stuff, $8. I mean, it’s still cheap, but it’s not what this place was built on, you know, and you got five dollar shoes and things like that. It just didn’t work. Just didn’t work. So let me know, guys. It’s absolutely sad. But there’s one other thing I want to show you before this video ends, because it was. Just blew me away.

But again, end of an era, guys. Let me know what you think about this. It’s very, very sad. How many of us have shopped here, you guys? Everybody did. Okay, so a little breaking news for everybody. That’s very, very tragic and sad. But most importantly, to the people on fixed income that rely on this place and to the employees, that’s what’s the worst part. Okay, let me know what you think about this.

So I was in Newport beach, and I was filming and pulled over to take a phone meeting and realized that I was about to run out of gas. So I drove past the first gas station, totally packed, and I didn’t want to make the left hand turn and wait. And then I came over here, and because of the age of the car, it’s got to have premium, which is now $6.

09 a gallon, guys. So, guys, everybody, oil prices are going up. Gas is going up. It’s absolutely through the roof right now. And if you think that, you know, oh, it’s going to go down and things are going to be great. You haven’t seen anything yet. We’re about to see, you know, war break out. That is only going to escalate now. And you’re going to see gas prices just go through the flipping roof.

So you haven’t seen anything yet, guys. Remember that. How do you budget for this? How do you add a dollar a gallon to your gas price right now? Tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me how the average person does that, because it’s killing people right now, and it’s going to make it so they have to make decisions on working or not working. I had somebody write me a letter about how him and his wife had a $100 on.

It was Wednesday and they don’t get paid until Monday. And they had $100. And he’s like, I’m gonna have to call in sick for work. What are we gonna do for this? How did we get in this situation? Things are just more expensive now than they were before. So that’s what you’re seeing, guys. Okay, so absolutely tragic. But 609 a gallon, guys, please don’t forget to hit the like button.

Please don’t forget to subscribe to the channel if you want to get a hold of me. Hello? And I allegedly, we ask this all the time. What is next? What’s going down next? Okay, the 99 cent store is down for the count. But again, it was so sad. They brought these people in. Hey, welcome to your 07:00 a. m. . Shift. Having these people work twelve and 14 hours a day at that store, okay? It’s horrific.

Horrific. And, oh, yeah, today, you know, you guys are done. So let me know what you think about this, okay? Reach out anytime, and I’ll see you guys very soon. I hope you enjoyed this. Okay? Good luck to everybody. We’re going to need it. .
