CBS2’s Kristy Kalishian shares what doctors know so far. It’s an infection that comes from the same fungus linked to conditions you may know of, like ringworm, jock itch, and athlete’s foot. What makes this case a little bit different is it is a type of ringworm that can cause more inflammatory-type lesions, and it can occur in the groin area or the genital area.

Dr. Avram Kaplan led the study and authored a report published in the journal JAMA Dermatology earlier this week on trichophytin mentagrophites type 7, or TM7. It’s a sexually transmitted infection that can appear like this in the groin area and can be itchy. So far, the one reported case in the U.S. is in New York City, a man in his 30s, the report says. It was reported in a journal, which tells you that it’s new. We’re still learning about it. Because it’s just this one case, I think we’re really starting to understand how could this have happened.

The study says the patient noticed itchy lesions after a trip to England, Greece, and California, where he said he had sex with multiple male partners. Listen, before we even continue to get into this, all right, before we get into this, let me say this. I believe in my core that the majority, because this new sexually transmitted ringworm, it’s crazy, right? I believe in my core that most of the diseases that we see proliferating around the United States of America literally comes from me being with men. Y’all keep on trying to convince us and tell us, oh, man, we need to support these people and all of that.

Y’all keep bringing all of these diseases over here. What do you mean? You always bring us something new. You’re always bringing something new. So you decided to go on a worldwide circle jerk. You went to all of these different countries to go sleep with random men. And now you coming back into the US talking about a guy ringworm specifically from a sexually transmitted diseases. Listen, listen, I got to put this at the feet of most men that most of the diseases that you see proliferating around comes from me and being with other men.

I believe that straight heterosexual men have a much lower chance of contracting a STD than a bisexual. I used, used to be gay. I went on a whirlwind. I was drunk this night. I believe that straight heterosexual men and women that are straight and heterosexual have a much, much, much lower chance of ever catching anything than a person that is just out here living la vida loca.
