Controversy Erupts as Musk/X Face Legal Battles with Nonprofits
In a twist of events that highlights the ongoing challenges faced by social media platforms, tech mogul Elon Musk has taken aim at the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) amid allegations of a significant drop in advertising revenue on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Musk’s accusations come hot on the heels of a lawsuit filed by X against the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), a nonprofit organization focused on monitoring hate speech and disinformation.
The Lawsuit Saga
Last month, X initiated legal proceedings against the CCDH, alleging that the nonprofit orchestrated a “scare campaign to drive away advertisers from the X platform.”
According to the suit, CCDH published reports accusing X of inadequately addressing hate speech and engaging in a series of unlawful acts to gain improper access to the platform’s data.
Musk’s Accusations
In a recent post on X, Musk pointed the finger at the ADL, accusing them of attempting to “kill this platform by falsely accusing it & me of being anti-Semitic.”
This accusation arose after the nonprofit reported a surge in hate speech on the platform following the reinstatement of previously banned accounts.
Musk didn’t stop there; he claimed that U.S. advertising revenue for X was “still down 60%, primarily due to pressure on advertisers by @ADL (that’s what advertisers tell us), so they almost succeeded in killing X/Twitter!”
Musk reiterated his stance on free speech while denouncing anti-Semitism.
The Broader Context
The Anti-Defamation League had previously published a report in May that revealed over 5,000 instances of “virulent antisemitism from 2,173 accounts” on Twitter after accounts were reinstated under Musk’s direction.
This report likely contributed to the ongoing friction between Musk and the ADL.
In response to a campaign seeking to ban the ADL from X, Musk suggested, “Perhaps we should run a poll on this?”
The situation continues to escalate as X faces legal battles on multiple fronts.
ADL’s Response
In a statement, an ADL spokesperson addressed the controversy without commenting directly on the legal threats.
The spokesperson noted, “ADL is unsurprised yet undeterred that antisemites, white supremacists, conspiracy theorists, and other trolls have launched a coordinated attack on our organization. This type of thing is nothing new.”
The spokesperson also highlighted the ADL’s commitment to fighting hate in all forms, emphasizing their dedication to ensuring the safety of Jewish communities and other marginalized groups.
The ADL’s involvement in the 60th Anniversary of the March on Washington and a meeting with X’s leadership seemed to have sparked the ire of these “hateful groups.”
As tensions continue to simmer between Elon Musk, X, and the ADL, the battle over free speech, hate speech, and platform accountability rages on in the world of social media.

The ADL was started and funded by Jewish organized criminal networks and has never been a legitimate group . Since the U.S. media empire is controlled by Jews, they have used their influence and power to suppress their criminality which includes their mass murder of Americans on 9-11 with the cooperation of Rumsfeld and Cheney and other traitors in our government. If Americans don’t wake up and reject the ADL and the rat lines they support like Epsteins child trafficking network and Hollywood rapists like Weinstein as well as the blackmail networks they continue to accept donations from, Americans will remain subservient to their false demands.
