Summary

➡ A former official from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) has released a report blaming gun dealers for gun trafficking. The report, funded by Everytown for Gun Safety, suggests that gun dealers are prioritizing profit over safety and contributing to illegal gun movement. However, the report has been criticized for not holding criminals accountable and for using data manipulatively to support its claims. The report’s critics argue that it is part of a broader agenda to advance gun control legislation and to impose stricter regulations on gun dealers.
➡ The article discusses concerns about increased regulations on gun dealers and buyers, suggesting that these measures aim to limit legal access to firearms. A former ATF official just declared war on gun dealers, and we’re not going to stay quiet because we’re not the problem. Patriots buckle up because today we’re going to dive into something that should make all of you, every American, furious. Every town for gun safety, the Bloomberg-funded, blood-sucking gun control machine just released a massive report blaming gun dealers for fueling gun trafficking. And here’s the part that outright should make you crazy, like steam should shoot out of your ears. The author of this anti-gun manifesto is a former ATF official, Mariana Mitchum, who walked straight out of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and right into Bloomberg’s gun control army.

The revolving door between government and gun control lobbying has never been clearer, never been bolder, and never been more dangerous. Today, I’m going to break down this report. It’s a long one, so I’ll give you the gist of it, and then I’ll link it below if you want to look through it yourself. I’ll expose its – explodes – I’ll expose its manipulative claims and show you exactly how the gun control lobby is weaponizing data to attack gun dealers, blaming law-abiding Americans, and justifying – or trying to justify – massive new regulations. Again, it’s not the criminal, ever.

It’s never, ever the criminal. Let’s get into it. The Everytown report starts with dramatic claims. I mean, the biggest claim is right at the beginning. They say, quote, gun trafficking is arming lethal violence around the country. The gun industry is not blameless. It is a key actor in the illegal movement of guns. That’s right from the report. That’s crazy. Oddly, they don’t mention Operation Fast and Furious, which was run by the same ATF that Mitchum just left. Hmm. And if you don’t know what that is, kids look it up. Now, right out of the gate, they frame gun dealers, not criminals, as the cause of violence.

They ignore the fact that federal law already criminalizes straw purchasing, trafficking, illegal resale, and possession by prohibited people. Instead, they imply that FFLs are willingly feeding crime to profit from gun trafficking. That’s not analysis. That’s a political narrative. They rely on ATF’s time-to-crime stats to claim that more than 930,000 firearms were likely trafficked between 2017 and 2023. And that’s right from the report. But here’s what they never say. The time-to-crime stats never prove trafficking. A gun used in a crime 12 months after its legal purchase doesn’t magically imply a dealer did anything wrong. It just means that a criminal stole it, bought it privately, or obtained it through other criminal methods that have nothing to do with gun stores.

But every town treats time-to-crime like gospel because it gives them the conclusion they already wanted. Now, the report admits that traffickers are overwhelmingly criminals. It says most recipients of trafficked firearms were prohibited persons. 88% had criminal convictions. So criminals are breaking the law. Great. We all know that. But instead of holding criminals responsible, the report says, quote, “…dealers become suppliers of trafficked guns, prioritizing profit over safety.” End quote. Really? Patriots, this is the heart of the agenda. They refuse to put responsibility on the actual lawbreakers. Instead, they blame the FFLs, the most regulated retail industry in the United States of America.

They’re inspected. They’re licensed. They’re monitored. And they’re punished for every clerical error under the sun. Why? Why would they do that to us? Because going after criminals doesn’t advance gun control legislation, and it removes some of their voters from the pool. But going after gun dealers advances their legislation, they highlight a trafficking case where one man bought multiple Glocks and trafficked them to Chicago. According to the report, he purchased 23 nearly identical Glock pistols from a single dealer. Newsflash, all of the Glocks, no matter what model, they’re nearly identical. And then they imply that the FFL should have known what he was going to do.

But what they don’t tell you is that dealers cannot deny a sale simply because someone buys more than one gun. Federal law is crystal clear about when a dealer must deny a sale. Every town wants FFLs to act as mind readers. They want gun stores to deny legal citizens purely based on feelings, guesswork, or red flags. And once that door opens, do you know what comes next? A government-mandated behavioral monitoring regime for gun purchasers. A backdoor registry. A surveillance state for gun buyers. That is the endgame. Patriots listen up, because when it comes to American-made firepower, nobody does it like CMMG.

All right, I know you see it. This is my favorite time of year. One of Tristar’s all-time best sellers is back with a new look. The new Smokey the Bear shirt. Only you can prevent tyranny. They are now in stock. They launched and grab them while you can, and they’re phenomenal. Just great stuff. I love the new design, but the message rings true still to this day. Let’s go back to this report. Now, this report claims that gun stores fuel trafficking because criminals steal guns from them. Yeah. The report said, quote, stolen from an FFL, 20,000 firearms.

Gun dealers fail to adequately secure their deadly inventory, end quote. Let me get this straight. If a criminal breaks into a store, smashes the cases and steals guns, or breaks into the safe and steals guns, every town blames the store. By that logic, if a criminal steals a car from a dealership and runs over somebody, it’s the dealership’s fault they’re responsible? Hmm. This is clown world logic at best. The ATF already has security recommendations for FFLs, but there is no federal requirement because stores vary drastically in size, layout, and resources. But every town wants all gun stores subjected to expensive one-size-fits-all mandates that will drive small shops out of business, which is exactly the point.

And that’s what they want. Less firearms retail establishments. Now, every town claims that guns flow from source states with weak laws to target states with strong laws. That’s what the report says. This is their favorite talking point. But let’s be blunt. If strong laws worked, then criminals wouldn’t need to import guns into those states to begin with, right? States like California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Illinois, they all have every gun law that Bloomberg ever dreamed of, and they still have high crime. They still have gang activity, and they still have massive demand in the black market, and that is never, ever, ever going to change.

This isn’t a policy failure. This is a reality that they refuse to acknowledge. Criminals do not care what the law says. It’s actually the definition of criminal. They don’t buy guns legally. They don’t wait for background checks. They don’t follow waiting periods. They don’t follow magazine bans. They don’t follow any restrictions that any politician can think of. Gun control laws restrict law-abiding citizens, not criminals. There’s never been one instance where a criminal’s gone into, say, a gun-free zone and said, ooh, I can’t bring this here, and we wouldn’t have all those incidents, would we? But the reason we have some of those incidents is because the good guys and gals can’t fight back.

And one of the most insulting parts of the report is the part where they say that gun dealers earned approximately $695 million from trafficked firearms, making it sound like that’s what they’re doing, that’s what their job is, that’s what their business model is. It’s fantasy math, and it’s pure propaganda. They take ATF’s time-to-crime assumptions, which don’t prove trafficking, then multiply it by average gun prices and claim dealers profited. Just an allegation. No proof. No evidence of dealer misconduct. Just math built on, math built on narrative. Now this is how you know that this report wasn’t written to inform anyone anything.

It was written to justify pre-planned regulatory crackdowns. Maybe not under this current administration, but it’s going to be brewing for the next one. And we already have witnessed the ATF still being an anti-gun organization under the self-proclaimed, most pro-2A friendly, the most 2A friendly Department of Justice in history, right? So it might not be right now, but it’s coming. This is why we have to stay vigilant. This entire report is dripping with insider knowledge of ATF processes. That’s because the author, like I said, Mariana Mitchum, used to be part of the agency responsible for regulating gun dealers.

The same agency pushing zero-tolerance policies to shut down FFLs over paperwork errors. Now she works for Everytown, which openly brags about getting FFLs shut down. See the coincidence? This is the exact kind of government-to-activist pipeline that our founders warned us about. Unelected bureaucrats using insider influence to strip citizens of their rights through regulation instead of legislation. This is why gun owners don’t trust the ATF. This is why zero-tolerance enraged the 2A community. And this is why we have to fight back. When you strip away the emotional language, the report’s recommendations boil down to this. More regulations on gun dealers, more power for ATF, more state-level requirements, more surveillance of gun buyers, and more barriers to legal gun purchases.

The end goal is obvious when you read this thing. Shrink the number of gun dealers, reduce legal access, crush the firearms ecosystem from the supply side. They can’t ban guns outright, so they’re going to go after the infrastructure that allows Americans to buy them. Patriots, this is why your voice matters. You have to get involved. The gun control lobby is running coordinated operations. From former ATF officials writing reports to Bloomberg funding them, the anti-gun politicians citing them, and then they use those findings to push bans, restrictions, and shutdowns. But the truth is simple. Gun dealers are not the problem.

Law-abiding citizens are not the problem. Criminals are the problem. Always have been. And no amount of Bloomberg paperwork or BS propaganda will change that. If you’re fired up like I am over this, hit the like button, share the video, and drop a comment. Let me know. Should former ATF officials be allowed to take jobs in the gun control lobby? Sound off below. Let me know. I want to read some of these. And as always, stand tall, stand proud, stay armed, and stay free.
