Steve, your patriot professor. Here to help you make sense of the madness as the far left desperately tries to stop the unstoppable rise of a new conservative agent you are making happen all over the world. If you want a front-row seat on how you’re changing the world in ways you never even imagined, make sure to smack that bell and subscribe button. Democrat representative Jared Golden of Maine has just shocked his colleagues, announcing that he will not seek reelection in 2026. This was a huge announcement precisely because it could shift the balance of power in Congress and that’s because Golden represents a very Republican-leaning district.
In fact, Maine’s second congressional district is the most Republican trending district held by any Democrat in the House. Trump won this district by nine points in 2024 while Golden barely scraped by with less than one percent. The Republican almost took him out, but that’s the power of incumbency. And I think he began to read the writing on the wall for this upcoming midterms. The Republicans are gunning for his seat and he ain’t that popular with Democrats either. He was the only House Democrat to vote with Republicans in favor of the Clean CR to keep the government open, which immediately, of course, provoked the ire of the far left that runs the Democrat Party.
And a far left primary challenger was immediately announced against him. And so he’s in a danged if you do danged if you don’t situation. He’s in a conservative district, so he has to vote at least to some degree in favor of the Trump agenda, which is the single greatest crime you could possibly commit against the left. And so he got this primary challenger and he’s just like, you know what? Hasta la vista. I’m out of here. I’m done. And he’s actually claiming that he’s leaving because he’s very concerned about the rise of political violence and incivility and dysfunction in Congress, as he said, not in his own party that just voted in this attorney general in Virginia who’s fantasizing about killing the children of his political opponents.
But this guy was also, yeah, he said he was out of here because of the rise of political violence in Congress, but he’s also facing a primary challenger from the left, a fellow by the name of Matt Dunlap, who’s been hammering him for not being liberal enough. And that is going to be an absolute disaster in a district that voted for Trump by nearly 10 points. So here’s the critical part in all of this. Golden’s departure removes the Democratic advantage of incumbency. And without incumbency for that district, that seat is ripe for the taking by the GOP.
In fact, the Cook political report already rated the seat as a total toss up. It was lean Democrat. Now it’s a complete toss up. Now Republicans have a very clear path to flip that seat red. Paula Page has already positioned himself as the GOP front runner and his credentials and main politics are very, very good. They make him very competitive. So for conservatives and Republicans nationwide, this is the opening we’re needing here. Maine’s second district represents exactly the kind of opportunity Republicans need to build on our House majority in 2026.
And of course, this is on top of all the redistricting and hopefully the Supreme Court overturning the VRA, which would give us 19 more seats all throughout the solid Red South. So this is a real turning point here. And it makes the big announcement, the big retirement announcement today from the Wicked Witch of the West herself, Nancy Pelosi, all the more sweet. She is finally done. Her reign of terror in D.C. And her extraordinary knack of getting all those stock picks right decade after decade is finally coming to a much deserved end.
Now, while for Pelosi, it was just a matter of her being, you know, like 190 years old over in the Senate, something else seems to be going on. You may remember that just a few months back, Dick Durbin, the 80 year old senator from Illinois, he came out of nowhere and said he too was leaving. He would not be seeking reelection 2026. And many analysts were arguing that his retirement really was while he was old, people expect him to run for or serve another term. So the retirement appeared to be something of an admission, an admission that the Democrats were indeed coming to the realization that they would not be taking back the Senate any time soon.
This is an inconvenient truth that the legacy media just loves to avoid telling its dwindling audience. Right now, Republicans are poised to hold at least 51 or 52 seats in the Senate and even add two or three with possible pickups in Georgia, Michigan and New Hampshire. In fact, the electoral map for the foreseeable future is a disaster for the Democrats. Not only do red states outnumber blue states, which all but locks the Democrats out of power in the Senate for at least the next decade, but the 2030 electoral reapportionment has Republicans gaining well over a dozen seats in Congress, all the while Democrats lose a proportionate number.
You see, so Durbin clearly sees the writing on the wall here. And of course, this is something like I said, the legacy media will never openly tell you just how tall of a task it is for Democrats to get back into power in the Senate. And that, that of course, is because the legacy media is just agenda driven activism wrapped up in the appearance of news. Fortunately, there is ground news. Ground news brings together headlines from over 50,000 news sources and makes it easy to understand what’s happening. But what really makes it powerful is the transparency with ground news.
You don’t just see the stories, you see the political bias behind every source, the ownership ties and the coverage breakdown across the spectrum. You know, one of my favorite features is the blind spot feed. It shows you which stories are blown up on one side of the aisle, but barely mentioned on the other. It’s the clearest way to see media bias in action. So for example, here’s a story the left is completely ignoring. As you can see, it’s about Department of Homeland Security confirming that Mexican cartels are paying bounties on ICE agents in Chicago.
So obviously, legacy media won’t touch this because they’d have to admit that sanctuary cities have now become safe havens for drug cartels. Now, of course, the right ignores its share of stories too, but with every story, ground news shows you the entire spectrum of who’s reporting from left, right and center, how reliable each source is, and who owns each outlet. It’s everything the corporate press doesn’t want you to see. Right now, you can get 40% off the manage plan, which gives you unlimited access to all the features that I personally use for about $5 a month.

Now, Golden Pelosi and Durbin are not the only Democrats skipping town. The ultra repulsive Jerry Nadler is done. And remember, Jerry Jasmine Crockett’s seat, an old man, Al Green’s seat, they’ve just been eliminated in Texas as redistricting. All together, upwards of 20 Democrats in the House and Senate are calling it quits, or in the case of Texas, seeing their seats disappear. And by the way, again, with these redistricting wars and Supreme Court’s expected overturning the VRA section two of the Voting Rights Act, which has been so thoroughly weaponized by the Democrats these last, four decades or so to drop racially segregated districts, that number promises to more than double.
But it’s not just retirements. Democrats are switching to Republicans at a rate, get this, of four to one. For every one Republican that switches to Democrats, four Democrats are switching to Republicans. I mean, it’s not even close. We saw it with all the Democrat mayors who were switching to the GOP during Jack Torelli’s campaign in New Jersey. We saw it recently with Kentucky State Senator Robin Webb. She was one of the few Kentucky Democrats left. Well, she just switched to the GOP. Florida’s top state Democrat, their Senate minority leader, their number one state Democrat, he just defected.
Well, he’s now an independent, but same with New York City Mayor Eric Adams. He left the Democrats. Uh, uh, so from mayors to police commissioners to state representatives, heck, even what’s her name? Jean-Marie Jean Pierre, the black LGBT person. That’s right. Even she has officially left the Democrats. We’re seeing this astonishing movement away from the Democrats, but in even larger movement of left to right, left to right. And the reason for that is because politicians are moving in the direction of their constituents. So just over the past year alone, over 1 million voters have switched from Democrat to Republican across 43 states.
1 million voters have left the Democrat party and have become Republicans just in the last year alone. So this isn’t just politicians. This is regular Americans saying enough is enough. And so despite the disappointment that clear disappointment, we all felt, uh, as a result of Tuesday’s election results, we, we can’t lose sight of the fundamentals here. We can’t lose sight of the fact that we are witnessing a political realignment of historical proportions. The data shows that roughly two thirds of party switchers are moving to the Republican party. They’re not becoming independence.
They’re registering as Republicans. That’s over 1 million new Republicans as compared to only about 600,000 new Democrats over the last year. It’s almost a two to one ratio. And get this, it’s happening literally everywhere, right? Suburban counties from Denver to Atlanta, medium sized counties like Harrisburg and Raleigh. And then we’re also seeing it at the macro level, the Democrats, biggest states, right? California, Illinois, New York. They’re all shrinking. They’re all losing population all the way. And believe me, New York is going to lose a lot of population over the next couple of years, right? They’re all losing population.
All the while Republican states are growing. I talked about that in our first video. Already real estate agents in Miami and South Florida are thanking New York voters for voting in Mamdani because they’re already seeing an approximate hundred million dollar increase in real estate. Blue states are shrinking. Red states are growing. If current trends continue, Democrat states, just because of losing population, could lose at least 12 house seats and electoral college votes to Republican states by 2030, by virtue of just this new census. So all of this suggests that again, as disappointing as Tuesday was, the momentum, the fundamentals are still solidly on our side.
And we’re seeing that with one vacant seat at a time. Remember my fiery clips that went viral? Well, they’ve returned. It’s called daily shot of truth in 60 seconds or less.
