Today on the channel, we are building the ultimate everyday carry kit. Everything systematically designed to work together seamlessly. That’s what we’re doing today. So stick with me. As usual in life, everything revolves around my pants. That’s a weird way to start a video, isn’t it? In all seriousness, though, we have built the ultimate EDC system. You see, here’s the problem with most everyday carry. People come on, they do the pocket dumps, they say, here’s everything that we keep in our pockets. But they forget one thing. What is the pocket that’s holding the gear? And that is what I’ve finally crafted for you today.

Some of the things that you’re going to want to keep in mind when you’re trying to craft the perfect EDC is you want things that are going to be lightweight, things that you’re actually going to use, things that are going to be accessible in a pinch, preferably with one hand, and things that are also going to be discreet. We have the ultimate pant, the best prepper pant, and do not commit the blasphemy of going down in the comment section and writing something about proper lightweight tactical pants or you will be banned for life.

This is the LA Police Gear Atlas STS Tactical Pant. This is by far the best tactical lightweight pant that money can buy. Why is this the ultimate prepper pant? We’ve done reviews of this particular pant before. In fact, I’ve probably talked about it in two or three dedicated videos now, but it bears repeating because there still isn’t anything better on the market. It’s a really durable material. Everything is ripstop. There’s even inserts for knee pads if you wanted to do some real John Wayne bad-ass tactical stuff. You know, all the pockets, lots of pockets, and they’re all flat.

The flatter, the better. Bet you never heard that before. Here, just in this one side of the leg, we have one, two, three, four of these pockets. But inside this pocket, which is gusseted, as you can see, but the sides aren’t gusseted. So it’s not like that bulky 90s car that people used to wear. This one actually has too many pockets inside. So you get some internal compartmentalization, which is very nice, and that’s going to come in handy for what I’m going to show you later. Everything is double stitched where it needs to be very durable.

It’s got some loops. It doesn’t have the ring loop that the proper lightweight tackle pants does, but it has the zipper pockets. Once you go zipper pockets, you just don’t go back. Okay, if you ever want something that you don’t want to lose, you need a zippered pocket. One of the great thing about these pants is they are very lightweight. It’s reinforced in the right spot so that there’s a nice rigid structure to the pants so it can support all this weight without sagging and feeling like, you know, it’s weighing it down.

For you guys who like to carry a sidearm in the States, these pants will be compatible with that. You can carry magazine clips in here if you wanted to. The actual pockets have reinforcements. If you wanted to put a knife in there, the actual carry clip will have reinforcements. So I’ve done this with all my pants that I’ve had of these for years, and there’s never been an issue with respect to any sort of tearing or chafing or defective aspects of this. Now, I’ve designed my EDC to work with these pants. Most of this stuff, because I love it so much, and I only sell what I myself use, we sell at CanadianPreparedness.com.

You can actually get a whole kit that includes all these things. You can obviously get the right pad size. We’ll talk about the socks. We’ll talk about the knife variations and the shirts and everything else. One thing I go for when I’m picking any preparedness item that I’m going to keep on my person at all times is a flat form factor. This is the Streamlight wedge. That flat form factor is so incredibly important. The other aspect that you want is something that is going to be discrete. That’s not going to stand out too much.

So you’ll notice that this pocket, this flashlight just nestles in there. It just grips it. It barely sticks out. All of this stuff has a deep carry pocket clip. That’s a terminology that you need to understand. Deep carry clip. Deep carry means that you barely see it when you put it in something. So for example, this knife, you barely see it. All you see is a little clip. So you’re not scaring all the women and children. So for this light in particular, the reason why this light is so perfectly designed to work with this pair of pants, number one, it has a toggle switch.

That is ideal. Because that means you don’t have to flip it in certain directions. You’re not forced to use it in this way. You see a light that has the switch on the back. You’re kind of limited in terms of the orientation of your hand to use it. So this, when you pull it out of the pants, it works quick when you need it. Just like that. It’s a good size. You want it to be lightweight enough that you’re going to want to carry it and that it’s not going to be a burden and you’re not going to just one day say, I don’t want to carry this anymore.

Now you can get this smaller one, which is going to cut down on your weight, but it has that tail switch. So they’re both good flashlights. I personally prefer the toggle. Now the other great thing about the toggle is that when you put it into the pant, okay, there is no risk of it accidentally turning on in your pocket. Why? Because the toggle turns on in the right direction. So even if you are like that, when you’re pushing it into your pocket, there’s no way physically possible that the toggle can turn on.

It can turn off, right? But it can’t turn off because of course the direction of off is up. The direction of on is down. So this is the Benchmade Narrows. Look at how thin that is. This is probably the ultimate EDC knife. It’s made of M380 steel. I’m not a knife connoisseur. So don’t expect any fancy language on this front, but it’s good. It’s potentially stabby when it wants to be. It’s very durable. It’s very lightweight. And it’s also very discreet because that deep pocket carry basically hides it. So all you’re seeing is a clip.

Now the other option is a Benchmade Bugout. These come in a variety of different colors. So they’re very lightweight, incredibly durable. Don’t be put off by some of the plastic handles on these things. I’ve never had a Benchmade Bugout break. Awesome knives. We have a huge selection of Benchmade knives. For this particular pant, we’re probably going to recommend the Benchmade Bugout. You can’t go wrong with a Benchmade Bugout knife. This is my Benchmade Griptilian. This is a heavier duty knife. It weighs a little bit more, but it’s far more durable. I basically go in between these three knives right here.

This one I love because it’s thin and lightweight. The Benchmade is also thin and lightweight. And this one is kind of like, you know, if you got to go Predator John Wayne Rambo on their ****, right? This is built a little bit more hefty. So this could be EDC as well because it is discreet. It’s going to tuck into the pocket all the same. You’re not going to be able to notice, but it’s a bit more bulk. It’s a bit more weight. Now, let’s talk about what we have on the table here. So in terms of EDC, because I’m told we’re going to be the 51st state soon, I figure it’s good to carry some American dollars because you just never know when the crap is going to hit the fan.

The watch is a Phoenix GX7. Something that I want in a watch is GPS with the actual maps and waypoint configuration because if you have waypoints, that’s helpful too. If you can only do waypoints, that’s fine. But if you have the maps, that’s a bonus. Also having solar charging so that you don’t have to worry about recharging. So we’re kind of jumping all around here. Now, this is a cool little device. This is the Workshop Sharpener, but it also has a bit driver. And the bits that they provide you in here, this is perfectly compatible.

Like this is made for Benchmade knives because it has those little hex bits that you can use to basically unscrew anything or tighten anything on this knife. The cool thing about this is number one, the primary feature is that it has a ceramic sharpener on one side and a heavy grit diamond sharpener on the other side. So if your knife gets dull, you can sharpen it. It even gives you an angle guide. So basically you’re just doing that and then you’re coming back the other way. Now, I kind of wish it had a fine diamond and not a coarse diamond because the coarse diamond is pretty aggressive.

But I guess if you know, you’re in a pinch and if you use your knife as much as I do or knives, then you need to sharpen them quite often. Nobody wants to carry around a thing of bits. And that’s my problem with a lot of EDCs. Everybody has big ideas. Everybody wants to be a cowboy when it comes to EDC, but then they never want to carry the ****. So what this allows you to do is this little thing inside here is perfect. How it works is you get a bit and then it’s got the insert there so you can use that.

But if you don’t want these bits in there, like say you want a Robertson and you want a Phillips, you can fit those bits inside here and you can replace them, right? So let’s say you, you know, your most commonly used bits and it’s very lightweight and of course, it’s flat. Now, this is a YubiKey. Nowadays, you can’t be too safe. A two-step identification or two-step verification is insufficient. This one is still in its packaging, but I have one of these. Basically, what this means is that in order to access your computer or your passwords, if you want to change a password or occasionally it will ask you for the YubiKey, this is just an extra layer of protection.

Something I picked up recently that is incredibly cool and vastly exceeded my expectations was this little device right here. Isn’t that beautiful? That is a thermal imager. Now, I was the first person on YouTube to ever do a review, maybe the second or third. I shouldn’t take full credit to do a review of the YubiKey, that was one of the first thermal imagers that was compatible with a smartphone because I’m a prepper, I’m always looking for an edge on life, right? What this allows me to do is see heat signatures.

So that has security applications, that has all kinds of industrial applications around the house applications. If I need to find my dog, you know, and it’s dark out and this thing is going to be able to figure out where he is. So it’s just a really cool device and because it’s so small, I would only carry something like this if it was virtually weightless, which it is. Now, the cool thing is, is that you can even get one that’s smaller than this, believe it or not. Inside here, there are two compartments and so I can put both of these items in there and you never even know what’s there.

Now, in terms of the multi-tool, I’m torn on multi-tools, okay, because when you carry two or three knives, like I do, honestly, sometimes I carry three. I don’t really need all the extra tools on here, especially if I have a drill bit. Really, what I need in a multi-tool, 99% of the time is the pliers and maybe the drill bits, that’s it. I don’t need any files and bottle openers and extra knives and things like that. A lot of that is just extra weight. So finding the ultimate lightweight multi-tool has been a challenge.

I’ve settled on this one. This is the SOG Flash MT. It is lightweight. You can find Leathermans that are kind of lightweight, but there is yet to be one multi-tool on the market that just focuses on the pliers. All I want is pliers, maybe a drill bit, that’s it. So I’ve searched high and low just for pliers. I found a few alternatives. Some are flat form factor. This one is more of a wrench. I guess you could kind of use it in the way you would use a pliers. It’s a Roxxon. I had my hopes up for this when I purchase it, but it’s kind of heavy.

It’s a clunker and it’s got all kinds of other tools in it that I don’t really need. You know what I’m saying? But it’s perfectly compatible with my flat strategy here. It’s not going to be like a fully functional wrench or pliers, but it should be something that can get the job done. Now, there’s another little one and we couldn’t find it for this video that I carry, but it’s almost too small and it’s too hard for me to get out of the pocket. So the other thing you have to consider, and this also has no deep carry clip, which is no good.

You want accessibility. So this is a mini vice grip and for the most part it checks a lot of boxes. It’s flat form factor. It’s got the functionality I need and it has a locking feature, although it doesn’t open that wide unless you screw it, which you know, oh God. Yeah, so it never really made the cut, you know, the more you’re going through life, the busier you are, you want to be able to with one hand be able to pull something like this out. So if it has that deep carry clip, it’s always close to the pocket opening and you want to be able to open it with one hand.

Now Leatherman has a new series of multi tools that are designed to open with one hand problem is they’re too heavy and this is just the perfect weight. You notice it, but it’s not cumbersome and that’s important. So the rocks on I don’t know if it was just a little bit lighter. I probably consider it. The other thing that is compatible with this that I wear every single day religiously are my darn tough socks. You can get the thicker hunt version. You can get winter versions. You can get tactical versions.

That’s going to be included in the kit and you can size that accordingly. I wear anything between a medium and a large depending on the whether it’s a winter version or if it’s a tactical version. So you’re going to want to look and they do stretch a little bit. It’s merino wool, very tough. It has a lifetime warranty, believe it or not. If you send them back to darn tough, if you get a hold, they’ll just send you a new pair of socks. So they’re more expensive, but they’re going to last you forever and they are anti-microbial as well in terms of the phone.

It’s nothing to write home about a now anti-phone case and I got the scars to prove it as you can see. There was a time when I was on this build the ultimate smart survival phone kick and I wanted the thermal camera. You can get ones with thermal cameras and the rugged eyes Otterbox defender of the Galaxy case, but I’ve just said, you know, it’s just a phone and it’s smaller. It’s compatible. It’s lightweight, right? We want lightweight. We want streamlined something. We haven’t tried out yet on the channel is something I recently ordered because you know, I wanted to have an American Psycho moment and these are silver merino wool underwear.

Now, apparently these are infused with silver. Now, why the hell would you want silver underwear? Because silver is anti-microbial. So what that means is that bacteria can’t attach to it. So it’s not going to start to smell really nasty. I mean, it probably will depending on how long you have it. But just remember this, if the shit hits the fan, the underwear that you’re wearing might be the last pair you ever wear in your life. So make sure it’s a good pair. So I don’t know about these. I haven’t I haven’t really tried them on yet, but you know, apparently it’s the last underwear you’re going to need and hey, if it’s Mad Max, you might as well have a pair of silver underwear.

Silver threads and golden eagles. Couldn’t mend this heart of mine. Alright, and last but not least, actually not last, is our paracord belt. I’ve worn this belt for 10 years. It’s been 84 years and this belt has stuck with me. I’ve never had to unwind it. But if I did, there’s a hundred feet of over a hundred feet of paracord in there. And in this snake tail, I believe this one was called the rattler. They don’t sell it anymore. This actually has a striker on it. So if I want to start a fire.

Okay, never had to use it. But inside is a bunch of survival trinkets. I think there’s a razor blade. There’s some fishing line and some hooks and things of that nature. So like I say, I’ve never had to use it in 10 years. So maybe it’s unnecessary, but you know, there could come a point when I do actually have to use it. We also have our survival t-shirts from Canadian preparedness.com made right here in Canada, the nice stretchy fabric, very form-fitting, very comfortable to wear. It took us a long time as thanks to the Canadian Coalition for Firearms Rights.

I used to wear a lot of their t-shirts and wear their hat right now. They hooked us up with a supplier here in Canada and everything about it is cool. There’s no bullshit tags on the back. So we got our logo that’s imprinted on there. Really good quality stuff guys. So go check that out if you want one of those. Now in terms of other ideas for you with respect to this, this is dog spray, pepper spray. You can’t legally carry it in Canada for the purpose of using it on a human being, but you can carry it if you’re worried about wild dogs.

Now another thing that I used to carry, I don’t carry it anymore. I do want to find a better EDC pen. I did have one at one point. It was this tiny little, it was some kind of like miniature pen because you know, a pen is something worth carrying. These are tactical pens. So this is one is from Shraid. So this one has a rape whistle on it. So in here, we got a ferro rod. We got a striker and it also has a glass breaker on it. If I have a pen, I want it to be deployable quickly.

So I honestly would stick with like a uniball. Those uniball pens, they have the carry clips. Now if it’s the apocalypse and you know, it’s the apocalypse and money has no value anymore, you could look into something like this. This is fractional gold. So each one of these is probably worth about 50 bucks. It’s the Canadian mint. So it has the stamp of approval, universally recognized, very reputable. And it has all of the verification numbers. So you could break off a piece of this for some gas or something fractional gold. There’s a premium on it too.

So when you give somebody one of these, you’re actually giving them a bit more because if they wanted to resell that thing, they would resell it at a higher cost. Okay, now, theoretically, you know, it’s fractional gold. Are we ever going to live in a world where I’m buying gas with gold? You just never know, man. You never know. You know, if the power goes out and it goes out and it doesn’t come back on, then what are people going to use as a means of monetary exchange? Keeping a silver coin.

This is not necessary, obviously. Honestly, this is just more. I just like kind of holding silver every once in a while. It’s worth 50 bucks Canadian or 30 bucks American. So that’s pretty much the extent of it, guys. That’s the complete system. Again, if you want to get this bundle, you can get it on our website and you’re going to get the pants. You’re going to get the flashlight. You’re going to get your choice of a knife as well as an Atlas MT multi-tool and a pair of socks as well as a Canadian preparedness t-shirt of your choosing.

So go and check that out if you want to pick up one of those. We also do sell Garmin watches, but we’re not going to include that in the bundle because those can vary wildly in price and we don’t sell the silver underwear. So you’re going to have to find that elsewhere. When you get this entire kit, I want you to take a picture of yourself, post it online and make sure you tag me in it. And I’m going to start including those pictures at the ends of the blue strip videos.

Anyways, guys, hope you found this useful. Thanks for watching. Don’t forget to like, comment, subscribe. Canadian Prepper out.
