Hey, it’s Dan. Welcome back to Watch and I Allegedly and I’ve got a very serious warning for you today because, you know, your email is compromised, all these different things you have to worry about, but please take a second, hit the like button, subscribe to the channel. It started with Gmail, which is the Google product, and what they do is they contact you through your own email, you know, your own service like, hi, this is Google, you have been compromised, please contact us right away.

So some people go, ah, no, that’s nonsense. Then what they do is they follow up with a phone call and it’s an American voice, so it’s not, doesn’t send you off that it’s, you know, some, you know, bad actor out of the country. So you think, oh, wait a second, what do you, what do you need? Well, your account’s been hacked and if we don’t deal with this within 24 hours, you’re gonna lose the account and lose access to it. So people start giving up their passwords. They give up all this pertinent information that makes it so that these people can get a hold of your account.

Now, again, financial information, your personal information, all this stuff is usually tied to your email and don’t do this. You know, Zack Lotta runs a hacker group, hacking club, and he said, wow, I really fell for this until it got to the final step of, hey, they sent him a ping to his cell phone to have him verify information. He goes, no, wait a second, this is where I’m gonna stop because this is where I think they’re trying to scam me. Now, two forms of identification to back up, you know, programs that they have for email, this is the best way to do this because it stops things like this.

And Google’s got a good one where, you know, they will say, hey, listen, we sent a message to the device that you have on record, which you’re the only one that knows what device it is, whether it’s a backup cell phone, your iPad, whatever, and they can send a ping to that and make it so that you have to authorize that. It’s the best way to do this. But be very leery of this stuff because a venture capitalist and his name, Gary Tan, said, wow, got real close to giving up the information that so many people have.

And again, the venture capitalists had a lot to lose if they would have got this. So you have to be careful of this. And what they’ll do is, you know, AI programs have gotten so good with acting like they’re, you know, other people that these bad actors are just making it so that they can go out and they can, you know, do an American voice, they can act like they’re from Google, they spoof the phone number, which it looks like a Google phone number. So if you go online and you search, oh, that is a Google customer phone number.

So they’re starting to get better and better and better at this, but they’re doing it with banks, they’re doing it with different email providers, you know, everything, and just your cell phone provider, they’re doing this over and over and over again. So be leery, be leery of everything, and don’t just give it up if you get this. Shut the device down. See, I also recommend having your email on different devices, not just like your cell phone. So that way, if you are victim of this, you can go to the other device and see if you’re getting the same warnings and things like that.

But be very, very leery of this, because this is very serious and you don’t want to give this stuff up. And remember, they call, they act, they sound legitimate, and again, it’s gonna ruin the average person from ever believing this stuff is true. So protect yourself, change your passwords, new month, new passwords, guys, do it again, do it again and again and again, you know, and then write them down, because as you get older and you get more forgetful, what was the password for this? And it’s important that you do that, okay? So protect yourself and be leery of the bad actors out there, okay? You’ve been warned.

Here’s a few things in the news that I found fascinating. The first one is Starbucks. Starbucks said we would rather close stores than get rid of our waiting room. If you want to go to Starbucks, we’re here to sell things. So we’d rather close some of these stores than just give you a free place to hang out. Wow, okay? They said that. It’s in the news, okay? The next one is Ask For Me. Here’s another Google product that is gonna make people lazier. Now think about this. Imagine you don’t want to call a business to find out their hours or look it up online, so you can use Ask For Me, and they will call the business, the local business, and they will ask all the questions that you don’t want to ask with an AI voice.

This is coming to a sitting near you. That is wild, guys. I mean, people are lazy enough, as it is, but you’re gonna have Google make the phone call for you? Come on. Absolutely wild. So Toyota is the world’s best-selling automaker, again. Sold number one in sales, and you know, Toyota, you know, I got a kick out of the Mirai video I did where we talked about, you know, the free fuel, and people love those videos when I get the discounted fuel rates and, you know, the crazy lease deals that they have out there, so, you know, 15,000 free fuels a lot.

But Toyota is number one again, and, you know, wage cuts, and you’ll like this one. Audi, the German automaker, says, listen, we just want to cut your wages. We just don’t want to fire anybody. We’re just gonna cut back your hours and cut back what you’re gonna make, but we need you to work a little more and make a lot less, okay? So again, guys, I’m telling you, it’s gonna be funnier and funnier because you’re starting to see it getting to the point that people don’t have the money. There is a global slowdown.

The inflation numbers came out late last week for December, and inflation was up again. Oh, no, it held fast at 2.8%. No, that’s what they thought it was going to be is 2.8%. It was at 2.6 previously, and it’s gone up two-tenths of a percent. So inflation isn’t cooling down by any means right now, and you know that when you go out and you buy anything, you know it costs more right now. That’s the biggest problem right now is people cannot afford to get by right now. It’s just it’s very, very difficult right now, but if you work at Audi and you work in the factory making cars, you know, I know you’ve carved some of these are 200 grand, but you know what, you should make less.

So when does this end? When does this business pick up for the tariffs start taking effect and people are going to be upset? It’s going to make inflation go up. I mean, you should see my emails because people are like, inflation is going to quadruple with these tariffs, okay? Well, something has to be done, guys. Something has to be done. So we will see. We will see. Next one is the there is a poultry company, and that is Foster Farms. Foster Farms is going to have a layoff here in California.

Central California processing plant. What is it with turkeys lately? You’re going to lose another 550 jobs that are processing turkeys. Nobody likes turkey. I mean, come on. So they’re going to cut back on turkey production, and I like this. This is the steam gazebo that’s got all the green plants in it. I’m at Sherman’s Gardens. It’s lovely. This place is fantastic, but I’m telling you, they’re cutting back. We have such low cattle production right now. Think about this. We have the same amount of cattle that we had in 1951.

1951. Most of us were alive in 1951. So with that, it tells us that being a farmer is terrible right now. Growing crops is terrible right now. It’s incredibly expensive. Machinery is incredibly expensive. You know, there’s going to be some things with AI that are going to be good, but you’re going to have a lot of problems because of the expense of all this stuff. Yeah, you can have somebody, you know, have AI call. Hey, I don’t want to speak to anybody. You know, call that business and find out when they’re open.

Ask them if they have the blue sweater. You know, that’s what you’re going to get down to. And you wonder why people can’t date, people can’t meet people. Oh my gosh. Lots and lots of cars. You know, one thing that’s fascinating is when a major sports franchise leaves the city, the impact that it has. A lot of people don’t realize this, but, you know, for example, NFL football teams, St. Louis Rams. Rams have been back here in California for, what, five or six years now? They built the stadium. There was litigation over that, and it finally got settled, and some of these restaurants got money from that, and the city got money from that.

But what’s crazy about this is that they’re just starting to pay these people out now. When were the Rams and St. Louis last? And they blame two things now. No vacationers coming to the city. Clearly, well, they’re not watching NFL football, so that’s one thing. Plus, major crime. Whenever you have crime in a city, it destroys the businesses. There’s a great article below talking about how bad it is with these restaurants that have to close because of crime. You’re seeing this all over the place. You’re seeing it here in California. You’re seeing it in all these other cities that are having these problems.

So it’s very, very interesting to see how this plays out. But again, the money, St. Louis Rams, I don’t even know why that’s even an issue. So kind of surprising that they’re still talking about that. I don’t know what they’re hoping for, but they’re not coming back any time soon. A lot of people lately have written me about debt collection. Hey, what can the debt collectors ask? What can they take? When can they call? And I found a great article, What They Cannot Say to You. Maybe it’s just my weird, sick, twisted sense of humor that I just cannot believe what these people say when somebody owes them money and they threaten them, they make references to them, all these horrible things that just are not supposed to be mentioned.

What are you wearing? What do you like to eat? I made all that up. But I found a great article for you on things that debt collectors can and cannot ask when they call you. So they have to adhere to these rules. Plus, the other thing that I found that’s absolutely amazing is a banned debt collector list from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Think about this, guys. There’s a list of debt collectors that are not allowed to be collecting debts. So they’re buying debts from people, you know, that you may have had a charge off in your credit card or old medical debt.

And what they do is they’re not allowed to collect this. So you can tell them to pound sand. Hey, you’re on this list. You’re not even supposed to be calling me. You guys are not authorized. They’re basically committing breaking the law. I was going to say committing a felony, but I don’t want to go that far. But they’re definitely breaking the law because they’re banned from collecting from people. So check that list out, guys, because it’s awesome. And let me know, you know, if you guys have any bets on that list, let’s all research that for you.

So if you have anybody that’s contacted you about an old debt and they’re on the banned creditor or collection list, let me know. And we’ll go after them. We’ll see if we what we can do to get them in some trouble. OK, let me know. I’m going to end this video with these last two things. First thing, it could be illegal to have that congestion tax in New York City. And the Trump administration is working on that to see if, in fact, that they had no business charging people that. And if it is, in fact, a crime to charge a congestion tax.

So I think it’s nice to have somebody that’s doing something right now that is proactive.
