Hey gang! It’s me, Dr. Steve, coming to you from beautiful Pima County, Arizona, where I’m here with family to begin the celebration of Holy Week as we together commemorate the incorporation, the totality of the cosmos into the transformative death and resurrection of Christ. It is absolutely beautiful out here. I’m just getting some wonderful, very needed sun and warmth. I gotta say, the east coast, northeast, has been pretty brutal of late in terms of being just cold and rainy and gray. You guys living out here in Arizona, you are in God’s country. I gotta tell you, it’s so beautiful.

Except in July. Then I think it turns into the other place. But what’s really cool about being here in Pima County is I’m actually just 40 miles away from the southern border and something absolutely amazing is happening over here. I don’t know how many of you have been keeping abreast of the latest order from the desk of President Donald Trump. But basically, in a nutshell, he has just officially militarized the entire buffer zone, what’s known as the Roosevelt Reservation, all along the southern border of California, Arizona, and New Mexico. This is absolutely astonishing stuff. If you don’t know the Roosevelt Reservation, it’s a plot of land.

It literally is a 60-foot wide going from south to north plot of land that goes all along the 2,000-mile border with Mexico, California, Arizona, and New Mexico. What he did back in 1907 is he said it, he designated it as a security buffer zone between the United States and whatever nefarious activity was happening to the south of our border. The strange irony is that no president secured it. It’s a security zone. It was a massive swath of land set apart as a security zone, but no president has ever secured it until now. This is the genius of Trump.

What we have to remember is as amazing as the efforts of Tom Homan and the Homeland Security and ICE and Border Patrol have been, nevertheless, they’re stretched really to the limit right now. All their manpower is exhausted in these efforts to bring illegal immigration crossings down 94%. So they’re really stretched to the limit. So we have, as a word, kind of a manpower problem to even to grow the security that we have as well as the deportation efforts. At the same time, we have a military problem because most Americans do want the military to get involved in border security.

All the polls show that the vast majority supports the U.S. military being sent to the southern border. The problem is that there is an act called the Posse Comitatou Act of, if I recall, 1878 that prevents the U.S. military of getting involved in any domestic law enforcement. And for right or for wrong, for the last decades, the courts have dealt with illegal border crossings as a domestic law enforcement issue. So ICE gets involved, Border Patrol gets involved, or most recently Homeland Security gets involved, but not the military. So we have a manpower problem, and we have a military problem when it comes to our border enforcement.

Enter Donald J. Trump, and in one stroke of the pen he solves both of them. Basically what he did is he turned the entire 2,000 mile latitude buffer zone of the Roosevelt reservation into one massive military base. He has militarized the whole of the Roosevelt reservation. So it is now officially, it comes under the auspices of the Department of Defense, and that is an absolute game changer. Because now, when people illegally cross the border, they are now officially unauthorized trespassers on a United States military base. And that justifies the engagement and the reaction, the activity, law enforcement activity of our military.

So in one stroke of the pen, what President Trump did is he just involved our military in the southern border security, just like the vast majority of the country wants. And at the same time, he basically 10X’ed the manpower to be able to enforce that security. Absolutely brilliant. Again, it’s a game changer. It’s no longer a matter of just simply people trying to make this distinction to people who are here illegally. It’s a civil offense, not a criminal offense. You probably hear Abby Phillip of CNN saying that all the time to Scott Jennings. But now, it’s by definition a criminal offense.

It’s by definition now unauthorized trespassing on a United States military base, and just one stroke of a pen. Now, this is going from if they cross over in California, Arizona, or New Mexico. Texas, as I understand it, their border, most of that land is privately owned. So Trump can’t, with a sweep of a pen, basically militarize that. But Texas is their rock, and they’ve got their own, literally their own security forces to take care of that. So you’ve got this extraordinary act by Trump that basically changes the game and turns them now, people who cross the border illegally, into legitimate objects of military intervention.

And then at the same time, of course, you’ve got Trump revoking the Social Security numbers. You’ve probably heard this of a number of migrants who were given access to the country during the Biden years. They were given a temporary legal status. That temporary legal status has since been, has since demised, as it were, and yet they’re still here. And Trump has officially revoked their Social Security numbers. So now they have no way of being able to get a bank account or credit cards and likes, who’s basically cut them off from our entire financial structure. At the same time, he revoked – this was really interesting – he revoked the parole of hundreds of thousands of migrants who registered through that CBP app, the Custom Border Patrol app that Biden had reconfigured as a way of basically registering that you’re here, even though you’re here illegally.

And so – and so what Trump did is he took that database, found out how many of them ended up getting – going to jail and then getting paroled, and he’s revoked that parole. So either they deport themselves or they’re going to prison. And last I heard, that prison is not here in the United States. Channel your own inner – Naive Bukele on the mega prison and El Salvador. And then at the same time, you have Homeland Security confirming that thousands upon thousands just last month have indeed self-deported as a result of that CBP app. Basically, they’re just being told, look, if you self-deport now, you’ll have a chance to come back.

But if you don’t, we catch you. You’ll never come back again. So amazing stuff happening at the border. You’re seeing there really is a two-way dynamic going on here, where you have mass deportation going one way, going out of the country. At the same time, the border is being just unprecedentedly secured by virtue now of its militarization. So you think 94% drop in illegal border crossings is impressive. Now it’s going to be 100%. It’s going to be absolutely astonishing. Now, of course, the left is all freaking out. They’re basically arguing, you know, this is just the latest extension of Trump’s authoritarianism, dictatorship, blah, blah, blah.

We live under a dictator, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, all this kind of stuff. But in the end, what Trump is proving is this is exactly what our founding fathers envisioned for the chief executive of our nation. We have a government that is there to work for on behalf of the values, interests, and concerns of the people. And if you think it through, I mean, we were told for how long by Biden and even many congressional Republicans that they needed Congress to act in order for this border problem to finally be resolved, this border crisis, this invasion to be resolved.

And here you’re seeing President Trump taking all the tools of his executive chest that the Constitution gives him. Notice he’s not signing executive orders telling judges what kind of robes they have to wear. He’s not signing executive orders telling legislators how many staff they can have. He’s dealing explicitly with the executive branch of government and the power contained therein. And when you exercise that power thoroughly, constitutionally, you see the extraordinary breathtaking dynamics that can come into play to enforce the values, interests, and concerns of the people. Absolutely astonishing stuff. All right. I’m going to continue to just soak in the beautiful sun here and get warm.
