Hey, welcome back to I Allegedly. I’m Dan. I’ve got a good one for you today because you are lucky if you have a job right now. Lucky, lucky, lucky. And please, as always, hit the like button, subscribe to this channel. But let’s get right into it, guys. Think about this. These numbers I’m about to talk about are depressionary. These numbers were announced today and you’re not supposed to notice this because somebody’s testifying in front of Congress and, you know, your attention is supposed to be diverted someplace else. But again, this is depressionary.

In the month of August, we lost 85,979 jobs. Horrible, horrible. Okay? It was one of the worst months ever. Now, it’s up 40%. You can play with games. It’s all this stuff. The total numbers for the year, 892,362 jobs lost. And that’s horrific. It’s a huge number. It’s the second worst since 2020. And we had COVID then. So, you know, COVID, the numbers for COVID were just staggering. You know, 1,963,458 people lost their job in the same period of time, from January until August of 2020. But here’s the problem with it.

You’ve got all these different sectors. Oh, it must be tech, Dan. It must be Microsoft. It must be… No, no, no, guys. It’s everything. It’s pharma. The pharmaceutical industry is going through a big uproar right now. It is finance and it is retail right now. So, you’re seeing a staggering amount of job losses right now. Now, here’s the thing, guys. From this year, think about these numbers. Pharmaceuticals saw 19,111 jobs lost this year. You got financial. You had 18,092 jobs. Oh, God. Retail, 83,000 jobs. Isn’t that wild, guys? Just terrible. And then you got every other sector under the sun.

You know? And again, it’s up 42%. But here is the worst part. Here’s the worst part. How many jobs were added last month? ADP does their projection every year. And ADP thought that there would be 106,000 jobs added. They were sniffing glue. They were way off. 54,000 jobs were added. Other experts said that it was going to be 70,000 jobs. 54,000 jobs were added in the entire country last month, in the month of August. So, do the math, guys. We’re negative, guys. We’re completely upside down. Completely upside down. You know? It’s getting bad all over the place because it doesn’t matter what sector you’re in and what you do.

This is getting worse and worse and worse. You know, my friend lost his job earlier this year. And, you know, hey, you can talk about it now. You know, gave him a six-month severance package. And I said, we got to get you a job so you can double dip. You’re getting paid twice. And, you know, he elected for a payout. Like, write me a check now. Don’t ever take a, if you can avoid it, a monthly payment from these jamokes. Don’t ever do it. Okay? I’ll cover that in the next one day.

And congratulations to him. But he’s one of the lucky ones. But he’s in demand, knows his industry, been in it. Did you want to stay in the same industry? Have no choice. I want to get a job. This is what I got to do. Now, here’s the thing. You’re starting to see worn notices. And this is when you have a large company that fires more than 50 people. They have to issue what they call a worn notice. And the worn notice is done so that the employees can be given 60 days notice.

There is one that is getting famous right now because it looks like it was almost written in crayon by a six-year-old. And it’s the Venetian Hotel, which is a ritzy, glorious place. The thing about the Venetian is that I’m telling you all, they have a mall there. The stores are closing there. People are not shopping there. It’s beautiful. I’ll go there. Next time I go to Vegas for business, which is in like a couple weeks, I’ll go film that Venetian mall. But it is close and shop. They issued a worn notice and had all this misspelled words on it.

You know, there is no excuse for that in anything, guys, to have misspelled words. You can put it through AI and do a little thing called spell check. And this company didn’t do that and just embarrass themselves. But this is the beginning of this, guys. Hotels are one thing that’s funny is people announce their retirement and get fired. I had an article sent to me. And a woman is 63 years old. I’m retiring. And you know, we’ll just call her Jeanette. Jeanette announces her retirement. And because she’s so pretentious, you know, and just I can’t wait to leave.

I can’t wait to, you know, do my new life. Nope. Goodbye. Bye, Jeanette. We want you gone today. Huh? Yeah. Now I had somebody write me three months ago who did the same thing and said, is this legal? Can they do this to me? Yeah, they can, believe it or not. Yeah. Goodbye. And the problem with this is they don’t want somebody around that is not going to be there for the long term. I have another friend in Florida who’s retiring soon. And he’s like, man, I don’t tell anybody anything.

HR knows. And that’s it. I’m going to put off sign of my contract for the new year until the last second. And then they’re going to know my retirement’s coming. And the reason for that is so that they don’t treat him differently. They don’t cut his pay. They don’t cut his hours. Oh, by the way, I’ll just call him Johnny, even though his name’s not Johnny. Johnny, you got to start coming in Saturday nights. Okay. You know what I mean? You don’t want to do this because they’ll do that to you. They will play games with you.

You know, I don’t know what it is. But for some reason, you know, the world’s loaded with pretentious people, you know, people that think they’re better than people that are smarter than I am better than you. And I’m I add more value. And I’m culturally better, smarter and better looking. I’m everything better than you. Okay. The problem with being pretentious in this world is it makes you unlikeable. Okay. And I had a woman that wrote me and had the same thing happen where she announced her retirement and fired her. And what can I do? Can I sue? I don’t think you can.

I don’t think. And now I researched it now and you can’t don’t, you know, read the article below too. They talked about it. They can get rid of you for any reason they want. But this is the last thing that they want. Now, here in Southern California, I have a friend of mine who worked for the county and they have what we called county shenanigans, where they base your retirement on your last year. So his last year of employment, he did a tremendous amount of overtime and he volunteered for Saturdays.

He did all this stuff that was just insanity. And the insanity of this was that it just brought up his base pay and his overtime and everything so much that that’s what they base his retirement on. So when they cut his retirement check every month and he sleeps until 1130 and I love the guy, but that’s what he does. Um, he, that’s what he’s going to do. Okay. So I’m telling you guys right now, I don’t want to do two more things with this great article below from a guy named Modi Khan, Modi Khan’s a little bit younger than me.

And, uh, Modi Khan is, uh, talking about how, Hey, I worked five years at Microsoft. I got laid off and I can’t find a job right now. Well, Modi Khan was let go in December of last year. And since then, Microsoft has had two massive laughs, one for 6,000 people and one for another 9,000 people of the same ilk as Modi. And he cannot find a job. Now, again, if you’re in that group and you’re living off your savings, your full time job is to look for a job.

It is, there’s nothing else that you can do. And I’m telling you this right now, if you’re lucky to have a job right now, you have got to keep your job right now. You’ve got to learn the simple phrases of life. Okay. And three words. Hello, please. And thank you. You know, I do consulting for businesses and I would deal with owners that you’d walk in and they’re jerks. Okay. They’d walk in, not speak to their employees and go to their office and I’m walking in and introducing myself. Hi, how are you? What are you working on? Oh, please show me that please.

And thank you for giving me your time. Okay. The point is, is that you need to do that. You also need to do that. If you’re a business owner, you do it. If you’re an employee, you do it. No matter who you are, you need to give a little to get a little. You also need to be early. You need to give more right now because I’m telling you, you know, my fate, my favorite line is this place doesn’t run without me. Okay. Okay, Jeanette doesn’t run for retirement and they were happy to get rid of you.

Thanks. God, you saved us. We didn’t want to do that party anyways. Your retirement party, that would have been some BS, would have had to have candles and, you know, take everybody’s time for an hour off of work. No, I don’t want to do that. Isn’t it? Well, look at all the work they’re doing on this side of the golf course now. So, lovely. Anyways. Be the most valuable person that there is. Now, my buddy that’s in security in Florida and I just the stories are wild and what he does and and but here’s a guy that he gets updates over the weekend.

I talked to him on the phone and hang on. I’m getting stuff from work right now. Let me deal with this. Okay. He’s involved guys. You need to be involved. If you are not giving more right now than ever than ever than ever, you’re going to be the next person. They’re going to get rid of. I don’t care how much you hate this place. Turn it into a love fest guys right now. If you are a business owner, be kind. Thank your customers. Thank your employees. Thank your subs. Thank you.

Everybody you work with. Everybody. Be kind to everyone. Please. Do you understand that? It’s the only way to get by right now with all of this because if you don’t, you’re done. Okay? Because these numbers, they anticipate they’re going to double between now and the end of the year and then you know what we have? The same numbers that we had with COVID. That’s what you have to look forward to. So again, I’m going to end it with this. You’re lucky if you have a job. Okay? Keep it up and your job, you know, I mean, it’s funny.
