Summary
➡ Louisiana voters rejected two amendments: one that would have lowered income tax rates but increased tax reductions for seniors, and another that would have provided a permanent pay raise for teachers and reduced taxes for those over 65. The amendments also included provisions for government growth limits, property tax exemptions, and other modifications. The author questions why voters would reject these changes, suggesting that they could have benefited the state’s economy and its citizens, particularly teachers and seniors.

Didn’t have the nerve to go in there and tell black people and Louisiana voters oh make sure you vote for amendment two which which which talks the poor and leaves the rich. When we gonna start with uh these uh media and see celebrities getting into these politics? I’m over it. Um Curtis your time is up. Your time is up now. You see how quickly people switch up on you? First they love you. First you were creating jobs. First they rock with you right and so when I seen that I’m like well what the heck is going on? I thought that the black people actually liked 50 cent.
I thought that black people was rocking with 50 cent that they actually felt that he was valuable to the community and so I’m gonna share this which I haven’t seen it yet but 50 cent addressed the Shreveport city council ahead of the uh work on a stage work lease because I believe that he leased it for like 30 years or something like that. So this is the whole thing which 50 cent I believe he’s turning 50 years old. He’s gonna have that lease until he’s 80 apparently but this is what 50 cent had to say uh at the city council and I’m wondering if he says something about this that and then all of a sudden turn against him that quick.
Good afternoon Mr. Jackson. Good afternoon. Good afternoon. I didn’t even know I had to speak. Somebody set me up. Somebody set me up. They had to be Gary. Gary did it. Now this is exciting man. I’m really uh just excited to be able to be here today. I see you guys are supporting from this project is a legacy project for me. I don’t think I’ve done anything that directly affected as many people as this project will hear his report and um I’m just excited to get to it. We’re ready for you to get to it too.
We are. You don’t know what you heard about us. No I try to tell them all the rules to lead the Shreveport. Tell them again. It’s gonna be that way whether they like it or not because it’s the direction we headed in. You know creatively I haven’t had a opportunity to affect more uh more people than I have at the moment because film and television there’s no age range. You know hip-hop is a youth culture thing and I’m gonna turn 50 this year. 50 turns 50. 50 turns 50. Got to do bigger things.
Got to do bigger things. I’m looking at all of these faces and I’m going which one of them ain’t gonna vote for me. I get a chance to see this room online. I see you guys vote on other things and stuff like that and it’s exciting to just be here to see you face to face. It’s cool. Thank you so much for coming. Thank you for having me. Thank you so much for coming. Thank you. Hey 50 they say there’s they say there’s a big rich town. Yes. I’m just from the poorest part.
That’s that’s all I had. That’s all you had. You ready to close out the meet now. No we got a couple of votes to say. You got a couple more. All right. May I also know do you have any communications? I’d love not. Okay. Does any oh Pastor Tim Jones. Pastor Tim they made you come up after FIFA. So apparently 50 also at some point you say 80 don’t get that part. He’s never seen power. Yeah you know what I haven’t seen power but I seen him perform it live in the beginning of the new year at his final show in his Vegas residency.
So I actually seen it in person. That’s a stunt. All right. I was actually there at his performance in Vegas. Yeah where he played in the club last and we actually was rocking out and everything like that. I was at his final show at his Vegas residency. I didn’t have to see it on power. I seen him perform it in real life. So I’m I’m familiar with the live performance. It sounded a little different than I am on what he did on power. I’m sorry. It was it was a great show. It was a phenomenal show.
So that’s the only way that I’m familiar with it. Sounded a little different than the city councilman versus watching uncle murder, Tony Yayo and 50 Cent on the stage performing it. They did it live. So it’s a little different. But anyways aside from that 50 Cent also said that apparently he was advocating for people to vote for Amendment 2 in Louisiana. And so this is what Amendment 2 says. It says ballot year 2025. Actually let me pull it up on the screen and I’ll show you guys. And I was literally in the VIP section so it was a little different.
It was great. It was it was a good show too which I know. What was it at? It was at Planet Hollywood I believe. Amendment 2 Louisiana. Alright so let’s see if I can look at this. Because Louisiana actually rejected it. So let me share this with you guys really quickly because I’m trying to figure out why black people don’t like 50 Cent all of a sudden. Share this screen. So this is Amendment 2 that was in Louisiana. And Louisiana voters asked to consider the most substantial change to the state’s constitution since it was adopted in 1974.
Amendment 2 on March 29 statewide ballot is a proposed overhaul of the longest portion of the state’s foundational document which deals with taxes and the government spending. If approved by voters it would enshrine a regressive tax system where the wealthiest people in the corporations pay a far lower tax overall tax rates than people with low income. It would eliminate constitutionally protected funds that would provide ongoing funding for education transportation programs and make it harder for state policymakers to deal with the ups and downs of Louisiana. Okay so this is propaganda.
So this is somebody else’s take on how it would affect everything in Louisiana. And they’re saying that basically to reduce the taxes because you know the taxes will be reduced for everybody but people on the bottom or people in the middle class say they said well the wealthiest amongst us is going to be paying less than the taxes. When Louisiana is basically trying to have a regressive tax base or regressive tax rate. So they’re basically trying to lower the amount of taxes that everybody pays instead of just a certain demographic of people.
Let me see. All right so this is the actual amendment the legislative revising ballot language voters will see on March 29 was reduced to the 91 words do you support an amendment to revise article what is that seven of the constitution of Louisiana including revisions to lower the maximum rate of income tax increase income tax deduction deductions for citizens over 65 provide a government growth limit so you minimize the the size of government which basically minimize the amount that you got to spend on government modify operation in a certain constitutional funds provide property tax exemptions retaining the homestead exemption and exemption for religious organizations provide a permanent teacher salary increase and requiring a surplus payment to teach your retirement debt and make other modifications so who wouldn’t want that why wouldn’t you want to cap personal personal income tax rates so the current constitution is 4.75 the proposed constitutional amendment will reduce the cap to 3.75% so why wouldn’t you want that who wouldn’t want to lower the personal income taxes regardless of what tax bracket that you in on well apparently the woman like her said that she didn’t agree with it and they all went against 50% because they said that he actually supported reducing the tax rates over in Louisiana even though he’s the person that’s building businesses and going to be hiring people there and he’s going to be generating revenue for the city and the state and all of that and so the people in Louisiana apparently rejected it huh amendment to Louisiana yeah the people voted it down they said that they didn’t want to make to change the amendment to ultimately lower taxes for everybody they rejected all four constitutional amendments that would ultimately lower the taxes and the tax rates for everybody over in Louisiana that’s crazy why would y’all reject it oops let’s get straight into our election results tonight Louisiana constitutional amendment one the amendment would have allowed the Louisiana legislature to create trial courts to specialize jurisdiction and provide supreme court original jurisdiction to discipline out of state lawyers and with all these 64% of voters saying no amendment one fails voters tonight also rejecting amendment two which would have revised article seven of the constitution of Louisiana including revisions to lower the maximum rate of income tax but have also increased income tax reductions for citizens over 65 provide for a government growth limit modifying operation of certain constitutional funds provide for property tax exemptions retaining the homestead exemption and exemption for religious organizations it would have also provided a permanent teacher salary increase by requiring a surplus payment to teacher retirement debt and make other modifications what is wrong with Louisiana why would they reject a tax to lower the amount that they paying in taxes increase the amount that they paying the teachers make a surplus payment to the teacher’s pension fund also lower the amount that people that are over 65 are paying in taxes and then that would allow for people to move back in Louisiana or move into certain cities while at the same time investing in their businesses there why would you why would you all vote against that anyway shout out to all of my people shout out to the people that’s on the left that love more taxes that love giving more money to the federal government that don’t want their teachers to get raises and also want to make sure that the people over 65 get to get to a reduction in taxes shout out to y’all shout out to the people over there i wonder how many people actually read the amendment i wonder how many people actually studied it versus had somebody say hey man don’t don’t support this don’t don’t rock with it don’t don’t go with it
