Summary

➡ The JailBreak Overlander channel talks about how the writer is on a six-month road trip and has experienced a surprising incident with his truck and bike. His Bontrager handlebars, which are unique and hard to replace, broke off unexpectedly while he was in Montana. He’s relieved that this happened when he wasn’t riding the bike, as it could have caused a serious accident. Despite the shock, he’s dealing with the situation and needs to find a place to get new handlebars.

So this is crazy. Crazy. I just headed out. I’m gonna be on the road for six months. Six months. I’ve been out for a week and a day today. That’s my truck and I go out of my way to carry a 1-up modified bike rack so I can carry my truck. I’m dead tree branch and as you can see, I didn’t crash. There isn’t a scuff on it. You know what I mean? This is crazy. A little bit of chocolate there. This is absolutely crazy. That just snapped right off like a tree branch.

I don’t even know what to say to that. Imagine if that happened while I was on the trail. You know what I mean? Like are you kidding me? And these are Bontrager handlebars. The you know the proprietary ones that you can’t fit anything on. So now I’m gonna have to go change up my handlebars someplace and I’m in Montana. Way up in Montana. This is insane. I cannot believe this just happened but I’ll tell you what I’m happier that it happened now than while I was riding it because that would have been a problem man.

Wow. Wow. Just snapped off like I mean that’s crazy to me. Snapped off like nothing. Wow. Wow. And this is the top of the Line Trek rail. This is the T type. Unbelievable. Unreal man. Bikes got a thousand miles on it. Wow. [tr:trw].
