Right now the big thing in Las Vegas is The Wizard of Oz was re-edited and the movie has been shown at the sphere and it’s getting rave reviews because it’s all interactive and crazy and they’re flying people and the tornado whips up and crap flies through the room and it’s just unbelievable. But if you see clips of that, I guess it’s worth seeing and they edited the movie down to 75 minutes so they can show it three times a day. That’s one thing, okay? You know, you get 15,000 or 17,000 tickets, whatever it is in that place.

That’s one thing. But right now in, you know, last month they were down 5%. 5% of 52 million is a huge number, guys. It’s off substantially. People are paying more money to go everywhere. They’re advertising deals like, hey, we have free parking now. You better have free parking. You better have something to get people there because the comps are going away for people. You could be a low limit player and you could be given the moon just six months ago. It’s done now. It’s completely done. So one thing that’s happened is that the track things through McCarran Airport, the airport into Vegas, I’ve told you guys this, I have a business partner in Texas and we’ve talked about meeting.

We would meet in Vegas because it literally would be $300 cheaper to fly to Vegas than it would be to fly to LAX, for example, in Los Angeles. So here’s the numbers that you have to hear that are unbelievable. And think about this. You’ve got millions of less people going to Vegas. But this is everything, guys, okay? It’s 4% decline in domestic and international travel compared to 2024 at the same time. Air Canada. Now, the Canadians hate us right now because of the tariffs and all the shenanigans. When I went to the hardware show, I showed you guys how dead that was.

And at first, people were saying, oh, this is because nobody from Canada is here and Canada is huge in the hardware space. It’s down almost 22%, 21.8%. That is an absolutely huge number. Now, foreign travelers are down 13% and the only airline that’s only down a little bit is Southwest. Southwest is down only three-tenths of 1%. Now, Spirit Airlines, the swap meet of airlines, and again, I don’t think they’re going to have Dan do any commercials for them soon, but the swap meet of airlines is down 22%. Well, listen, honey, if we’re going to fly, I don’t want to fly on an airline I can’t bring a bag on that will charge me $6 for water.

I don’t want to do that, okay? So again, people are fed up, it’s down, and we’re seeing it just completely off. So Vegas is off. Now, consumer expenditures, what we go through with the largest number of economists used to determine our inflation is off and inflation went up to 2.9% in the month of July. It’s always one month behind. Now, everybody’s freaking out because it’s, you know, one-tenth of 1% off of where it was in, you know, June. So again, do you believe it’s 3%? Seriously. Oh, gas is the cheapest it’s going to ever be on Labor Day in 15 years.

I believe that. I believe gas is going down. I, you know, I searched different places and here in Southern California, you can go on one street corner to the next and just be blown away that it can be 60 and 80 cents cheaper for gas just by driving a couple of blocks. But gas is off. Gas is slowing down. They also think that more people are going to drive wherever they want to go this weekend over flying and traveling and booking hotel rooms. That makes sense. Vegas is off. I think everything else is off too. Now, the next thing is real estate.

Right now, you’re seeing more new construction that they’re discounting prices on to sell the homes. It is the lowest level of discount, highest level of discounts in 15 years. Again, a horrible figure, guys. When you sit there and you hear that houses are at $407,200, but that’s off $28,000 for the average sale. That’s a huge number. Now, here, you couldn’t buy anything. That house is probably right there. That’s probably three, you know, that one, that guy, probably the same thing, you know. But I mean million, not 300 grand, guys. Now, you know, places like this have a guest house, they’ll walk in the park, you know, craziness.

Now, it’s not for everybody to buy a house like this. I get it. I get it. I get it. But the idea with this is that people, the American dream of buying a home and sitting there and waiting is completely off. This is an area that you cannot get insurance for because this other side is a hill and the hills have a problem of burning and they have a problem with people that don’t fill reservoirs with water and things like that. But everything is up right now. All the auto places this weekend, Labor Day sale, Labor Day sale, Labor Day sale.

I am telling you this right now, if you want to buy anything right now, you need to ask for the moon right now. And I had a woman write me last week and said, my husband’s not a good negotiator. And he just comes across as rude. Well, the practice, think about this, think about what you want. What is the goal that you want to pay for your house? What is the goal you want to pay for that car, that motorcycle, that bicycle, whatever, you know, the thing that blows me away right now is merchandise and stores that are independent.

Wow, this bike is $795. I don’t know. We didn’t want to spend over six for what we were going to buy to really. Yeah, they’re making deals on things like that right now. Find out what you want. If this is the price, ask for here and stick with here. Oh, we were going to pay cash. We weren’t going to finance it. If you were going to finance something, have your financing in order so you’re not at the mercy of these businesses. But just ask, guys, but it’s all slowing down right now. Now, this is to your advantage.

If you know that things are hot, you know where to look, you know how to get a deal when things are moving fast and that you have to jump fast. Now that they’re slowing down, you’re in the driver’s seat for everything right now. The problem is people get desperate. Oh, I’ve got to have that house, Dan. That house has got a view. It’s on the hill. I want to be able to look at the canyon and be able to see that at night. That’s going to be beautiful. Well, be ready. Be ready, guys, because Vegas is off.

Vegas is just unbelievable. The last three times I was there, noticeable. OK, restaurants that you couldn’t get into before. Come on down. Sure, we can squeeze in, Dan. No problem. Really? OK, places that had a six month wait before. Nope. Not anymore. Listen, if you come in now, we can see you. OK, hearing shenanigans like that. And you’re going to hear. Nobody wants to admit, wow, we’re dying over here. We’d love to make a sale. Then it’s just then they deal with somebody like me and I offer you five dollars. So that’s the difference. Get a deal and whatever you do right now, search for food, search for, you know, services, everything.

I’m telling you right now, business is hurting. If you know this, you’re going to cut your expenses and you’re going to save money and you’re going to be in a better spot. You’re going to be in a better spot. I keep getting things sent to me about car leases and I’m getting people that are saying you got to lease a car over buying my friend that just leased his Tesla. Smartest decision in the world. That guy literally, I mean, if he drives 50 miles in a day, I’d be shocked. But he gets the car he wants.

He gets all the features he wants for four hundred bucks a month. Hello. OK, have a nice day. Enjoy the car. You know, what’s he going to do? OK, with Tesla sales falling through the floor, there are leases that are cheaper than your phone bill right now for those cars. Now, if you had to lease an electric vehicle, I can’t believe I’m saying this. I would lease a Tesla over anything else just because they’re a better car. And the likelihood of that company going out of business is nil compared to everybody else, you know, Rivian and all these other places, you know, that you, you know, that come and go.

You know, it’s funny here in Southern California, they had a lot of places in like Laguna Beach where they had these EV car showrooms and they’re gone. Polestar, you know, it’s like, huh, what’s this? What is that? It’s like doing by the beach. Not selling cars. It’s crazy, guys. OK, there’s more to cover. Let me know what you think so far. But have you seen it? Have you seen it? Final, final thing before this little first segment is I am a huge fan of cruises right now. And I am seeing so many deals internationally on cruises right now.

The advantage to a cruise is your food is included. Your room is included. They will clean your room. They will do everything for you. You can have entertainment. You can have fun for one price. Now, if you are an alcoholic and you are a booze hound and you need to have 25 drinks a day, you’re going to pay for that, for that. Now you can go and there’s different cruise lines like Virgin that you can go out and get booze put in your room. They will include that. But that costs more money. So let me know what you think so far.

So last chance for romance on that. A few things that are good. Again, everything is slowing down. Kroger, the nation’s largest grocery store chain, is laying off 1,000 people. Wow, 1,000 people in the stores? No, Dan. 1,000 executives are losing their job at the corporate level. They’re cutting back because it’s slowing down. They’re going to trim the fat and get rid of these people. But these are executives. These are vice presidents. These are people that work in management and purchasing in logistics and in legal and everything like that. Buy, have a nice day. You’re going to start seeing, if you’re a lawyer, you should really look at being of counsel for businesses because they’re looking for outside lawyers to be of counsel, meaning your lawyer for the firm.

I had a lawsuit 25 years ago, and one of the lawyers was of counsel for a rim company, a wheel company that made rims, and that was his legal work. And then he handled my case too and killed them in one, and it was fantastic. But you’re going to start to see that shift again to where they’re going to get rid of the in-house lawyers and hire guys like Sam to do that. So that’s coming. Now, you poor people that have your student loan debt, you’ve got some really, really bad news because you’re going to have a tax bomb hit you at the end of next year.

And that is that if you were given a reduction in your student loan debt, listen, we’ll reduce it from $75,000 down to $50,000. You’ve got to pay the taxes on that $25,000. That’s in the big, beautiful bill. So it’s a big, beautiful tax bill is what it should be for guys like you. So it’s going to be shocking, and you haven’t seen anything yet, but it’s the beginning of this stuff. So again, nobody reads that stuff. Nobody sits there and takes the time to sit there and go, yeah, I’m going to read the big, beautiful bill, unless you’re a loan like me.

But again, put stuff like that in chat GPT and have it condense it for you. You’d be surprised what it comes up with because it will condense it and make it quicker. I have a friend of mine who is just telling me all his success stories with AI, and he wanted to design a website, came up with the schematics and was going to send it to an engineer. Sending it to the engineer would cost between, think about this, $1,000 and $5,000 to have the engineer work on this. It would take at least a week for him to do this, but that’s what it would cost.

He put it through an AI engine, came up with the site, fixed all the bugs on it for $1. He said at minimum, Dan, it was $1,000 to $1,000 savings on that. Crazy guys, absolutely crazy. So seeing another amusement park go down. When was the last time you were in an amusement park? Hell will freeze over before Disney. I go to Disney again with the problems that they subjected us to. I barely watch ESPN because of the clown festival and clown show that they’ve become. Six Flags. Great Park in Santa Clarita, California is going to last one more year, then they’re going to close a 50-year-old amusement park.

Why? Because attendance is down so much. Well, that’s a safe place to go. Let the rides, I’m sure, will just be amazing. I’m sure the food will be maintained, too, knowing it’s their last season of guests. Pass, Adina, pass, pass, pass. So final, final story for you, TransUnion, the credit company. Think about this, guys. 4.4 million people had a data breach. All your data is on TransUnion. Now, were you affected by this? Was your credit? Who knows, guys? I’m doing a bunch of banking stories and banking news that’s coming out right now. But you need to protect yourself.

You need to assume that your data has been stolen. What they’ll do is they’ll get sued for this and they’ll give you credit monitoring. You know, you can become a victim for tens of thousands of dollars of identity theft. Have people use your credit card, open credit cards in your name. Do horrific things. But, hey, you know what? Dan, we’re going to monitor your credit for a few months. Guys, I’m telling you, I have been the victim of identity theft and it is horrible. It’s a mess to clean up. It takes forever. There are still things I have to deal with to this day because of that.

So 4.4 million people had their data stolen from TransUnion, but we don’t know the extent of it yet. Okay, I do. It’s horrible. You guys are idiots, okay? You’ve got to work through this right now because they’re acting like they’re inventing something when they cut people’s hours and they make it less. It’s not. These places are hurting. Now, if you were in management of any kind and you see this, my favorite person of the year, and I still don’t know her name completely, I want to say it was Julia, but she was involved with the Rite Aid situation and was just a regular store worker and said, I want to sneak into the meeting so we can see how bad it is with the plants.

Now, remember Rite Aid went bankrupt. It went out of business and fired those people and the one woman that told me in Costa Mesa, California that she was literally six months from getting her pension and they got rid of her. Hell will freeze over for those people that did that to that woman. But anyways, find out. You know, put your ear to the rail and listen, guys, to what’s going on. If you think your company’s having a difficult time, they are. They are. You know. You know the place is off. You know, Lauren Connecticut, she sends me stuff I can’t even talk about.
