Summary

➡ Today’s discussion is about the various uses of vacuum sealing, not just for food preservation but also for protecting items from the elements. This method can be used to create a survival cache, which can include items like a shotgun, ammunition, a fire kit, and even medical supplies. The process involves using a plastic or mylar vacuum seal bag, and the sealed items can last for many years. However, sharp objects may need some padding to prevent the bag from tearing.

Today on the channel we’re going to talk about different things that you can vacuum seal and unorthodox ways that you can use your food saver or whatever vacuum sealer you have to preserve either food or different items for long periods of time. Make them weather resistant, put them in your survival cache and forget about it until the end of days. Let’s get to it. Vacuum sealing is great for preserving the lifespan of your food, but you can also use it to vacuum seal other things to protect them from the elements. That’s what we’re going to talk about today.

This is a typical plastic vacuum seal bag. This is mylar. This is a non-porous material. This one, although it will hold the vacuum seal for many years, it is still porous. So eventually the vacuum seal aspect is probably going to run out. So if you really want to do this like a pro, I would recommend using mylar. We’ve done videos on how you can do that, but quite frankly that’s a lot of work because we’re going to be showing you 50 different things to vacuum seal today and if we had to do it this way it would take us much longer.

So we’re just going to use our standard plastic vacuum seal bags, which will work just fine for many years. Now if you want to make your survival cache, you go get yourself a cheap shotgun, get a vacuum seal bag. I’m going to make sure that that thing does not get exposed to any elements. So it’s ready to start blowing the heads off zombies after the apocalypse. Oh it’s leaking right here. So if you hear where the leak is, this might work. There we go. What I’d recommend you do if there’s any sharp edges, put some tape on it or something to kind of soften it up a little bit before you put in the bag because chances are that suction is going to, oh it’s so hard that it’s going to tear.

Ammunition. I don’t think you have to do this to ammo, but people like to do it so why not. We’re going to make ourselves a little shotgun kit assortment. So we have some buckshot, we have some birdshot, we have some slugs and then we have mini versions of all of those. So these are mini slugs. These are really cool for the smaller shotguns that you can get. I started re-watching The Walking Dead and I’ve reached the point in the series where they run out of bullets, so they make a bullet factory.

These are the scissors in the history of the world. There you go. Okay, so here’s an idea for you. Let’s say you live in a temperate climate and you want to build yourself a survival cache and you want to make sure you have what you need to make a fire. It’s very difficult to make a fire in a rainforest-like environment. So here’s the solution for you. So we have our ignition, our storm proof matches which will stay lit even underwater. We have our fire tinder and then we have our kindling. We’re going to make this into a fire kit which will be waterproof.

Okay, so what we’re going to do for this is we’re going to put this in the bottom. This is just a piece of paper. This is dura copy paper, can’t be ripped, should have went viral but didn’t. This is going to make all the difference in preventing punctures. And trust me, I’m a vacuum sealed master. All right, so we got it all in there. It’s a money shot. I went through all that trouble and I should have put a piece of paper on the end. There you go. You know, you could sell that.

Maybe you wouldn’t have as many matches in there. You could just have one little book of matches, have some tinder, and you basically have everything you need to get a fire going for a night of camping. One of the first videos I ever did when I hiked the west coast trail was I made my own rations. And so that’s basically what we’ve done here. So we got our copia smoothie. We have our pad thai freeze dried food. We have our instant coffee. We have our sugar, a lot of sugar. We got some emergency drinking water, some seasoning salt, some vegetable soup base, and there we go.

All right, let’s do this MRE. All right, there you go. Now this is what I’m famous for, toilet paper. Let’s see how small and condensed we can get this. If you’re not privy to toilet paper tablets, we’ve got a solution for you. I want to see how compressed I can get this. That’s how you do it. If we sold like individual compressed toilet paper, bricks, vacuum sealed, million dollar idea or a thousand dollar. All right, throw that in your bug out bag, your survival cash. This is going to be currency someday, remember. For my American brothers and sisters, after the shit hits the fan, how are we going to remember the world that once was? This is why you get yourself an American flag.

You’re going to vacuum seal this. You’re going to put it in a time capsule. After the world starts to get rebuilt, after the shizzy hits the fizzy, this is going to be a hot commodity that our flag was vacuum sealed. There you go. What is this? Oh yeah, fish antibiotics. You can’t buy these anymore. They’re illegal to buy without a prescription anymore. Fortunately, you can now get your antibiotics from Jace Medical. There was a time when this is what preppers did. The government said, don’t do that. It’s dangerous. They’re all going to laugh at you.

We’ve got some Tylenol, we’ve got some potassium iodide case nuclear war breaks out. I’m amazed it hasn’t already. Medical supplies, great thing to vacuum seal in general. I can relate to what’s in the bag sometimes. I just feel like the world is caving it all around me, constantly under pressure. It’s suffocating. Nobody thinks about how what’s in the bag feels. So we got some medical supplies. Why not? It’s probably the most practical thing to prep. Mind you, the only problem I have with this idea is if you need this in a pinch, you know, maybe this is something that you would use for long-term storage and not if you need immediate access to it.

Jeez. It owned that one. This is the V2040 vacuum sealer from FoodSaver in case you need to know. So here we have gas mask filters. These have a seal on them. Normally they should last depending on the filter, five to 20 years. Honestly, they probably will last a lot longer than that. And I would recommend vacuum sealing these in mylar if you could. But let’s just do it in a vacuum seal and see what happens. Oh, it really sucked the life out of these things. There we go. Pretty tight. So this is a ghillie suit.

So I guess if you had to put this in your survival cache, you got to be bugging out. You don’t want people to see where you are or who you are. Then this is a great tool for that. So let’s see how this compresses. I have no idea why we did this, but we did it. So a ghillie steak. All right. We’re going to make ourself a post-apocalyptic digital library that’s EMP-proof. We have this four terabyte hard drive that’s chock full of all kinds of survival, how to audio visual and reference material. So how a Faraday cage works is that whatever electronic device you have, it’s wrapped in a non-conductive material and that is wrapped in a conductive material.

So that’s going to absorb the electromagnetic pulse. The non-conductive layer is going to attenuate the energy so it doesn’t go into the electronics. Now, ideally, you’d probably want to wrap this a few times and then before doing this next step. But just for the sake of showing you the principle, you could do this to like an old smartphone. Maybe you want to fill up with emergency information. Let’s just do it one more time. We’ll vacuum seal it. That way, it’s all nice and contained and it’s not all like, you know, flaking off and stuff.

So if you want double protection, you just got to repeat the process. More tinfoil and then vacuum seal it again. This is your portable library of Alexandria for the post-apocalypse. This is a Halta 4’s. What is this? HY10. Probably one of the most popular Halta 4’s axes. There we go. That’s a nice tight seal. Throw that in your survival cache. You’re good to go. This is the world’s largest folding saw. There we go. Ta-da! So this is what I call the Tack Pack. So in here, we have our LA police gear pants. We have two pairs of tactical socks.

Then of course, we have our exclusive Canadian prepper t-shirts that say, nobody panic. That’s all you need for the apocalypse. The Tack Pack. Next up, we have our survival kit. So we got a crap load of matches if you want to be a post-collapse pyromaniac. We have emergency blanket. We have a candle. We have this. I don’t think it’s edible. That’s a fire disk. This whole thing is how to make fires. We have a compass and we have more fire starter. All right. There we go. I think it probably could have taken a little bit more out of there.

All right. So this is our survival garden survival seed vault. It has a bunch of different seeds in it. There we go. So let’s do our seeds here. Strangle the life right out of there. Strangle the life right out of there. Up next, a spear. My melee weapon in the apocalypse. Let’s do the spear. Catch. This is silver. All right. So what we’re going to do is we’re going to put this in here, even though you don’t have to worry about silver. It’s not going to corrode. Nothing’s going to happen to it, but we’re going to do this dumb to it anyways.

There you go. Throw that in your survival kit. Bulletproof toilet paper pack. Next up, emergency flares. Somebody, a subscriber sent me this. I don’t want to give their name, but they know I’m into prepping books. This is the machinery’s handbook. Like it’s got all the, I don’t even know what the hell’s in here. All kinds of things that I wouldn’t know what to do with how to make a nail, how to make a spring, how to make different plastic fittings. So we’re going to vacuum seal this book. So here we got our fishing kit.

This is what would happen if you went into outer space. That would happen to your lungs. So this is our emergency communications kit. We have our two FRS radios, our Balfang radio. We have our CB radio satellite phone, Zender power bank, a crank powered shortwave radio, and a solar powered flashlight and a cord to charge these things. All right, here we got some writing material. So we got our right in the rain waterproof. Why would you ever need to vacuum seal waterproof paper? I don’t know because that’s what we’re doing today. That’s why. There we go.

Ice, ice baby. I’m a genius. It’s going to be cool when that turns into liquid. See, put that in your bug out bag. You have ice for the apocalypse. Okay. So let’s just say you’re an aspiring cannibal and you know that you didn’t prepare for shit hits the fan and you want to preserve your own arm to eat when you start running out of food. Well, we’re going to show you how to do that today. I’m going to need you to stand there just in case it sucks the life out of me. Oh, it’s weird.

We’re good. We’re good. Oh, I should have spread my fingers apart more. There you go. Second dumbest thing I ever did on this channel. But you know, I think we should probably get this off because not even Ricky from Triller Park Boys is this dumb. Oh, now comes the skin part. All right. Oh, she’s starting to burn now. All right, it’s kind of like opening up a brand new arm. There you go. Anyways, thanks for watching. Don’t forget to like, comment, and add that up.
