Hey, welcome back. I’m Dan, and you’re watching I Allegedly. And I’ve got a good one for you today because Costco is furious. Costco wants a refund. Costco wants its money back. Costco has been paying tariffs in 2025 for merchandise in its store. And Costco is furious that these War Powers act of 1977 was used to apply tariffs. Is it good or is it bad? You make the call.

But what Costco’s doing is Costco saying, forget about. We’re not going to discuss this anymore. They filed a lawsuit in the. In the World Trade Court, International trade court, which I had never heard of before, to be honest with you guys. And I was like, you know, that’s pretty wild. Court of international trade. But the tariffs that they’re paying to China, Mexico and Canada and 12 other countries, they’re saying are endowed and they want them back. And based on their argument, they’re saying they only had a limited time to file this, so they wanted to file the lawsuit right now.

Now, are they entitled to this money back? Has it dramatically affected things? You know, things at Costco seem pretty reasonable lately, but they’re feeling the pinch right now, and they want this money back. They’re saying, now, how do you guys feel about that? How do you feel about getting rid of the tariffs? What if the tariffs would actually make it so that we did not have to have the Internal Revenue Service? If we could get rid of taxes in their entirety because we had tariffs, Would you consider that? Would you sit there and go, yeah, I would do that? Why, for one, would do that in a second? You know, we’ve had so many people through the years talk about flat taxes.

5%, 10%, every purchase, an international purchase, 1% would get applied to everything that you bought, and it would go to the government, and the government would then pay for everything. The problem with it is that there’s so much waste with these people and so much abuse. And if you look at places like Minnesota where they just got fleeced out of, it could be up to $2 billion by all these fake programs to feed kids and things like that. You know, who’s going to be in charge of this money? If. If there is an opportunity for somebody to fleece it and rip it off, they will find a way to do that.

That is the worst part about that. Now, to give you guys an idea where? I’m at South Coast Plaza. We’ve got the other bridge. This one separates the hotel over here. You guys can see where that’s at. But, you know, it’ll be interesting to see if Costco gets anywhere with this. Now, the lawsuit itself, you know, they felt that they were under a time constraint. Right now we’re about to hear from the Supreme Court to determine if these are even valid or not. I think the president has the ability to put tariffs on things. No tariffs. Yes, tariffs, whatever. Now, for those of you that have been around the channel for a while, you guys know what I’ve done for a job. I have multiple businesses. I consult with people, help them raise money, help with marketing. If you guys were around for Thanksgiving, I did a couple videos that were, you know, how to get grants, how to raise money. And some of the best deals in this world are the deals that don’t go together. And I have a very good friend, a childhood friend, who took me to lunch the other day and said, hey, do me a favor, and I want you to look at this and tell me what you think about this.

And it was for him to buy a business. And I’m not going to tell you what the business was, the city, what the industry was. I’m not going to do anything like that. I’m just going to give you generic terms on this. And for this guy, this would have been the perfect business for him for a thousand reasons. Now it was $4 million, a little over 4 million bucks. And he was like, you know, how, you know, what do you think about financing? What do you think about what we put down on it? You know, all these different questions.

And the more he was talking about it, and then he shows me the business listing and things like this, the more I know that he has done some serious homework on this up until this point. So I said, okay, you’re very serious about this. That’s what. That’s where this is leading. This is not just, hey, what do you think of this little whimsical, you know, talk that we’re having? No, no, no, no, no. So, look, it’s Rosie’s friend out there. Anyways, so I told him, you know, he sends me all the ammo. We drive over there, we’re looking at the place.

And I was, you know, intrigued for him. But. But there was something that wasn’t right about something that’s not right about this. Don’t know what it is, but, you know, we’ll figure it out. We’ll figure it out soon. Now, I know people that have made the mistake of buying the wrong business. I know a guy who bought a Mexican restaurant two years ago, excuse me, three years ago, and they lied about the numbers. And the second he was there, his partner locked him out of the bank accounts and locked him out of the receivables and what the business did each day.

And the guy was basically lost his $80,000 that he put down as a down payment. And, oh, there’s nothing I can do. And I’m like, yeah, you could. And. And again, people make huge mistakes. We’ve all gotten into relationships that ended badly. And, wow, I never should have got myself into that. That’s where this is at. And if you can get somebody out of a problem in advance to where they don’t spend the money or they don’t, you know, you know, jeopardize their life savings as we get older. Yeah, you want to do that. You really, really want to do that.

And I don’t want him and his wife to have these problems. But I got very lucky because I have a friend that I talked about, and they had a raise money video. I got him on the phone yesterday and said, what do you think of this? And he had a million questions. But I said, just do me a favor and do your thing. Now, I want you to understand, to determine the value of a business, you can have people do this that are professionals. You can go to, you know, punch it into the business, you know, website that’s selling businesses.

You can ask AI what they think it’s worth. You can do things like that that are free and stupid, or you can get a consultant. I’m very lucky because I have these people that will help me out. And in a day, in a day, one guy is normally 6500 bucks up front. Another guy is 4 grand, that’s 10,000. And then the other guy is 2 grand for what he does for the loan, consulting and all this stuff that he gets. All these people get this money up front. Oh, Dan’s involved? No, no, no. Dan’s not involved.

I said, do not tell them that it’s me. This is my friend, and it’s not me. But they all did it for free. And so the Guy saved about $12,000 to find out that this thing is a complete lie, that there’s something up. My foreclosure buddy may get involved in this now because the thing may be in foreclosure at this point point where the guy’s lying about the numbers, not paying his bills. So once again, some of the best deals in our lives are the ones that don’t go together. And when people get excited about things and you, you know, a new relationship, a new business partner, a new job, if you would have done just an ounce of research, it would have been much, much better and made it so you wouldn’t have had the headache that people get later on in life.

And I’m telling you, as a business consultant, I get paid to do this. And it’s very good to have a disinterested third party that can come in and do your marketing. And my friends, women I date, people, they’re like, oh, will you help me with my website? Yes, I will do all that stuff. And I love doing that stuff. But sometimes you just need somebody else to sit there and step up and tell you this is the wrong thing, you know? So that’s where it happened with my friend. I really do. And I think that there are some companies that used to be fantastic companies that are no longer great. And the latest is Ford. Ford is a disaster, guys. It really, really is. And I’ve, every time I do this, I worked there. It’s fantastic. And you’re an idiot. You don’t know what unions are like, whatever. Okay, how about this? How about the number of recalls that Ford has had? And here’s an article from Yahoo and Fortune.

You know, recalls have been a bugaboo for Ford. A bugaboo? What’s a bugaboo? Well, let me tell you what they are. Between January 2024 and mid-2025, Ford initiated 94 recalls. 94. 94 separate recalls were issued. Oh my gosh, guys, there’s 52 weeks in a year. So do you understand that we had weeks during that time where there were more than one recall issued by Ford Motor Company. Congratulations for you Ford owners out there. By July, Ford had issued its 89th recall of 2025, easily surpassing the all time record of General Motors. General Motors in 2014 had 78 recalls for an entire year.

That is, that is an embarrassment, guys. That is something that everybody should be fired. And every single corporate executive that works there that had anything to do with that quality control or manufacturing or marketing or anything should, should never be allowed to be to work again in the automotive industry. That’s that. Now Ford in 2025, 2025 alone has had over 100 recalls in 2025. Okay, now it’s millions of cars. It is, like I said, it’s millions of cars. And the number, you know, Jim Farley, the CEO, our biggest problem is improving quality. Is to improve quality.

No kidding. Your biggest problem is, is the stuff that’s rolling off the assembly line is a joke. You know, number of vehicles got recalled. Ford actually recalled the same vehicle twice for the same thing. Gosh, go buy a Ford. Ford recalls the Ford Escape, Lincoln Corsair phevs for a second time. Ford and Lincoln Luxury Division are recalling 20,558 Escape Plug in hybrids between the years 2020 and 2024 and the Lincoln Corsair PHEV. Okay, models 21 to 24, due to a battery issue that caused a fire. Honey, do you smell that? Hey, you know our homeowner’s insurance, the house burned down because of the Ford.

They’re not going to cover our policy. Okay? Now Ford’s total Sales by year 2024, they did 2.8 million cars was up 4% 2023, 1.99 million cars. 2022 1.77 million cars and 2021, 1.9 million cars. Now here is the thing. People want to go back to the Ford way of life, the Henry Ford days. And I have a great story for you that’s linked below in the video description. Talking about how Henry Ford wanted his staff to have a living wage. So what he did at the time in 1914, okay, he paid his workers $5 a week, which was unheard of.

It was an obscene amount of money for a working class person to make $5 a week. But it made it so that you could afford to feed your children, rent a place, own a vehicle and live for five bucks a week. Okay, so a little over $20 a month is what he paid these people. And that was great. Okay? But the problem with it is that Ford is so hung up on that thinking that they are the same people now. I think the same problem happened with Disney. I met people that worked at Disney. My ex wife’s uncle bought a house on the water in Newport beach.

And this guy moves in next door and he was a complete jerk. I mean he was just so rude and, and he was a Disney person and, and hey, I’m part of the Disney family. It’s like I don’t know about you, you know what I mean? No one introduces himself that way unless you’re a snob. And again, insert swear word here about what a stuck up jerk this guy was. Okay? Anyways, you’re not, you know, you’re not Walt Disney. Okay? Is he gonna show up? Then I’ll talk to you. Is Henry Ford gonna show up? Do you remember the 2019 movie Ford vs Ferrari? And the owner of Ford, you know the name on that steering wheel says I’m ready for this.

That jerk that it was just predate werp portrayed so beautifully that the Ford family just were egotistical. And Jim Farley has made this a joke because now he’s talking about how young people don’t want to work now. Young people, you know, don’t want to have jobs. The problem with Ford right now, guys, is that people that work in the assembly line think about what I’m going to tell you. Cannot make ends meet. So they go out and they are working at Amazon part time. Read the article below. It’ll be the second one behind the recall festival for Ford.

But the point is, is that you can’t have a manufacturing company. Where are the unions for this? The unions, these people can’t make A living wage. They have to go work at Amazon part time. That’s insanity, guys. It’s absolutely nuts. But that’s where, you know, people don’t want to work right now. No, they want to work, but they don’t want to have six jobs and work at Ford. So let me know what you think about this because I, I was blown away by it. And as it gets dark, you guys can see it’s getting closer to the lights, getting a little brighter.

And this 10T score, these new FICO scores. There’s a lot of people that don’t have a lot of established credit. Being an older man and having a credit history, you know, I take pride in that. I take pride in my credit score and FICO score and things like that. They’re going to try to make it easier for people with what they call thin credit scores to get credit. I’m telling you guys, you know, oh, lucky you. You’re gonna go out and be able to borrow money. It’s like my friend with that business, hey, you know, this, this could destroy your 35 year marriage.

Go do it. You know what I mean? And again, if things work out and you hit a home run, great. But if they don’t, you have to reevaluate everything. But just the fact that you can get money doesn’t mean you should take money. Remember that. Remember that? California just got rid of its EV car pool lane stickers. Now here’s the thing. If you drove an electric vehicle, this, this is one reason to buy these cars. Because my brother had an electric vehicle at one point. He could drive in the carpool lane and he loved it. It just would save him time.

From Riverside county to Orange county, back and forth. I knew a woman who was like, you know, I don’t have the sticker, but I’ve got the EV car and drove in it for a year and a half until they pulled her over. Where’s your sticker I have to get the sticker. Oh, ma’, am, come on. I gotta write you up a ticket. Are you kidding? I thought when I bought this car, they told me I could drive. Yeah, but you have to apply for the sticker. So she talked her way out of it, but now there’s no more stickers.

As of December 1st, they got rid of those EV car stickers and the fine is $490. This is designed to save money. So what is the point of buying an EV car? Seriously, what is the point of that? Because, you know, you can’t drive in the carpool lane. You got to have your wife with you to make it work or you’re going to get yourself fined. Seriously fined $490. Plus we have this thing in California called penalty assessment based on the county that you’re in, because they can’t run themselves in a, an efficient way. So they charge anywhere from one and a half, sometimes to two times the fine.

So you could be looking at almost a thousand, thousand dollar fine for hopping in the carpool lane with the, without the sticker or the sticker’s Invalid as of December 1st. So you guys are doomed. So let me know what you think about that. You guys have that in other states. You guys have carpool shenanigans and your other states. I asked about the, you know, I asked about the, the storage units, and people sent me a bunch of news on that that was always fascinating to hear. What people pay for other stuff. Oh, I love this. Remember a couple days ago I talked about Subway and how they were going to have a new program where they were going to, you know, if you bought three Subway sandwiches, you get the fourth one free.

Well, hold the phone on that, because the franchisees are like, wait a Second, that’s a 25% coupon. You know, you know how many people lose those cards? You know how many people buy gift cards and don’t turn them in? It happens every single day of the week. It happens every holiday season. But now the franchisees are like, wait a second. We cannot afford to give. If somebody buys three sandwiches, then they leave. They can’t buy four sandwiches and get one free. It doesn’t work that way. You got to buy three, get it stamped, leave and have a new purchase.

Okay, fair enough. They’re saying, we don’t want to honor this. A lot of these people are not making money. Subway sandwich shops used to be a great business. It used to be something that these people could go out and they could make money hand over fist. They could basically have a store and make 200 grand a year. With one store, what do you do? You get another store, three, four, five stores. Make yourself a million dollars a year. Not anymore. It’s not working that way. But they don’t want to honor the Subway Club where you buy three sandwiches and get one free.

Everything is so expensive. There are no deals out there. You know, everybody’s sending me gas prices. We’re, I, I paid for regular gas today for the van. Almost $5 a gallon.489 a gallon for that. Ouch, Mama. Okay, this is across from the South Coast Plaza Hotel. This is a restaurant called Vaka across from there. That gets loud and people out here eating and that patio every night. But it’s just nice to see this thing lit up like this. And everybody says, oh, you film that and it’s so, your face is so dark. So I got out right at sunset for you.

You’re going to see more and more people have to have work qualifications to pay for this. Guys. When you have people that have completely fleeced a system, when you have people that have taken, you know, millions and millions of dollars to feed children and do things, you have to have some oversight, you have to have some yay and nay, you know, for this. Now there’s people that are going to be delayed. I have a buddy of mine telling me about his sister who is going through and getting some disability shenanigans that she’s filing for. And it’s been, it’s just been delayed and they’re asking tougher and tougher questions all the time of these people now.

You know, hey, you say you’re dissipated, you say you’re disabled. Prove it right now. That’s where they’re at right now. Final, final story, and this is a wild one. How many of you have gone out and bought a lottery ticket with your lottery pool? You know, people at work, friends, things like that. And funny, my friend that just told me about his sister in law, he and I Bought tickets together all the time. You know, hey, mega millions is a $200 million and above. Let’s go buy a ticket together. So he and I will go do that.

Now, there’s a guy in Canada, they withheld his name, but this guy went out and bought a ticket with two of his other buddies, and then they had residual, you know, rollover tickets with it. The rollover tickets won a million dollars Canadian. So that’s like $18. Okay, a little bit more than that. But with the Canadian money, this guy decided, I’m not going to share it with my friends. So the friends are like, wait a second. So he. The guy that won the money went full bore and had his picture taken at the lottery, went and did a press conference, and there’s photos of this clown.

What an idiot. What a. What a horrible human being to sit there and do this. Now he had to lawyer up, and it’s going to take a lot of the money. But the guy was like, hey, listen, he was entitled to certain things. No, no, no, no, no. The rollover. If you bought the ticket together and there was a rollover, my. My buddy Dave that’s done this with me. It’s like, hey, there’s $4 rolled over. I’m just going to go buy more tickets with it. It. I wasn’t worried about Dave winning, you know, $200 million and then beating me out of it, but this guy wins a million bucks and beats his friends out of it.

Isn’t that awful? That’s horrible. So I’m sure we’re going to hear more about this lawsuit, but the money’s frozen right now. Oh, can’t spend it Christmas, man.
