The 37 pages of heavily redacted documents revealed that before the shooting began, law enforcement agencies were broadcasting radio warnings about an unknown male acting suspiciously. According to the records, the individual was reportedly carrying bags and looking toward a sniper position. Multiple agencies, including the U.S. Secret Service, were alerted. The records also document suspicious activity immediately after the shooting. Multiple unnamed witnesses reported that just minutes after the shots were fired, a light silver Subaru sped out of a nearby parking lot at a dangerously high rate of speed.

The vehicle nearly struck a rally attendee before making a sharp turn and fleeing the area. The driver was described as an older white male. Witnesses noted that the terrain was far too rough for the speed at which the vehicle was traveling. Investigators were told that the vehicle did not appear to have any stickers or distinctive markings. Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton had this to say about the new documents. These documents raised troubling new questions about Secret Service failures to protect President Trump, and it shouldn’t have taken years in a lawsuit to get this basic FBI material about the near assassination of President Trump.
