Okay, so this is not clickbait. I am no longer making alert videos on this channel. Daily updates, geopolitical interviews and things of that nature are going to be moved to the channel called The Prepper News. Now, this is going to start immediately. In fact, the first video is going to be released today. Okay, so I would encourage you, if you’re interested in the Daily Intel Briefs and my own commentary and speculation and interviewing a wide variety of guests from epidemiologists to artificial intelligence experts, military analysts, geostrategists and on and on, then I would encourage you to go and subscribe to the Prepper News channel.
Now, it’s through the link in the description. There’s two channels out there. One is not mine. One is a channel that someone else created. The one that’s mine, I think, already has 40,000 subscribers. Okay, because I’ve been reminding people throughout the course of the last week that we’re moving over to that channel. So, the link will be in the pinned comment and in the description. No more alert videos. No more daily updates are going to be happening on the Canadian Prepper from this point forward. We are kind of scrubbing the content, if you will, keeping it vanilla, keeping it PG, and this channel is going to be strictly devoted towards practical preparedness.
Gear reviews. Definitely, there’s going to be interviews along the lines of preparedness. I believe we have Joel Salatin coming on the channel. He’s coming back to the channel. We’ve interviewed him before. So, guests of that nature are going to continue to be shown and given a platform on this channel. All things from first aid, to firearms, to communications, to various types of personal protective equipment, food, water, shelter, medicine. All of those topics we’re going to continue to talk about on Canadian Prepper. All the we may do some boilerplate debriefs, weekly debriefs, that are going to be very superficial and free of any sort of speculation.
Kind of just like a summary and how it might directly pertain to preparedness. But, if there isn’t a direct preparedness correlation between the two topics, then we’re not going to throw it on the Canadian Prepper channel anymore. So, we’ve realized that there are really two distinct audiences here. The people who are coming for the actionable content, who want information about how to actually get prepared and take action, and then there are people who are maybe already prepared, or that’s not their top priority, and they’re more interested in the intelligence briefs.
Which, they’re both equally important, in my opinion. I believe that good quality intel, which is what I aspire to provide on this channel, is like premium survival gear. Okay, you can get really bad Walmart generic quality survival gear, and then you can get the real high quality stuff. I would use the analogy of mainstream media versus what I provide people, which is a honest breakdown of what is going on that is free of, you can never say free of bias, because everybody’s always biased, but I’m not beholden to anybody or any end of the political spectrum, as people know.
I oscillate between all sides, so that is a commodity unto itself. Intel is important, and I’m done trying to convince people to prepare. I have to be under the assumption now, it’s an optimistic one, but the assumption that people who are only watching the daily update, doom scrolling stuff, are already squared away, so they don’t really need any more practical advice, although I think there’s always more you can do. And self-sufficiency is boundless. I mean, it is truly boundless. Really, you’re ultimately never entirely self-sufficient. It’s always, there’s diminishing returns in terms of, you know, you’re gonna get the gist of it after prepping for maybe five years or so, but in terms of mastery, in terms of, particularly in the realm of homesteading, there’s always going to be challenges.
It’s a constant battle, it’s a constant struggle for survival on the homestead, and you’re constantly at war with nature, and there’s no shortage of different approaches and methodologies to try to adjust those particular issues. Now, part of the reason why we’re doing this is because indeed, the two topics seem to counteract one another. YouTube tends to put you in either one of two baskets, your perennial content or your, you know, temporary content or annual content, in that your content that in the first 24 hours, it’s no longer relevant, and then you have other content that is fairly evergreen, as they say, where it’s going to be as relevant today as it is five years from now.
And these two things kind of counteract one another, so either you’re a news channel or you’re a gear channel. We’ve been trying to be very eclectic on the channel, and it’s almost like a broadcasting corporation of sorts, whereby you have like a news, or sorry, a channel on TV that, you know, there’s always something different that’s on. You’ll have dedicated channels like the Discovery Channel or something like that that just focuses on nature. Well, we focus on prepping, and under that umbrella falls our conversations with people, my daily updates, you know, the gear reviews, the how-to videos, and so on and so forth, but YouTube’s algorithm just doesn’t work like that, so we’re kind of, you know, constantly making a step forward and then making a step back, and so we’ve kind of entered a stasis of sorts on the channel, so we’re migrating everything over to the prepper news, even the branding is likely going to be a lot different, so people have been kind of conditioned to the alert, you know, thumbnails and videos, and the only reason why I do that is because it’s a differentiate, and so that people know exactly what they’re getting, so people have become to associate the alert videos with the daily updates.
I’m not sure what approach we’re going to take to the branding of all of that, because of course we want to make this information as universally approachable as possible, and it’s difficult to do that when you’re just sort of catering to the sensationalism and the alarmism, which is something that I never want to do, but unfortunately the algorithm puts you into this loop whereby if you don’t do that then there’s diminishing returns, so it’s a tough situation, and you know, we want to make our content more searchable as well, so I know this is kind of a dry conversation compared to what you’re used to getting on this channel, but my goal is to get people as informed and as prepared as possible, to try to give you the information and not in a way that is dictatorial or in a way that I’m directing you as to what to think or believe, but to give you the facts and you can formulate your own opinions with respect to the information, and the same is true with preparedness, because there’s variety of different ways to do things, we try to give you a wide plethora of ideas and concepts, and it’s up to you to kind of integrate whichever ones of those you feel are compatible with your preparedness strategy, so this is it guys, this is the last time I’m gonna, you know, be doing this sort of video on the Canadian Pepper Channel, and yeah, it’s, you know, the thing is nothing is really gonna fundamentally change except all the content is moving over to that channel, but I do feel as though we’re kind of turning a corner on turning over a new leaf, if you will, in terms of starting something new that I think is going to grow and become its own thing, and it’s gonna be largely distinct, so there’s not gonna be, the only thing prepper about prepper news is the fact that we’re still gonna be strictly focused on risk mitigation, I’m an SHTF actuarial scientist, a fecal matter hitting the oscillating device, so what did I call myself, a scatologist? That’s somebody who studies feces, but I study the fecal matter hitting the oscillating device, and so there’s always going to be that emphasis, I guess the prepper component is that we’re focusing on what could go wrong, and why information and having accurate intel being, whether it’s a day or a few hours or a few minutes ahead of the curve, can mean all the difference in terms of gaining some sort of comparative advantage when it comes to, you know, getting ready for whatever crisis is right around the corner, so this is why it’s so important that it’s not only about, you know, the gear and the how-to stuff, having the fore knowledge that bad things are coming or, you know, being able to, within a small margin of error, speculate and make accurate prognostications about the future, is vital to survival, it’s vital to, I mean, you know, classic examples are cases in war where a simple code breaking completely changed the tides of the war, you know, that happened in World War II, where, you know, if it wasn’t for one code being broken, one message being intercepted, things could have gone in a completely different direction, so information is absolutely essential, but I would always strongly encourage people that it’s one thing to get this information, but if it’s strictly a form of entertainment and it’s not being paired with taking action, then perhaps the priorities are in the right place, but again, who am I to preach the people, because everybody’s coming at this from a different angle, but anyways guys that’s it, so head on over to Prepper News, link in the description, it’s right there, people keep asking how do I get the link, it’s like I’ve been putting it in the pinned comment in the description for the last four videos, it’s right there, right down below here, you see, just scroll down, press the button, scroll down, go click subscribe, turn on notifications, and that’s where we’re, and it, you know, it’s gonna be liberating too, because I do hold back a little bit on this channel when it comes to what I say and how I present the information, so you know, I’m not gonna say it’s gonna be rated R, but you know, it’s not gonna be PG, that’s for sure, because we’re entering a whole you know, just regretting not doing it, so that’s it, so I’ll be back on this channel, we’re still making tons of content on this channel, it’s just going to be more vanilla blue strip stuff, strictly information, entertainment, more fun, engaging stuff, because despite the stigma and the association with negativity and cynicism, we’d like to have fun, we like to enjoy ourselves, and that’s evident if you watch any of our blue strip videos, we like to joke around, and that’s the only way you can really maintain your sanity when you’re knee deep in the information that I’m in, so anyways, up until this point, thanks for being a subscriber, and if you want to hear me talk about daily events from this point forward, link in the description, thanks for watching my friends, see you there tonight.
