You know so many times in this country We the people’s voice is not heard But sometimes when a major celebrity makes a push it gets a lot more attention for some reason Well a huge major celebrity is making a big push to have his Second Amendment rights restored And he might be the one who can move the needle in this debate surrounding returning rights to nonviolent felons You know they’ve been released back into society after all welcome back to Guns and Gadgets everybody I am Jared and this is your premier source for Second Amendment news if you love constitutional commentary news that matters about the right we love and Unapologetic defense of those rights smash the like button subscribe to this channel and bring that bill notification So you never miss a beat and today we’re talking about a headline that’s blowing up all over social media And it’s not about Congress nor is it about the Supreme Court? It’s about Jelly Roll the country music superstar in his fight to get his gun rights back Now that’s right a famous musician and by all accounts a kind-hearted human He just injected himself into this debate about felon firearm bands and redemption in America Let’s break it down first off who is Jelly Roll some of you might be saying who the heck is that? Well for those who don’t know Jelly Roll is a country artist here in Tennessee with millions of fans No, not just for his music but for openly talking about his troubled past He spent years in and out of jail with over 40 arrests for various offenses Including some serious convictions at age 16 for aggravated robbery and drug charges and he was tried as an adult Now successful very successful.
He’s using his platform to raise a controversial question And he did this on the Joe Rogan podcast a couple days ago Should a felon even one with a serious past be able to regain firearms rights once they’ve turned their life around Now Jelly Roll appeared on the Joe Rogan experience the other day and explained his parole terms And how they prohibit him from ever owning possessing or even firing a gun period He’s now filed paperwork to hopefully receive a pardon here in Tennessee from governor bill lee And he says if he does get a pardon State law still will not fully restore his rights because Tennessee maintains a lifetime ban for violent offenders He told Joe Rogan this He said There should be some path to redemption even if it takes 30 years Now, what is Jelly Roll asking for? He wants to own a rifle so that he can hunt again Something he says has helped his mental and physical health He also wants a system where rehabilitated rehabilitated people not just the wealthy or well connected Can regain fundamental rights including the ability to responsibly own firearms He also says if he could legally carry he wouldn’t need half of that expensive private private security detail He pays for today.
He said that he’s a million dollars is what he pays This year for security. That’s a big that’s a big one a million bucks just for security now before we Talk about the people’s response I want to thank patriot gold for sponsoring this video gold has nearly doubled the performance of the s&p over the last 25 years and since 2000 $10,000 in gold has turned into a hundred and twenty seven thousand dollars and 10k in the s&p is 77k So gold’s been doing pretty good. The message to the public is clear buying gold is a good idea Associate general is insisted that this is not a bubble and gold will break through five thousand dollars an ounce China’s 2025 gold purchases are likely 10 times higher than what’s actually being reported Then there are no one-off purchases.
This is a steady and sustained accumulation for the next decade The only currency that china or russia can trust is gold and that should tell you something The monetary system is entering a period of profound transition Gold’s recent surge is not the end of the story. It’s the opening chapter Previous rallies in the 70s 2008 and 2011 were crisis protection and this rally is institutional Structural driven by central banks and sovereign wealth funds. They’re trying to buy up everything they can The wisdom tree has said that there’s a quiet revolution taking shape in portfolios and the decade-long 60 40 split Is being replaced by the new 60 2020 split with 20 in real assets like physical gold Now the best time to buy is ahead of the new year gold has outperformed the first three months of the last 10 years Everyone’s new year resolution should be to buy some gold Call the proud americans of the patriot gold group today before it’s too late Mention guns and gadgets and you’ll always get the best in class service from patriots protecting patriots Patriot gold group has the no fee for life.

So thank you to patriot gold Now as you can imagine back to this jelly roll story Reactions are everywhere online. Some say the jelly roll is right that once someone has truly changed They shouldn’t be banned from their constitutional rights for life others hit back hard pointing out the jelly rolls criminal history And calling this a dangerous precedent for others Now the policy politicians here love that line, but more on that here in a bit now Let’s get to the core constitutional issue here The second amendment doesn’t just say that you can keep and bear arms as a privilege that depends on government whims It says it’s a right that shall not be infringed that includes all law-abiding citizens All law-abiding citizens and if they are no longer serving their debt to society and they are law-abiding citizens They should get their rights back yet across this country and especially in states like tennessee the government treats felons And the disarmament of felons as a permanent punishment even long after debts to society have been paid And this brings up a huge question When does a person stop being a danger and start being a citizen again? Does redemption end where a firearm ban begins? Now america is supposed to be the land of second chances the founders believed in justice sure But they also believed in redemption in human dignity and in the possibility that a man could change But modern gun laws often treat a felony as a forever sentence No matter how long ago it happened no matter the Changes someone has made to their life no matter their contributions to society since then A jelly roll is not saying everyone should get guns back even he on the joe rogan podcast acknowledged There should be serious limits for violent criminals like murderers or rapists but For less severe offenses even non-violent offenses.
There shouldn’t be Anything like this. This should be a legal pathway to earn back constitutional rights Once a person has proven they’ve been rehabilitated I mean that’s exactly what jelly roll is arguing for anyway Folks, whether you love jelly roll or think celebrities should stay out of politics. This isn’t a country Where we should just take away the rights of somebody forever This is a second amendment test case in my Opinion and public opinion about redemption rehabilitation and rights restoration is about to be tested here If the government starts carving out systems for restored rights It could set a precedent for a broader reform Maybe it could pressure states to rethink lifetime bans that don’t differentiate between past and present And could everyday americans not just famous ones benefit from a structured path toward a lawful gun ownership again These are some big questions and we all should be watching them closely Here’s where you come in drop a comment down below.
Let me know should a rehabilitated felon Non-violent or whatever be able to regain firearms rights and before you just say fella. No, never again You need to understand what a felony is So do your homework understand what a felony is and how easy it is in some states to get a felony for something simple Like a fight when you were a younger person I mean how many people although I know the list is bigger and bigger every year people who’ve never been into a fight and it shows In this country, but most of us gen xers we fought for fun And you could get a felony over that.
So let me know what you think down below share the video with some friends and some family uh and Talk about this with each other tag your state legislators as well and demand a meaningful path to redemption that respects the constitution Because at the end of this day here This debate right here is exactly why we engage in the fight for the second amendment every single day We just don’t forget about certain things. We want it all restored It’s the way the founders wanted it Thank you for watching guns and gadgets where freedom isn’t optional and your rights matter I am jared and i’ll see you on the next video.
Stay free Stay armed and stay with the truth. I appreciate y’all. Have a great day. Take care You
