Hey, it’s Dan. Welcome back to I Allegedly. I’ve got a good one for you today, because it’s time to be prepped and ready for what’s happening right now. You know, I had some work being done at the house, and one thing I do is if I know I have to be there, I schedule other things to happen. Phone calls, and work, and multiple people to come to the house at the same time. It’s always worked out well for me.

Well, what happened was, all of a sudden, about 10 minutes away from having people come to the house, the power goes off in the house. And I’m like, uh-oh, what’s going on here? And then I remember there was a text that was sent to me a week before that the power company was going to be doing maintenance on the power, and it affected my entire community. There were 350 homes that were shut off and didn’t have power. And originally, it was going to be two hours, four hours, and then they kept extending it. So, I had people come over, and, you know, do you need water for the pump? Do you need, you know, hot water? Do you need electricity? All these different things that I just didn’t plan for, and it reminded me that you need to be, you know, ready for stuff like this.

Now, I have backup power supplies, and I have things that, you know, you plug in that make it so you have power. I could go camping, I could go and have people work in the house, and here’s your power source, go. If they don’t have a cordless drill, if they have certain water pumps and things like that that they had to work with. But this reminds me because that was the same day that Verizon went out across the country. And here is the reminder to be prepped and ready. You have to understand, we talk about being financially ready, but you’ve got to be socially ready.

You’ve got to be ready for your protection, for your house, to feed yourself, and it’s time. We have all these reminders that hit us, and it’s the perfect time. But the cool thing was it had everything you would need in there to live from food, perishable food, to, they gave me ten silver coins to barter if I had to take off. It had areas for my important documents in the house. And it’s funny, as I’m sitting there, I go, I wonder if that thing’s still packed up, if my assistant Ashley left it intact, and I opened it up, and it’s, I’m telling you, the house could burn down. And I would be okay, because I had everything in that bag. And not everybody’s Dan, not everybody’s lucky that you have all this extra people around you, that look out and make sure that my house is clean, you know.

And that go bag was a perfect example. You have to be ready for things like this. Verizon went down. If you had a Verizon account two days ago, you could not make phone calls, you could not make texts. And the perfect example is my friend Dave, we had a dinner with eight guys the other night, and his wife was trying to reach him, which is a real problem. And she went to Las Vegas to see the Wizard of Oz, which was nice, you know. But because Dave’s a man, he didn’t want to go see the Wizard of Oz.

So he let his wife and her friends go. But inevitably, Dave went out, and she was trying to reach him and couldn’t reach him for an extended period of time. What do you do in situations like that? Now, I’m not talking about two hours, four hours. I’ve done some extensive research for you. There’s a lot of great stories below about what happens if you have the power go, you know, goes out for two or three days. There’s people that have medical equipment, and they couldn’t be ready for this. If you have loved ones, and I remember when Lisa was sick in the house, and my daughter and I talked about this this morning, how the power went off twice in Huntington Beach, California.

And the longest was three hours, which is not a big deal. But when she’s on oxygen, it was a mess, which made us get all these backup power sources and things like that for when she was around. What do you do if this happens? What do you do if your house burns down? I’m telling you guys, you really need to be ready for whatever could happen right now and get yourself prepared for this. We were told about an Iranian bank. This is what caused all the ruckus in Iran, was that a bank went down for the count.

I don’t believe it. I just think Iran is a mess. But they can sit there and blame it on the bank. But they couldn’t get money out of the banks in Iran. And then it started to affect other banks and created bank runs and problems. Verizon has not been able to, for you to be able to send a text message or be able to call somebody would be catastrophic for most people. You have to be ready for stuff like this. Now, I put together a list for you and what the average person needs to have for an extended period of time.

Everybody’s different. But could you live today? The power goes out. You have no access to anything. Now, guys, I could walk a mile to the grocery store. It wasn’t like I live in the middle of nowhere. I could go and I could go buy gas at the local gas station. Everything was fine. It was just an inconvenience for the house. But what happens when it’s not an inconvenience? I am walking around right now here in Southern California and it is 80 degrees, 80, 80, 80, 80. And we have those Santa Ana wind conditions that we get usually around the first part of the year.

But last year at this time, Malibu was torched and so was the Eaton Fire and that whole area was done because of this hot weather and these winds that come out. What do you do? Did people learn their lesson? Did they get ready? Well, I’ve got all this stuff that I could live for an extended period of time. You have to have this in your house. We always talk about being financially ready, but you need to be ready if something goes wrong. Do you have a plan to communicate with people? My children, you know, my daughter was traveling, you know, out of the country, out of the state right now and going to a national show that she’s at.

And my son is in Boston, freezing. But we have a plan for communication with things like this. And I have multiple cell phones that are connected to different companies and one thing that was very funny about this was that T-Mobile and AT&T just trolled Verizon and said, we don’t leave our customers in the lurch. We take care of our customers and made comedy out of it. But they got people to sign up. So it’s funny. I have multiple cell phone companies. When you’re older, you can say, oh, what a waste of money. No, it’s not because the one thing, the third thing that I have that you probably don’t have is I have wireless internet that’s not connected to either one of those companies.

And it’s not connected to Verizon either. It’s a completely independent company and the first thing I did, click a button, turn it on, and I had internet while this was going on today. So you know what I’m saying? Do yourself a favor. Research this. Research having the go bag. If you want to go extreme and you live out of the area and you don’t have access to things, look at things like the satellite phones. Those are fantastic. Whenever I go on a cruise, I carry the satellite phone and I’m sitting there in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean calling people just for S and giggles.

I always do that. So protect yourself. Be ready and plan for this because it’s happening and it’s going to happen more and more and more. But again, how many warnings do you have to have until you take it seriously? You sit there and say, gosh, I could really be, you know, I would be screwed if I didn’t have power for a day. Two days, three days, five days a week. What happens? You know, they talk about society breaking down and people going door to door and doing heinous things. Well, yeah, you know, you’re talking about 350 houses that didn’t have power for half a day.

Oh, well, most people go to work and don’t even, you know, aren’t affected by it. But just get yourself ready. Food, clothing, your medicines, everything that you would need to live. If you had to go someplace, do you know where all your important documents are? Here is a reminder after the first of the year, we’ve already passed the 13th of the month. Most people have given up on their New Year’s resolutions already. Don’t be that person. Be the person that plans and is going to make 2026 the best year of their lives.

That was a really good article because it covers basically everything, and you need to think out of the box right now. But just a reminder, a reminder about your safety, a reminder about your food, a reminder about everything in your life, know where people are at, and have a plan if something happens, because no one plans in their house in Malibu burning down.

What do you do? All these people that I’ve talked to since then have told me, wow, we now have a plan. Good, have one before disaster strikes, guys. Have one before disaster strikes. I am sick of being told that things are good all over the economy. All I do is share with you stories about how bad things are, but I hate when people get taken advantage of in any way, shape, or form. Brian Moynihan, the CEO of Bank of America, is like, you know, we’re getting bullish on the economy now. We’re turning the corner, and we think that things are going to be great with the economy.

Okay, thanks, Bank of America. We’ll see if that happens, and I hope he’s right. Now, the problem with this is that do you want interest rates to go down? Most people do, and it’s going to set off in Shenaniganville where they’re going to just start printing money like they did in Iran. That was the problem with this Iranian bank that went out of business, was that they promised the highest interest rates. It’s so unregulated there, it’s sick, but they made a bunch of risky loans to a bunch of imbeciles that went bad, and they didn’t get paid.

And with that, it actually ended up forcing the bank out of business. So that can happen, and it did. You don’t want that to happen to here, to come here. You know, we saw what happened last time. They gave everybody cash, and they lowered interest rates to the floor. We had inflation at 10% that we still haven’t gotten over. You know, DoorDash and Uber Eats, the majority of those people make money from tips. It is not the windfall side hustle that it used to be. Just like Uber, driving for Uber used to be people could make a great living.

I met a guy that was driving for Uber that was making two grand a week doing that, driving his car, and that would be in bed by 5 o’clock at night. Now, it’s not like that anymore. And the problem with New York City was they determined that Uber Eats and DoorDash have cheated people out of their tips. Now you can sit there and go, oh wow, how much did they take? The average person lost $5,800 in tips. $5,800. Now, I want you to think about this. Would your life be a little better with $5,800 in your bank account or buying silver or stocking for supplies around your house? Of course.

So the average person that got beat out of this, right now the Mamdani administration in New York City is saying that this could equal $550 million and them beating people out of that. That is crazy. It’s crazy. So it’s too much money. Now, whenever you have something that comes out that’s innovative, whether it’s weight loss, whether it’s fitness, whether it’s a food product, there’s always the knockoffs. And I am telling you this right now. I want you to tell me the 10-year ramifications for taking Ozimpic. Okay? What about… No, I’m not talking about the people that have type 2 diabetes that are supposed to take that stuff.

And there’s an argument that it’s harmful either way. Anyways, what about people that just want to lose weight and take a pill? Those people. There’s no reports yet, but now here come the knockoffs. And it’s sickening because the peptide gray market where people are, you know, buying Botox and fillers and GLP ones, all these horrific things just to save a buck. I am telling you this right now, fat ass. Eat better. Go exercise. You know, my friend Mike, oh my God. Every time the guy calls me, he’s just sitting there working out and, yeah, I’m out with the dog right now, just thought I’d give you a call.

Okay, that’s a guy getting himself in shape naturally. Oh my gosh, and you know what he’s also doing? Eating right. So let me see. He’s burning calories and taking in less crap. Oh, okay. That guy doesn’t eat crap. But anyways, you get what I’m saying. The point is, is that all this gray market, you have no idea what is happening with this stuff and how bad it is for everybody. We don’t have the numbers for it. Jackson Brown, the singer, his son died from an accidental fentanyl overdose from something he was given that he did not know.

I’ve seen Jackson Brown perform a few times and that is horrific that anybody would go through this, especially a parent hearing that their son died from an accidental fentanyl overdose. But this crap on the gray market, it’s not regulated. Let’s go to Iran together. Let’s go buy an Iranian investment. Do you see what I’m saying? It doesn’t seem very prudent. No, it’s not stupid. So pull yourself together. Have some common sense with this stuff. Please, please eat right, do everything. I love the guy. The guy does wacky stuff where he’ll give out $100,000, give out millions of dollars.

He’ll have a project that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars and then he’ll give away 200 of it. It’s just nuts. But I love MrBeast and read that story. It’s good. And then the final, final, final, final story was Good Old Seattle. The train keeps coming around me. Good Old Seattle is a crime asshole, okay? So the asshole that is Seattle has what they consider to be the world’s most dangerous McDonald’s. In fact, the neighbors call it McStabby’s because there’s been so much crime there and you can get an idea of what kind of crime they have at McStabby’s.

Well, needless to say, you cannot go inside of the McStabby’s. You have to stay outside. They have a plexiglass door that they slide open and hand you your food. Wouldn’t that sound like a safe place to eat and sound clean and cleanliness? Oh my gosh, that’s probably their middle name. But Good Old McDonald’s, letting them stay open, and McStabby’s is there at Third and Pine. If you guys want to go to Seattle, I am telling you, you’re going to have cities that will be ran like Third World countries soon. Seattle’s going to be one of them.

And the race is on between Seattle and New York City. You can’t have lawlessness in everything. You just can’t because there’s people out there and like, yeah, let’s go, let’s go wreak havoc, okay?
