This one is an opinion piece, a progressive attack on Washington’s sheriffs. And it basically says it’s a battle over power. Obviously it is. And she makes the point that the sheriff is in fact elected. And we’ve covered this a million times. But just listening to you a few minutes ago, it doesn’t seem that most people fully understand the difference between what a sheriff is and a state cop. What a sheriff is and the town cops and other individuals that do security for the state. They don’t have any reason or mandate or any legal recourse for even trying to defend the public from any sort of encouragement on their rights or harm, et cetera, done by the state.
That’s in fact what they do is protect the state. Definitely they’re going to be showing up in front of the governor’s house if a group of people come over to protest. So in this case, we’re talking about a direct assault on the individual’s rights from many, many fronts. And this is another one that they have seen as an opening. And they know that in their hearts that it has to go. The sheriff is a last standing man. And I don’t care. You know, I want to just ramble for a second. But a lot of people complain, well, yeah, well, my sheriff in my county was a bad guy.
He did this and that and the other and whatever. That happens. And, hey, that’s the name of the game. But if you don’t have that, you can’t have what you can get from a really incredible person. Say like Darleaf, which I have an article here about him praising him for his courage and ability to stand up for the people. If you don’t have the ability to get a total rear end, if you will, in the office from time to time, then you don’t actually have any rights at all. I mean, you don’t have any say.
And for that not to be clear is really, really scary. And I think we’ve all seen good sheriffs and bad sheriffs. But right now, we could use a lot of good sheriffs. And in this case, this is what they’re actually being, they’re most afraid of. And I think, Sheriff Maggie, you have some part in that. I mean, Bob Sanger is not something, Bob Sanger is known all over the nation. Anyone who’s even slightly interested in sheriffing and the idea of a constitutional sheriff, which is kind of not necessary to say a sheriff’s supposed to be constitutional, knows of Bob Sanger, right? And they know the kind of processes that he’s begun in Washington state and his history and his size of his posse, et cetera.
And I think that’s got to be scary. I don’t think that these people want to be able to be told no. They don’t want somebody to stand up and say, no, I don’t think you have to follow this particular regulation rule, et cetera, because it’s unconstitutional. So anyway, this article is a nice little commentary by this lady, Nancy Churchill. She talks about what Bill 1399 really does. But it’s also amazing that at the same time, they decided they would create the next bill. And anyway, it’s a scary time in Washington state. [tr:trw].
