Northeastern University is in Boston, Massachusetts. There is a student there, Ella Stapleton, and in her business class she had a feeling that her professor was using AI to teach his class.

And she got more and more suspicious as time went by. And now here’s the thing about high school students and college students is that you can’t use AI to answer questions. You can’t use AI to write your papers. You’re supposed to do the work on your own. Well, the same thing happened with this student at Northeastern where she’s sitting there saying, wait a second, I think my professor is using AI in our classroom and there’s telltale science. And from somebody that uses AI a lot, you know, they leave certain markings and things like that in the papers.

And this guy, her professor, Rick Atwood, had no problem with, you know, doing this. And she was like, wait a second, you’re not teaching me. And what he would do is he would write class outlines, he would write papers, he would write questions for tests, using chat GPT, perplexity, which is another great, these are great AI programs. The one that he used a lot that I’ve used is just fantastic, is something called gamma.ai, and it will do presentations for you. You can tell it a subject and it will do, how many, how many, you know, slides would you like? And it will write a presentation for you.

He would do that for his class. And she caught him, wait a second, she’s like, I can’t use AI, you shouldn’t use AI. And how am I teaching? If you’re not teaching us the class. So she went to Northeastern University and said, I want my money back. I want to refund for the class for you teaching us via AI. And with that, Northeastern says, okay, we’ll take it under review. And she supplied all the evidence that this in fact was fake. And, you know, this guy came clean and said, yeah, you know what, I have used AI for certain things.

It’s not as bad as she’s saying. Everybody does it. Well, wait a second, students can’t do it, you shouldn’t do it. We’ve all had bad teachers in our lives. We have, you can remember them sometimes better than the good teachers because they just stood out with the lack of help, the lack of follow-through, their horrible lesson prep. And this screams to that. So with that being said, Rick Atwood got caught. Now, to go to Northeastern University, I looked it up. It’s 90 to a hundred grand a year, 90 to a hundred thousand dollars a year.

Do you want your kid or your grandkids attending a college knowing that this is being taught by artificial intelligence? No, of course not. Now, is artificial intelligence gonna play a bigger role in all our lives? 100%. Guys, you’re gonna have every type of diagnosis done with this and that’s gonna, it’s gonna be there, okay? But I’m telling you, this woman, I am on Ella’s side, okay? I really am. I just think that she, you know, she caught something and she wanted a refund. Now, after review, the college said, no, we’re not gonna give you a refund, which is a scam.

That’s the worst part about this whole thing. So you kept somebody doing something wrong and they’re not going to write the check for that. So I thought that was awful and I want to know what you guys think about that. But the other thing was, I got an email today from Ellen and Ellen used to live in Florida and Ellen proceeds to write and say, wow, Dan, you know, I love your show, I watch it every day, but you are so gung-ho about insurance and I just think it’s such a scam and my husband and I sat down and we said, if things ever get really bad, we would get rid of our insurance.

Now, I am telling you guys, you cannot do this, okay? It is impossible. If you have a mortgage on your property, you have to have homeowners insurance. You have to have it. If you have fire insurance, okay? Well, we would just go blind. I have seen houses foreclosed on. I have posted houses. I filmed houses getting foreclosed on where a woman owned. Think about this number, $9,600 on a house. The house was the biggest piece of crap I’ve ever seen in my life, but that’s what she owned in the house and lost her insurance.

And with that, they’re calling the mortgage in. So we’re going to foreclose on you. So Doug went out and posted that house for foreclosure. Now, you have to have insurance. Am I pro insurance? Am I a big fan of insurance? Of course not. But what I’m a fan of is you being your own advocate. Just like Ella was her own advocate with that school, you’ve got to be your own advocate with the insurance company. I am telling you this right now. State Farm just got approved for another 19% price increase in the state I’m walking in right now.

It’s criminal, guys. It’s absolutely criminal. They’re delaying claims. Ellen wrote me and said, you know that 40 to 50% of all insurance claims don’t get paid and they delay them. Yes, yes, they do. Now, here is the thing. You know, Lisa, my late girlfriend, was a law professor, taught people to pass the bar exam. I met, you know, I shed over a thousand students in her lifetime. The majority of them loved her and were there at her memorial. The state bar was at her memorial. Well, kind of let me leave it at that.

The point was was that lawyer after lawyer after lawyer would help me and you need to have an advocate for you that’s going to do this. Now, again, your idiot nephew. Oh, he’s going to write a tough letter. He’s going to he’s going to make a phone call or two. You can do it that way. Okay. But I’m telling you, figure things out and let people know that you’re somebody that’s not going to be messed with. You know, the last video I did about these people getting checks bounced from the Fed and from FEMA.

You know, do I believe this is going to get fixed someday? Yes. Is it going to get fixed this afternoon? No, it’s not. So with that being said, I’m going to show you guys the higher tide also. With that being said, you have to be your own advocate when it comes to these insurance companies. Are they a den of thieves? Yes, they are. They’re absolutely criminals. They absolutely rip us off. They charge us too much. Get into an accident. Your rates go through the roof. If you can maintain your insurance, but you have to have it.

I’m telling you this the same thing. I wrote Ellen back because I was on my cruise on my birthday and a woman walked up to me and told me about her parents in the Palisades that owned a house between was worth between four and five million dollars. And 18 months prior to that, they canceled their homeowners insurance and the house burnt down to the ground. Now they don’t have insurance. They don’t have a mortgage on the house, but they have a bill and they have to clean up that toxic waste of all the crap that burnt down and fight for a place to live right now.

Hello. Okay. I don’t know why I was thinking about this one, but I had an SUV years ago that was in and out of the shop a lot. And I drove a lot as a sales rep. And I have the mechanic that was very reliable. Tell me that, hey, listen, as we were torquing down the head gasket, one of the bolts broke and snapped off inside your motor. And this is a common problem with your SUV. And you have to understand, you’re going to have to pay X amount of dollars to have this thing drilled out and do it.

And I’m like, listen, it sounds like you did it. So my buddy Scott, who was a motorhead, I said, listen, let me take you to lunch. Can you do it in the next two days? Sure. How about tomorrow? They said, I want you to make one stop with me and tell me if you think this is right. So I took Scott down there and they explained what happened. He says, no way you guys talk this too tight. You better fix this. You have insurance, you guys broke it. And because of that, they fixed the car for free that they wanted to charge me $1,800 for.

Okay, so again, get a Scott in your life, get an advocate, get somebody to do something right for you that can give you advice, not something that’s going to yell and use profanity and just freak out. That’s not the point. Nobody wants to see that. Okay, it’s not as effective as some guy telling them schooling these guys on how they broke this and they did this. Okay, so once again, Ellen, don’t fly blind. If you live in the middle of nowhere, and you don’t need to have insurance, and you’re not worried about losing anything, or somebody tripping and falling.

I’m telling you have somebody trip at your house, have someone get you know, have Rosie go rabbit and fight somebody, you have to have insurance guys, you have to, you have to, you have to, you okay. Oh, that’s not going to happen down. My dog Jesse is so good. Okay, I know I always hear this stuff. Okay. Get your money back, do the right thing, pay for stuff. You know, USAA insurance used to be a great insurance company used to give refunds. And when when things went right for people, they would give money back don’t do that anymore.

You know, you need more advocates for that. So again, don’t forget to sign up for the email list because it’s good. We got a good email going out. And if you have any questions, send it to me. But again, Ellen was nice in her letter. I was nice back. I’m not I’m not slamming Ellen on this. I’m just saying you can’t do this. You can’t do this on your own. No one has that much money for this. It’s like health insurance. You have to have health insurance. Do they pay for everything? No, do you have to fight for everything? 100%.

Now, I have an aunt that’s ill right now. And I was telling my uncle, you know, there’s things that we can get for her. Because I learned this with Lisa where they would go out and you would you could get different nurses and different programs and things that your insurance will pay for not every day, but they’ll come out maybe one day a week, two days a week, things like that. That’s what you need to do. Look at the benefits of what you’re paying for the older you get and and get your money back on something like this.
