➡ A scandal involving a mayor, who was seen in a bikini giving alcohol to minors and was accused of having a sexual encounter with a minor, has been covered by KPLC TV reporter Devin Cruz. The mayor’s own son and other witnesses testified about the incident, and there was also a claim about the mayor ordering a morning-after pill. The mayor’s ex-husband also testified against her in the trial. This shocking event has caused a lot of public outrage and disbelief.

The jury in the Misty Roberts trial heard from new witnesses today. Good evening, I’m Cynthia R. Snow. The children of the former DeRitter mayor took the stand today in day four of her trial. KPLC’s Devin Cruz joins us live from DeRitter. Devin? Yes, Cynthia. As you said, the former mayor here, Misty Roberts, is on trial for two felony charges, and today we had a lot of details and a lot of testimony. We heard from at least six witnesses. I’ll try and jump right in and give you as much as I can. So starting off the top, jurors saw pictures of the 2024 party in question, including kids holding drinks by the pool and a photograph prosecutors are calling lewd.

That picture showed Roberts at the party in her bikini and the teen looking up at her smiling. The majority of their bodies were not visible in that photograph. Text messages were presented by the prosecution between Roberts and her son, including what alcohol the kids wanted for the party and through the evening, as Robert’s son told her what was happening was crazy and that his little sister was crying. He hears her son also texted Roberts that quote he is 17. However, the boy was actually 16 at the time. That younger sibling also took the stand while her interview with investigators played in it.

She said she saw her mother and the young man quote on top of each other that night. Roberts nephew admitted to using his phone camera to see what was happening in the room that night. He testified that he’s unsure if he hit record but said if so, it was never sent to anyone and he since wiped his Snapchat memories. The defense asked his then her nephew why he cleared his Snapchat before turning it over to investigators and he says it was because he had photos of him and his friends drinking and was worried he was going to get in trouble.

Now the defense implied in court that an important portion of Robert’s son’s interview was not transcribed. Attorney Adam Johnson says the interviewer said at one point quote just say it once and we can move on end quote while the transcription notates that it was unintelligible. Today Robert’s son also agreed that’s what was said. There’s only so many details I can give you from out here. We’ll have a full report online and also we’ll be here tomorrow morning at 9 a.m as the trial continues into the weekend but for now reporting here in DeRitter.

I’m just talking about in general, guys a lot of times that don’t want to deal with the childish, foolish, bullshit, CA that happened to you, that don’t want to deal with the childish stuff, they deal with women that are older because the women that’s older, they didn’t seen it before. They didn’t already been there. They’ve been to a nice restaurant. They already didn’t been busted down before and already been through some stuff. They didn’t seen some stuff.

Their ex-husband abused them. So they used, they used to some stuff. They not, that’s why. So when I see these teachers, right? Because this is not a new thing. We see parents, teachers get arrested. These female teachers getting arrested all the time. Now they fucked up in the head, right? Dumb as hell. There’s no way that we can put this together and say, oh man, you know what? Maybe she did it because of this reason. No, she up there texting minors asking them what kind of liquor that they want and busting it down at a pool party like she 13.

What are you doing? Are you trying to relive your childhood? Do you not realize that you’re a grown woman? But here’s the other part about it. She, she had, she had to be basing out or high because how do you not think that it’s going to get around the school that everybody not going to be texting about it. Everybody not going to be recording it. Everybody not going to be sharing videos of you busting down or you getting busted down by a 16, 17 year old in school. What did you think was going to happen? What you thought was going to happen? That’s what young people do.

The younger they are, the more they talk, the more they gossip, unless you are a man on YouTube that dick watch other men on YouTube. Neither here nor there. Unless you’re a gossip girl on YouTube, that’s a man that’s a woman in a man’s body. That’s a whole other conversation. But that, the younger they are, the more that they talk, more that they want somebody to know the more that they want to show you, the more they got to see it, the more they got it. That’s what they do. Boys talk, girls talk, especially about if they was able to buzz down somebody’s mama.

Mayor Misty Roberts was accused of applying. You know, the funniest part about this is they don’t even be bad looking. They don’t be like bugger wolves. They don’t be toe up. They don’t be fucked up. You know what I’m saying? They be, they be a, they beat a chick that you would, you will run into in Nashville and she just, she just a freak. Like she not even a bad looking woman. And that’s what I’d be trying to understand. Like, is something wrong in their head? It’s got to be something wrong. It’s got to be something wrong.

While wearing only a bikini, KPLC TV reporter Devin Cruz covered every day of the sensational trial. The mayor was seen in a bikini, giving alcohol to minors. She was seen in a bikini and several witnesses testified that Miss Roberts or Missy Roberts had gotten the alcohol for the kids and had stocked the fridge. They were by the pool and they began kissing.

Then they went inside the mayor’s home. Her own 16 year old son told investigators that he saw his mother having sex with his friend through the window and that kids at the party had video. Court testimony revealed the mayor’s younger daughter was crying at the party and asking people to go and make the victim and the sexual encounter and feared a possible pregnancy, texting the mayor out of respect for both our families. Can you assure me that you can’t be pregnant? Yes. Responded the mayor stating that she was on birth control.

There was also testimony from a door dash delivery driver who said that he received an order from the mayor for the morning after abortion pill to be delivered to her doorstep after the party. Jurors began to deliberate last. This is crazy, bro. This is absolutely insane. You take in the morning after you taking a plan B. So wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. So y’all at the party, you got a daughter and you got a son and and dog is in the window and you know people be knowing they know that the window open.

They know that everybody doing Dougie on your chick. You’re doing a Dougie on your mama. You’re doing a Dougie on your mama. God, I’m not sure that this is there’s a worst story that we can have today. They doing the Dougie the Dougie on your mama in the window in front of everybody. I dog. Honestly, I will be off.
