Summary

➡ The video warns about potential widespread blackouts in the US due to the country’s reliance on renewable energy sources like solar and wind, which are not as reliable as nuclear and regular power plants. The speaker mentions that the power grid and power plants have not been adequately maintained or upgraded, which could lead to 25% of the country experiencing rolling blackouts by 2025. The speaker also highlights that the push for solar energy and electric cars could strain the power grid further, especially if a natural disaster occurs. Lastly, the speaker suggests that these issues could lead to increased energy costs and encourages viewers to save energy and reduce their costs.

Hi, this is I allegedly. I’m Dan. Welcome back. I’ve got a good one for you today because you need to get ready for blackouts, guys. It’s going to be the summer of darkness. Hit the like button, subscribe to the channel, and there is so much to cover. You know, this country has been through a big renewable energy push, and the last administration really forced that upon everybody. And now we’re going to pay the price for that because the problem with solar energy and with wind is it’s not as reliable as things like nuclear and regular power plants.

One thing that we have not invested in over the course of the last decade and a half is to fix these power grids and to fix these power plants. Think about this. We have nuclear power plants that are about to be retired. It’s going to make it so that in the summer of 2025, you could see basically 25% of the country go dark at times and have rolling blackouts. Now, living in California, we’ve experienced this. Super hot days. Today is a hot day. Hot morning out here. And it’s not even hot yet, but the demand on energy, people turning on their air conditioning, lights, everything else puts a demand in the grid.

Well, what they did was they said this demand in the grid is going to create rolling blackouts. Now, it got crazy. I’d say about eight years ago where you would literally drive down the street and all of a sudden all the stoplights would go out. The power would go out at restaurants. It was just done like there was some type of catastrophe. And it was, and they just shut the power grid off. They did this on their own. It wasn’t like it was any type of cyber attack. It was just done. Now, the problem with it is that you have major grids.

There’s four major grids that are responsible for millions of people. There’s no way I could memorize these, so I have to cheat. And the MISO, SPP, ERCOT, and New England grid. So all of New England could have days where it goes dark. And the problem that you have is that not a lot of money was spent to fix anything. Then you throw in a hurricane or two, you throw in some floods, and you’re going to have real problems. Now, here’s the thing. 2021, when you had the cold weather in places like Texas, you actually saw hospitals that were closed because they did not have any power to the hospital.

Now, a buddy of mine works for security for a large hospital chain, and he explained to me, he said, Dan, this is like living in a city. And it’s the only place I would want to be during a hurricane because we have everything. There’s nothing to worry about when you’re here. You have food, you have energy, you have water, you have it all. And with that being said, this makes it so that these people are basically their own city. Not every area is like that. You get a lot of small cities and regions that don’t have that.

Now, think about this. Things like data centers, Bitcoin mining, all this stuff takes away from the power grid and our regular electrical needs. I was just talking to somebody about what it cost to mine Bitcoin and how they do this in a lot of rural areas. But those areas you’re going to see go dark because of this. The North American Energy Reliability Corporation says that this is so bad, you could see 37 states, 37 states that could be hit with blackouts this summer. That is wild, guys, to think about. There’s been such a crazy push for solar energy and to buy your electric cars.

And if everybody went and plugged them all in at the same time, everything would just pop. It’d be like popping a circuit breaker. So with that being said, you’re going to see areas that are going to have major, major problems this summer. Now, one thing that was just done was they sped up certain tax credits. You’re going to see the tax credit for solar energy be moved up to 2026 now. So it’s not going to go to 2028 like they talked about. So these discounts and these credits are going to go away. Here in California, you know, hey, we’re not making as much money.

The power plants are penalizing people right now and saying, you’ve got to pay an additional fee. I mean, here’s the thing. You can’t have this house right here. If it has solar, it’s got to be connected to the grid still. They’ve got to bill you, and they’re charging more and more for that. In fact, the power companies, when you get solar, they’re delaying everything right now in regards to even turning your solar on and taking you off the grid. Think about this. If they could have 1,000 houses wait an extra 90 days, they get all that revenue.

That’s what they’re looking at. But none of this stuff was worked on. The grids were not worked on. If you throw in a natural disaster or two, you throw in the fires in LA, you have major problems. Think of all the power that went out and was lost in places like that. The Altadena-Eton area where the Eaton Fire was at, Malibu area, places destroyed right now. You haven’t seen anything yet. So this is a great story. Read this because we should all save energy. We should all work on trying to keep our costs down and things like that.

But as prices go up, they’re not doing anything for us, which has been the criminal act of all this. So many people have written me and talked to me about how bad it is with their power company. And we’re seeing everything shoot up right now. And now you’re going to see it again. And this will be another excuse to raise our prices. But when you think about this and you think about all these grids that are not being worked on and haven’t been done, this is going to be like Sri Lanka. Do you remember a little over a year ago I covered that where Sri Lanka lost power.

They stormed the castle. The king of Sri Lanka, or president, whatever you want to call that guy, they went and went to his house. It was the only place that had power at night. So you’re going to see things like that. And is this a very scary warning? Yeah, of course it is. This is designed to remind you of how fragile this stuff is, but nothing was done. For four years, go green, go green, go green. And it’s not enough to power everything. So it’s going to be interesting to see how this plays out. But read that article, because it’s fascinating, man.

Because I’m telling you, you’ve got all these great states that are just going to be in the dark. And all the electrical demand, everything that’s going up. The thing about this is the big problem is going to be older retirement homes, hospitals, things like that that have oxygen and things like that. Some of them have backup generators and things like that, but not all of them do. The biggest problem right now is that rural hospitals in small cities and stuff, these places cannot afford care. They cannot afford upgrades, things like that. So it’s going to be interesting.

You’re going to see a lot of power outages and things like that. So let me know what you think. Now, we talked about this earlier. More people are slashing travel and slashing excessive spending right now. It’s a great article about how people are just changing everything that they do in regards to vacations, in regards to going out to dinner, in regards to how they’re going to spend extra money. I was talking to a buddy of mine whose company we think is in trouble, and we’re convinced he’s in trouble. But what he’s going to do is he’s going to take the mode that the company is in trouble, which is the smart way to do it.

By doing that, he’s protecting himself, selling stuff he doesn’t need, cutting back, not spending any extra money. And then when you talk about going out to dinner and travel, I mean, not everybody can afford to do this. How about this article that came from the UK talking about the United States here. People that work at fast food restaurants cannot afford to eat there. It’s too expensive now. If you work at McDonald’s, you cannot afford a meal at McDonald’s during your shift, which is criminal in itself. It’s horrible. It’s awful. Now, here’s the thing about this. My son works at restaurants, and I would say, what kind of deal? He’d say, oh my gosh, Dad, you know what I had? I had lobster mac and cheese the other night because somebody didn’t want it after they ordered it.

And they sell it to the employees at a reduced price in different places. He’s always had deals like that that he could eat at a reduced price. Now, is it more expensive than McDonald’s? Heck yeah, it is. It really is. But that’s what people are not being able to afford to eat where they work at. Isn’t that crazy, guys? It’s absolutely nuts. Great article below about what things cost and who’s more expensive. I just think that there’s not a lot of value in fast food anymore. There really isn’t. Nebraska, just visited a couple weeks ago, just did a really bold thing with their EBT cards and the welfare cards, is that no more junk food.

No more junk food. California, we have a program here called CalFresh, so people get a CalFresh card if they are on some type of assistance. The advantage to this is that the commercials that we see for CalFresh are, hey, eat healthy, go buy vegetables, eat this way, which has always been, I mean, I’ve never had a problem with that because people that are trying to get by and they’re giving money, they shouldn’t be buying crap. Well, guess what? Nebraska just passed something that no more sodas with your EBT card, no more sodas with the welfare card, no more Gatorade or any sugary drinks like that.

I think that’s great because what it does is it spurs people to eat better, drink better, and just be healthier. So I just don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. What do you guys think? I want to remind everybody that we have an email list. Use the link below to sign up for that. And one thing about the blackouts that people need to understand is that one figure that I can’t believe I forgot, and that is we are 10 gigawatts short of power right now in the United States, right now. So everybody turn their light on, you know, everybody go charge your car at the same time.

There’s not enough power for everything. Right now, what that does that equates to this one stat that you have to understand, and that is 1.7 million to 7.8 million houses could be powered by 10 gigawatts. So right now we’re short that, and then throwing everything else I talked about with all the power, all the construction, everything else, all the natural disasters, and it’s just we have a mess in our hands right now. It’s also coming up to Memorial Day, and I want to remind you guys, and I thank all the police officers, I thank everybody who gave their life for this country, for the freedom that they have, that we all have.

And I’m grateful to each and every one of you, and thank you for your service, and thank you for everything you guys have ever done for all of us. I truly appreciate that. One thing that is not happening this year is the spring buying season for homes. Right now we just got numbers for April, and the April numbers are off. They have not been this low since 2009. And people sit there, people in the industry say, oh, that’s no big deal, Dan, it’s not a problem, you know, real estate prices go up and down, and it’s always going to be good.

Well, I’m in an 8 to 12 million dollar neighborhood right now, and what you have is you have people that are not purchasing homes. So if you guys don’t think that that’s off, you guys are kidding yourself. Now, here’s the thing, the biggest problem they say is the interest rates, having them well above 7%. And again, I talked about this, you know, my buddy Scott Walters that’s in the Santa Barbara area, there’s a guy you should follow, and there’s a guy you should watch. It’s like TK’s garage when it comes to autos, that’s the guy you should watch with that.

But Scott Walters has been a realtor for almost 30 years. There’s a guy that has sold so many houses and done through the ups and downs, and even had a problem during the last downturn, where the market went bad. He had to give a house back to the bank and negotiated that. But again, I won’t bore you with the story, but it’s brilliant the way he did it. But he’s also advising people that you’re going to see that again right now. So foreclosures are on the rise, there’s more of that. It’s happening, but you can attribute to anything you want.

You can blame tariffs, you can blame McDonald’s prices on tariffs. It’s nonsense right now. It’s nonsense. Everything is somebody else’s fault. What you’re seeing right now, what about your job? You think that it’s all tariff related with your job? My buddy thinks the company is wonky right now. You think that that’s all tariff related? No, it’s not. The next thing is man of the people, Jamie Dimon. You know how much I love him. A guy makes $36.5 million and I’m worried about you. He’s in it for you. No, he’s not. I think he’d ever wear a shirt like this.

By the way, thank you guys. All the crazy stuff you send me, I’m going to start wearing all these shirts again for you now that the weather’s good. Somebody sent me this and I forgot who did this one. But thank you. So with that being said, Jamie Dimon says we’re about to experience something worse than a recession. Oh my gosh, maybe it’s the D word. How will I ever get by on $36.5 million? Again, he’ll do just fine, but he’s worried about you. Ever since you had a politician that wasn’t a politician become president, I don’t trust any of these people.

Now I think that they all have an ulterior motive that they think that they could run the show better than other people, which is fine. Everybody can do whatever they want. And, you know, as much as I don’t like Mark Cuban right now, I wish he would buy the Angels to fix that team. But you know what I mean? It’s not all bad. OK, so let me know what you think. I’m going to finish this one with just a few stories. First things first, don’t forget we have a private channel called I Allegedly Live. You sign up at I Allegedly.TV.

We talk about everything. We can’t talk about other places. Check it out today. I Allegedly.TV is where you sign up for that. There is a building in Portland, Oregon, 42 stories high, 1.15 million square feet that is only 60 percent occupied right now. Aaron sent me this. Broker Aaron. Aaron smiles. And this is a good one because first things first, guys, this building has U.S. Bancorp in it. Well, that’s a good tenant. No, they’re leaving. And it’s 60 percent occupied right now. And they’re trying to sell it right now, knowing that the biggest dent in the building is going to jump ship.

So we’re out of here. OK, so I mean, you’re going to hear about this one. I’m glad he sent me this because you’re going to see that it’s going to be given away. The next one is here in Southern California. One of the largest resorts ever is a place called the Gaylord. It is almost 500 acres. They built it in a city called Chula Vista. Where is Chula Vista? It’s in San Diego County, right on the border. It’s right next to Mexico. And they built this huge resort with eight restaurants and all this different water park and stuff.

And they’ve talked about, hey, we’ve already booked, you know, hundreds of events here. I’m telling you guys, it’s going to be interesting to see what happens. Maybe weddings, maybe conferences, but I don’t think you’re going to get major, major people to go down there. Because I mean, it’s San Diego plus another 25 minutes. So it’s crazy. Is it nice? Yes. But it’s interesting because Aaron brought up a great point that this place is going to make it. It took 10 years to build this place. And now it’s finally done. So congratulations to them. But I don’t know.

I don’t know if it’ll get through it. Two final stories. How many of you use AI for your daily life? You know, chat GPT or any of these other sites. How about this? In the United States, only 22 percent of us use AI right now, which I thought it would be a lot more. Found a great article about that. Check that out. But here is the best one ever, is that there was a summer reading list for 2025 with the best books of the summer. The majority of the list are fake books that were generated by chat GPT that don’t exist.

But it’s a big political nonsense festival with this stuff. When you hear these titles and you read this, check this out, because it’s all fake. Isn’t that funny? So the list of the top 25 books of the summer and the majority of them are fake. So check it out. Don’t forget to hit the like button. Don’t forget to subscribe to the channel. And again, thank you. Can’t wear that everywhere. I’m here for your daughter now. You know what I mean? Anyways, onward and upward, guys. I’ll see you real soon. [tr:trw].
