Hey guys, something just happened in DC. Here I am at Vala Ridge, if y’all recognize this. Taking a class, so I got a couple minutes here to tell you what just happened because most gun owners will probably get a kick out of this. For years ATF’s main lobby was home to a controversial display. It was a wall-sized gun violence memorial filled with emotional pictures and photos and anti-gun symbolism. But now under the current leadership, that wall is gone and I think it’s a good thing. This so-called memorial was installed during the Biden administration and it featured about 120 faces that were meant to represent victims of gun violence.
There’s no such thing as gun violence. There’s violence perpetrated with firearms, just like there is with cars. But it was a strategic attempt to stir emotion and link lawful gun ownership to criminal acts. It was right in the lobby of the Federal Law Enforcement Agency. But ATF isn’t supposed to be a propaganda outlet. With the Biden administration on its way out, yeah there’s still some leftovers, and a new wave of leadership setting a different tone, ATF quietly removed the entire display in the last few days. No fanfare, no press conference, just a quiet course correction away from politicizing the messaging.
And for far too long, unelected bureaucrats used emotional imagery and misleading narratives to vilify us, the law-abiding Americans who choose to exercise our Second Amendment rights like we’re doing here today at Valor Ridge. And the ATF should never have allowed that wall or the anti-gun messaging that accompanied it to define its identity. If they want to hang a memorial to the lives of people that should do it to those who are saved by armed self-defense or the thousands of times a firearms prevented violent crime, that would be something worth seeing if you’re going to DC.
Now of course the usual anti-gun groups and the media outlets are losing their minds, they’re calling this removal an insensitive action claiming that it dishonors these victims, but let’s be real, that wall wasn’t about honoring victims, it was about weaponizing grief just to justify gun control. And taking it down isn’t erasing anybody’s memory, it’s about ending the abuse of federal property for political theater. If you believe the ATF should stop pushing anti-gun rhetoric and they should be abolished, then make your voice heard down below. Let me know in the comments what you think should happen to the ATF.
