Check them out using the link down below. It’s sdi.edu slash gng. All right, let’s get into this one. Let’s talk about major revelation that came out this week that the ATF is using facial recognition technology to identify gun owners. What kind of gun owners? That’s going to be the clue here. Now, several reports confirm that the ATF has access to and uses facial recognition systems to track individuals, including gun owners. Now, the Government Accountability Office, it’s the GAO, they documented that the ATF has utilized Clear View AI, Vigilant Solutions, and other systems owned by federal, state, local, and tribal agencies.
For those unfamiliar, Clear View AI is a massive database of over 30 billion facial images scraped from public sources like news sites, mug shots, and even social media. But here’s the kicker. The ATF admitted to using these tools without proper training for their agents. So that means the ATF agents were running facial recognition searches without understanding exactly how the technology works or how accurate it is or how to interpret the results. They were just going hog wild running faces through this program. Now, the GAO criticized federal agencies, warning that facial recognition technology can lead to wrongful arrests and violate civil rights and civil liberties.
In fact, the ATF’s use of this technology could have a chilling effect on your first and second amendment rights. From October of 2019 to March of 2022, the ATF conducted at least 549 searches that we’re aware of using facial recognition. Now, the ATF claims that they stopped using this technology in April of 2023, but new reports say otherwise. A July of 2024 report by Senator Ron Johnson regarding the attempted assassination of President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania revealed some shocking news. The ATF was involved in running facial recognition scans on suspects.
Now, why is the ATF, the agency responsible for regulating firearms, why are they handling facial recognition for a presidential attempted assassination? And that’s the serious question. And it only adds to the growing concerns about what the ATF is really doing with this technology. The FBI could have done that. Well, they did have, what, one third of their, oh, actually it’s more than that, almost two thirds of their personnel assigned to J6 people. Yeah, the problem isn’t just with ATF. In New Jersey, police use Clearview AI to check whether suspects own guns before arresting them.
Searches without probable cause. In an interview, New Jersey’s attorney general, the attorney general admitted, quote, the Clearview app was used to get the name of the individual we wanted to find out, does this person have firearms? But here’s the best part. New Jersey has already has a gun registry, guys. So why use a controversial and inaccurate system to do the same thing? You could have just ran those people in your computers that are in the police cars already. So there’s got to be something more to it. The attorney general in New Jersey ultimately banned the use of Clearview AI in the state, calling it, quote, racist and inaccurate.
That’s a rare moment of honesty from an anti-gun politician. That tells you an awful lot. Now we already know that the ATF has compiled nearly one billion gun and gun owner records. And according to a 2022 Gun Owners of America report, this registry is digital and searchable. And this was admitted by the, admitted to by the ATF because it was a Freedom of Information Act. Even though the ATF claims it isn’t searchable by name, they can just turn that right back on or just hit control F. It’s pretty easy. It’s an easy function to re-enable.
Now Congress is actively pushing for a new funding to develop law enforcement advanced tech analytics, which means more facial recognition, more data tracking, gun owner surveillance and much more. The ATF could easily pair facial recognition with its gun registry to create a real time tracking system of law abiding gun owners, just like New Jersey police were doing. You got to ask yourself, why are they worried about law abiding gun owners? If you ask me, it’s because an armed populace is a polite prop populace. Now, anti-gun politicians in Congress are already pushing the AIM Act, A-I-M, which would remove restrictions for the ATF, expand its ability to collect and analyze data and potentially fund more facial recognition programs.
If that happens, the ATF could have a National Registry of Gun Owners tied to facial recognition databases. We already know they have the first one and then we think they got caught working on the second one. We all know what comes next after all this stuff, guys, after registration throughout every segment of the world where that happens, what follows, say it with me now, confiscation. Thankfully, groups like Gun Owners of America are fighting back in both Congress and in the courts, but they need your help too. Here’s what you can do. Contact your representatives and your senators and demand that they oppose the AIM Act and any ATF overreach, especially right now where there’s movement going on, where Pam Bondi, if you didn’t see the video I did, I’ll pin it above, Pam Bondi has shaken up the ATF with funding.
And then last night, the executive order that was signed by President Trump potentially could have some good things coming out of the courts, hopefully, if they just do what they’re supposed to do. I got a video about that last night too, check it out. And now you could also support Pro2A organizations that are actively fighting these battles like Gun Owners of America. Look in the description of every one of my videos, there’s links, I get nothing out of it, just a convenient way for you to go and join these groups and to donate as well.
You should also stay informed because knowledge is power and the ATF is hoping that you are not paying attention. This is a major fight for our gun rights and it’s not going away. It doesn’t matter who the president is. If you found this information valuable, make sure to like this video and share it with fellow patriots. It takes about two seconds of your life, but it helps this channel out tremendously. A big thank you again to our sponsors, Sonoran Desert Institute. If you’re interested in a career in firearms technology, check them out. The link is down below. And that’s it for today, y’all stay armed, stay informed and stay free. I’ll see you on the next one. Take care, America. [tr:trw].
