➡ An immigration enforcement raid by ICE at a swap meet in Santa Fe Springs, California, caused panic and fear among vendors and customers. Witnesses reported that around 60 federal agents and Marines were involved, asking people for identification and detaining some. The incident has led to decreased foot traffic and some vendors not returning due to fear of another raid. The exact number of people detained is unclear.

This, as ice raids continue across the city and the latest happening at a popular swap meet in Santa Fe Springs this weekend. Witnesses say dozens of people were taken into custody there. KTLA’s Carlos Asado is live in Santa Fe Springs. That’s where he spoke with witnesses about the fear gripping the migrant community. Carlos. We’re carrying the Swami here in Santa Fe Springs was targeted over the weekend, sending customers, sending vendors into a panic.

And we can expect to see more of these ice operations. These ice raids. Tonight, President Trump saying his administration will expand on their deportations, especially in sanctuary cities that are run by Democrats. President Donald Trump doubling down on his immigration crackdown Sunday, posting on True Social in order to facilitate the largest mass deportation operation in history. Quote, We must expand efforts to detain and deport illegal aliens in America’s largest cities, such as Los Angeles, the core of the Democratic Power Center. This comes more than a week after community resistance and countless protests.

Look at those people out there. Look at these people. Check this out. So y’all throwing fireworks, y’all throwing projectiles, y’all throwing all of this stuff. Look at that crowd. Look at the crowd, y’all. Why is the crowd out there with a Home Depot basket? Okay, you see the Home Depot basket right there. You see the pallets that’s on the ground. Obviously, there were things that were on the pallets that you can possibly throw or disrupt what’s going on in these protests, turn riots and y’all out here. And so y’all throwing this stuff out at these people, you throwing it at the police, you throw on fireworks, you’re lighting them and throwing projectiles out of there.

And now you out there trying to run away from them. Look at the slow reaction time to the white woman right there. Look at the slow reaction time to the woman in the Obama jeans in the front. Everybody else is running. Everybody else is going to the back. Everybody is heading back towards the police cars. The woman with the mask on. And this is why y’all need to keep these women out of these streets, bro. Her reaction time is so slow. So slow. Jason could have got to her. Freddie could have came out of his dreams and got to her.

Michael Myers would have caught up to her. Everybody would have caught up to her. Look at the woman with the Obama jeans on and the hat. Look at how slow her reaction time is. That means that people were going to Home Depot to purchase these items so that they can be disruptive during these protests.

And countless protests against ICE activity in SoCal, most of which have been peaceful. Saturday drew the largest crowds in downtown L.A. for the no-keens rally. Lastly, the administration’s immigration enforcement. That same day, ICE agents targeted a swap meet in Santa Fe Springs. Witnesses say dozens of federal agents along with armed Marines did a sweep on the grounds. They were dragging people out of the bathrooms. There’s people scared. They went into all the spaces asking for everyone’s identification. We’re all hardworking people. It’s not fair what’s going on. Some of the vendors sounded the alarm, warning others of the imminent ICE raid as they saw agents pull up.

Me personally, when I went around to tell people that ICE was here, I saw two people cry, faces red, packed their stuff and left. Leo Carranza says he couldn’t just sit there and do nothing. It’s unclear how many people were detained, but some vendors and customers were able to flee. It feels good knowing that I was able to save those families. But at the same time, I call this person a traitor. This person just committed treason. This person just committed just committed treason. I think that he needs to be arrested for evading and escaping, helping fugitives and criminals continue to try to evade police officers.

And it’s like, it shouldn’t be the new normal. It shouldn’t be like this. This swap meet is usually packed. It’s a fun area for people to just get together, have a good time. And look how empty it is today. There’s nobody here. Shut it down. Time to shut time and go home. You want my license registration insurance. Most of the time they don’t even bother. You know what I’ve learned about police officers? I’ve learned from police officers that they already know who’s guilty before they even before, like just by your demeanor, they can tell when you’re nervous. They can tell, do you know that 98, 99% of the time I never get a ticket? And even if I do with something like civil infraction, noise, and pleading, it’d be something stupid. It just means something dumb. It’d be something that don’t even contribute to you.

Like I don’t get no points or nothing. I’ve learned from police officers that they are very keen. They’ve trained themselves and maybe it’s just from repetition. Yet another ICE raid took place this weekend at a swap meet in Santa Fe Springs. Yeah, Carlos Soceto is live there in Santa Fe Springs where he spoke to some of the witnesses of that Carlos.

Very Korean. Good evening. Operations here at the swap meet in Santa Fe Springs are back to normal a day following an ICE raid that sent vendors that sent customers running and panic. Several customers telling me that the operations are back to normal, but foot traffic is down as a result. And that’s because of what unfolded here yesterday. Take a look here. Witnesses say roughly 60 federal agents along with our Marines came not to shop, but to conduct an immigration enforcement raid. Pretty Saturday afternoon along Alondra Boulevard just a few hours before a concert was set to take place, but was later canceled because of the pandemonium.

One vendor said agents were asking people where they were from. We spoke with several vendors, some of which sounded the alarm once they saw what appeared to be ICE agents arrive at the swap meet. As a result, many people left just in time before the raid. Still those who were left behind were in fear. ICE comes in and raids the entire place. All the entrances were wide open. There was a helicopter circling the top of the premises. They were dragging people out of the bathrooms. There’s people scared. They went into all the spaces asking for everyone’s identification.

We’re all hardworking people. It’s not fair what’s going on. Now my grandma doesn’t want to come to work. This is her main source of income. My parents as well. This is what pays for our home. And now we are not able to do that. They’re scared to come to work. I don’t know what’s going on. It’s unclear the exact number of people who were detained during this operation. Video shows a handful of people were taken into custody. Today, some vendors decided not to show up over fears of another possible raid. Again, I’m told that foot traffic was down as a result back.

So they then basically created whole encampments and this has been authorized by California, Los Angeles and different places throughout the country for them to operate illegally because they’re not even supposed to be in the United States of America. [tr:trw].
