So, it’s the Memorial Day weekend, I wish you a safe Memorial Day, and I hope you’re able to at least spend some time on Memorial Day. I kind of have a love-hate relationship with the Memorial Day, the federal way of recognizing Memorial Day, because my birthday, which is May 30th, is the traditional Memorial Day, but the government, you know, because the government’s run for the benefit of the public employees unions, insists on celebrating Memorial Day on a Monday. So, it’s going to be this Monday, even though the official Memorial Day is next Friday.
But, let’s celebrate Memorial Day. Nevertheless, it’s, you know, the day everyone has off, so we should take some time to celebrate it. And, you know, these men and women who died for us, none of them asked, none of them signed up to get killed, none of them signed up to get killed. They signed up to defend this country and our rights and our freedoms and our values, their friends, their families, their communities, and they’re dead. There was this ultimate sacrifice made for us during the Revolution, the War of 1812, the sacrifices made during the Civil War, all the wars in our nation’s history were fought by men who were defending their friends and their families and their communities, defending this great country.
And the least we can do is really make sure this country is worth defending. Are we doing everything we can, within our personal capacities, to defend our country, to defend this constitutional republic that men and women have died for? I don’t know. I’d like to think Judicial Watch is. I pray it is. Are our politicians? Some are, some aren’t. But at least during Memorial Day, we at least, I hope, think about that issue. I know the Left hates the National Anthem. It’s too martial, right? I love it. And one of the reasons I love it is because of the last line, at least of the National Anthem that’s sung.
Does that flag still wave over the land of the, was it? Home of the brave, land of the free, right? And that’s the question we should be asking every day. Does the land our fellow countrymen died for, is it still free? Are we still brave that we’re willing to try to fight to make it free within our capacities, within the political system, by educating our children, sharing our concerns as voters in appropriate ways with our elected officials and our fellow American citizens? Those are the questions we should be thinking about on Memorial Day.
And if Judicial Watch can do a little bit to make the Constitution stronger, to defend our Republic, to uphold the rule of law, I’d like to think we’re giving honor to those who died for all of those values. And I ask you to join our cause, obviously, but to think about what you can do to promote those values individually as well as patriots and citizens. Thanks for watching.
