I’ve got a good one for you today because we’re all in the same boat together and we’re all being fed lies about how good things are and this is new innovations gonna be good and don’t worry about this and one thing that’s funny is these data centers that are coming out for chat GPT type things that you have to have that they have to grow the technology on at our expense literally our expense love chat GPT it it helps me with so many things and and there’s perplexity Claude there’s all these different programs out there and you can program it to do different things but I just had a woman send me something where she was trying to call a company to cancel something and she had to deal with AI I just want to speak to somebody so I can explain it because I’ve had the account for several years and I have a gift card and I don’t want them charging my card oh that sounds like an interesting problem let’s work on it can’t do it so we’ve all dealt with these things I love the knowledge I love finding out if things are hyped if they’re good if they’re bad it’s great but the problem with data centers in general is they’re trying to tell you how great these things are and that these data centers you know they’re just stores you know they’re storage areas and servers you know they’ve got net network infrastructure they have cooling systems and they got power and backup generators and they have high security they’re great only problem with it is when you sit there and you actually look at these things and I I am no by no means an environmentalist in the sense that I’m eating green and having solar and things like that and having wind turbines at my house but I believe in taking care of open spaces and and places that are fun and we need more parks and we need more places for people to go have a good time I you know outside of the house I truly believe that but these data centers are an absolute ripoff and we’re paying for them that is the problem people right now they say that 15% of our energy bill increases are because of these data centers who wants to pay that give me 15% more for anything all we do is pay more for stuff now there is nothing that is a deal right now and I did this video on the oil shortage for motor oil and then went to my buddy TK from TK’s garage who’s in Detroit filming videos with the automotive companies and yeah it’s real then this is totally real people should stock up on motor oil for their cars if they don’t know what it is look at the owner’s manual or look up what is a you know 2020 you know GMC Yukon you know what I mean you should you should know that and have it stored in your house in case you couldn’t get it this is wild when you think about this you know but these storage facilities and the the all these data centers they’re a problem incredible amount of noise I have an Apple watch and I wear it for my exercise that people say I don’t get so as I’m running and as I’ve taken the dog out for a walk or doing this it keeps track of my steps and everything like that and my heart rate and then it gets put into a program and I can tell you things like that I mean the Apple watch right now can tell you you know your blood sugar level I can tell you you know blood pressure and do all this stuff now it’s very very cool but the point is is that when I went to a baseball game on Saturday three times during the game when the Dodgers destroyed the Angels the decibel level went off and it said you’re in a high decibel area of 90 you know 90 decibels and above and if you stay here for more than 30 minutes it’s going to you know cause permanent air damage well most data centers are between 90 and 100 decibels all the time with the whirring sounds air pollution many of the data centers rely on dirty decir gas-powered backup generators it’s terrible they rent nitrogen oxide I mean they emit nitrogen oxide so as pardon me water straining contamination here’s the thing if you use water to run it through a data center to cool it down or protect it isn’t that I mean would you think that was bad would you drink that would you put a glass underneath that if it ran through a bunch of electrical components to cool something down that’s your that’s your drinking water that we’re that we’re running into power grid and utility spikes this is the thing that just floors me and you know fuel prices have gone through the roof I did a about how fuel in general is through the flipping roof right now and you’ve got some thing some areas of energy that are over 50% increases this year who can afford that it’s not like hey gosh honey we paid a higher electric bill you know we got out of this nothing it’s not like you built a swimming pool and you’re swimming out there right now you’re you’re keeping the lights on turning the heat on now you’re turning the air conditioning on it is crazy so you know people like it’s funny my son lives in the Boston area and they had their first 80-degree day today and he sent me over the temperature I’m like oh good for you it’s been so cold for so long that it’s finally hot but they went from cold to very hot again people that live in those conditions pay for energy usage more than the average bear does and that’s what’s not fair about this our strategic petroleum reserves they’re they’re being managed right now what does that mean what does that mean Greg Manarino brought up a great point what does that mean it means they’re being used right now and then oh yeah well we’ll fill that up again so these data centers if they were in your neighborhood would you want them there that’s what I want to know are you for this I love the technology I love AI but I’m always sitting there thinking that there’s got to be some better way for AI to help us and not cost us and and if if you were told that there was an you know a new data center that was in Southern California or in your area or Tucson would you feel good about paying a 20% spike in energy prices thanks you know the bad thing about IT and you know AI right now there’s certain things about it that I can’t stand you know those cameras on your front door I called one of my companies that I have and had to go through AI before I lost my mind and got to speak to a human being who solved the problem in minutes after that so there’s good and bad to it a guy named Tony was an IT compliance officer and did all this stuff in IT great story out of business insider where this guy went out and for the first time in 10 years had to go look for a job applied for a job and AI rejected him in less than six minutes bye you’re no good have a nice day you don’t meet the qualifications here’s the thing Tony could be the most qualified person in the world maybe you don’t hit the buzzwords maybe you don’t respond to things correctly nothing is better than meeting someone it’s like dating profiles online people that sit there and want to put their best foot forward but then people look at them and reject them and swipe left if you know what I mean so this happens with job applicants too and it’s a real problem right now so next thing that I got a kick out of was scammers that are final final thing that I wanted to talk to you about was you know we see stores fail all the time and then they’re gonna make these dual stores you know we’re gonna merge and we’re gonna be the greatest company ever and you know the one that was funny was I hop and Applebee’s I mean fried fatty donuts you know what I mean and fried fatty pancakes it’s just ridiculous now the container store the container store if you’ve ever bought anything there it’s very expensive oh gosh we bought some plastic containers where you can go to Target and you go to someplace else and get them much cheaper but the container store they’re all blue they have the same matching lids Dan isn’t that cool well they’re gonna merge with Bed Bath and Beyond and now they’re gonna open up a dozen dual stores for everywhere have license plate readers in their parking lots so if there is a major theft they can catch you get your license plate well looks like the guy drove away in this white car so Connecticut is the first state to do this and dr.
