Summary

➡ The current situation with rising oil and energy prices is similar to the 1973 oil embargo, which led to high inflation and economic hardship. This time, the situation is potentially worse as 20% of the world’s oil supply is affected. The high costs of fuel and energy are impacting businesses and individuals, leading to increased expenses and financial strain. This could result in people resorting to desperate measures to pay their bills, such as pawning family heirlooms.

Hey, it’s Dan! Welcome back to I Allegedly. I’ve got a good one for you today because some people say history doesn’t repeat itself and it sure does rhyme. There is something happening right now that seems eerily familiar to all of us that are old enough to remember this. Hit the like button, subscribe to the channel, and let’s get right into it. In 1973, yes, 1973, we had the oil embargo and that made a lot of things happen. It made gas prices shoot up. That was only 7% of the world’s oil, too.

Think about that. And it made oil prices quadruple. It brought gold, you know, from $25 an ounce to $500, silver from $2 to $50 an ounce. It changed everything. But most importantly, inflation went through the flippin’ roof during that time. Oh yeah, oh I remember that. I remember my dad’s business getting destroyed. I remember my parents deciding do we eat or do we buy gas? Do we wait in line? Odd and even. All that shenanigans. Well, this is eerily similar to what’s happening right now. Think about this. This last Friday, May 1st, gas was spent at a record pace.

Why? Did everybody go on vacation on May Day? No, remember there was going to be an embargo and people were going to boycott and it was going to be shenanigans. Well, wait a second. Gas was at an all-time high. People spent 125 million dollars more this week than they did the previous Friday. From Friday to Friday, $125 million more. That does not contribute to the economy. That does not buy you groceries. It doesn’t buy you a trip. It puts gas in your car to do the exact same thing you did before.

Here’s the thing, guys. Property taxes, you know, heating oil, natural gas, electricity. These are things we have to have. And you don’t go, gosh, man, you know, I paid $1,000 more for my electric bill this month. No one has ever said that. So no one has ever said, gee, we only spent $125 million more. This is an economy destroyer. This is going to make things so that people are going to finally wake up because what happened with the Strait of Hormuz is the difference between 1973, but it’s eerily similar, is that you’ve got an oil embargo that affected 7% of the world’s oil and that shot everything up.

Now it’s 20% of the world’s oil is affected by the Strait of Hormuz. Everything is affected by fuel prices, everything. Don’t worry, don’t worry. It’s going to go down in price. But will it go down in price fast enough? You just saw Spirit Airlines go down for the count. And employee costs and fuel costs is what the killer was. Plus they had a ton of debt to their liars. They couldn’t budget, you know, their own checking account. This is the beginning of this. This is the beginning of more and more realization that oil prices and energy prices are going to destroy the everyman, which is you and I.

Home improvement companies. I’ve had three reach out to me and say, do we charge a delivery fee? Do we charge a setup fee, Dan? Should I charge a fee to have the installers there if they’re there for after an extended period of time? My answer was, well, wait a second. What did you promise on the job? Did you promise three days, five days, whatever. Why is it late? Is it your fault? Oh, we had unforeseen blah blah blah. Well, I think people are going to have a problem. If you go listen, hey, I’ve got a 10% fuel surcharge now.

This is going to make everything outrageously expensive. But I’m telling you, I have friends that are traveling. They’re going to Ireland, they’re going to England, and they’re going around the world for a month. And they said, thank God we bought our tickets because they would be $2,500 more today for the same ticket to go the same place. Okay. Let’s just check it for fun. Okay. Well, that is fun. Oh, my gosh. The oil price is going to affect everything from your postage, your delivery to everything at Home Depot. All our food is going to go through the roof and you haven’t seen anything yet.

Let me know what to think about this so far, because this is just the beginning and it’s going to get much, much worse. Now it’s cold out here, guys. It’s breezy. It’s beautiful to walk in the beach like this. But we have to think about this and that energy equals everything. And one thing that I get a kick out of is how people that have lived through difficult times remember what they did to survive. My friend’s mom was just telling me a story about how she was a single mom and she just paid all her bills.

And then it was, oh, your room mother this week. Oh, what’s that mean? It means you bring donuts for everybody. And she didn’t have the money to buy donuts. She had to figure out how to buy donuts. So as we see every thing go up, everybody has their wealth tied in the stock market. I have friends that sit there and say, oh, my gosh, I made $3,000 yesterday. Did you? Did you make three grand yesterday? Or is it numbers on a page? I believe in gold and silver. I’ve talked about that for years.

You know that. But the thing that’s happening right now is with this energy debacle and history repeating itself, you’re starting to see the fact that people are trying to get creative with getting their money and how they can pay their bills. I found a great story about pawn shops in the Midwest. Well, this is in California. No, it’s not Florida. No, it’s not Texas Midwest, where you’re starting to see people unload the family heirlooms and things that they can borrow the most amount of money against. You know, and again, everybody tells them the same story.

Everybody says, oh, gosh, I’m going to borrow this money and I’m going to pay these bills and I’ll pay it back before the pawn shop is closed. I’ve been to a pawn shop, guys. I’ve had to do things and had to pay lawyers and and do things to to get by to feed my children and had to go to these pawn shops. But this is a different type of person that’s going in there. It’s not the desperado. It’s not just the divorced people. It is people trying to make ends meet. I did a story about six months ago about how people were selling plasma, donating blood for cash to pay their bills.

And I had somebody write me and say, hey, listen, Dan, we’ve got a car and the car payment’s over a thousand dollars. I’m glad I do this. That’s insanity, guys. It is absolutely insanity. Now, we all have to do what we have to do to survive. And I’m telling you guys, if you have anything of value, sell it. Get rid of it. The golf clubs you don’t play was the last time you play golf. It was last time, you know, your kids with their sporting equipment sell that stuff if they’re in college. Oh, I just like looking at all his baseball gear.

Oh, yeah, that that costs four hundred dollars. You don’t think you get 50 or 75 bucks for it. The stuff that they’re pawning right now is not the normal. You know, junk, it’s valuable items. And that’s what we’re seeing more and more of right now. It’s beautiful. This is Pacific Grove right here, guys. It’s absolutely stunning out here. Just take this in for a second. So just a beautiful spot. Waves are huge. They have this wave warning. Who would swim in the day? Don’t go swimming out there, sir. OK, thanks. Thanks, Dad. OK. So there’s more to come.

Few things to finish this video. Don’t forget that we have the private channel I Allegedly Live. You sign up at I allegedly TV. It’s all the uncensored stuff. You can’t talk about other places. Plus, don’t forget that we have the video sharing platform. New videos dot com. It’s free. Check it out today. You know, watch some videos, upload your own videos. Enjoy. You know, I love getting stories like this, not because of the subject matter, but it reinforces that people are not alone right now going through these difficult times half one half of all Americans say that their finances are getting worse, not they’re bad.

They’re getting worse. And do you see an end in sight? No, I do not see an end in sight. I see this continuing to going downward. That is horrific, guys. That’s bad, bad news. One thing that I was very good at was getting businesses put inside other businesses. In other words, you could advertise, you have a big store and you could set up a display inside the store and you could get leads or sell your products and pay the store commission. It’s great. There was a kitchen company, Ren’s Kitchen, that they said competed with Home Depot.

It didn’t compete with Home Depot. It was just a kitchen company inside of Home Depot. But read the article below because they went down for the count because they couldn’t make it. Now, think about this. Home Depot’s traffic is off almost four percent, four percent, which is a huge amount, and they’re not getting people to spend more money. But the kitchen remodeling business is taking a massive hit right now. People are not spending the money on this that they did before. And then they went out of business. Now, final story, for those of you on the private channel, I told a story about a buddy of mine who went out and had an altercation with the police that was unjust and wrong for a thousand reasons.

And, you know, there’s a man named Kyle. Kyle Dossman in Colorado. Kyle’s this is horrible. Kyle’s license plate is flagged by the license plate readers that the car is stolen and he’s a wanted fugitive. Think about that. Is that horrible? So he gets routinely pulled over, over and over and over again. Now, me, me or Dan, or if you had this out, if I knew Kyle, I would have the lawyer festival going on right now with everybody in that area to get me off of that because the guy, the guy makes sure that he’s, you know, ready to be pulled out of the car.

They do a felony stop on him, which means it’s heavy. OK. And time and time and time again. Now, you know, I wonder, is it an old girlfriend? Is it somebody? Oh, Kyle, that guy was a jerk in high school. You know what I mean? You don’t know why someone would have that kind of bad luck. I think it’s intentional when things like this happen. But again, over and over and over again, I had a buddy that ran the security for a hospital group and he had access to the license plate readers and would tell me everything.

They would have things flagged in the computer. If somebody, let’s say that they had a warrant out for their arrest and it was tied to their license plate, let’s say that they were had a restraining order, OK, all these different things. Known felon, whatever, it would notify the hospital. Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. OK, which means it would notify him. So terrible way to live. I feel for all this stuff. Guys, I’m telling you, smile, be kind. But I would fight that. I would fight that. I would I would have sued them already. Anyways, that’s just me.

Please hit the like button. Please subscribe to the channel. And if you have questions, let us know. Hello, at I allegedly dot com. You want to send a story? Be like Broker Aaron or everybody else at sending all these crazy stories about gas. One hundred and twenty five million of your hard-earned dollars was pissed away on gasoline from one Friday to the previous Friday. No one can survive this. No one. It’s going to get worse before it gets better. Jerome Powell just made sure that he did his final swan song to Donald Trump and didn’t lower interest his that affects you and I.

OK, I’ll see you soon. [tr:trw].
