No, they’re not. Work is something we have to do. We have to suffer through this. And we have to all, you know, do more than we’ve ever had to do just to keep our job. People are worried at a record pace. The highest percentage of people right now are worried that they’re going to lose their job. The highest in recorded history, what their people are dealing with right now. That’s awful. Imagine you get there and all you’re worried about is, what am I gonna do? Because I’m gonna get fired. That’s terrible.
It’s absolutely terrible. Now, people relate it to a lot of things. Management, people relate it to the companies asking them for extras. Hey, Dan, we need to come in on Saturday. There’s a great movie called Office Space that basically was ridiculous. And that everything was, hey, you need to file this report. And finally, one guy, Ron Livingston says, I passed. I’m not doing it. I hate this place. I do everything I can to go, you know, under the radar with you guys. And they bring consultants in to interview him. And the consultants will like, man, this guy’s dynamic.
He’s got such a good personality because he told the flippin’ truth. I am in towards the beginning of the mall. This used to be a restaurant that they turned into the Gucci store. And you’ve got this big fountain that everybody comes and takes pictures at. And it’s nice to be in here with nobody walking around. But think about this, the days of going to work for somebody. And here is your retirement program. Here is your 401k program. Here are your sick days. Here’s the benefits. I mean, it’s rare. My friend just got a job like that.
And the commission structure, he says, is insane. And I’m like, wow, I think you’re really one of the only people I know that’s been hired recently that is excited about this new opportunity. Now, remember, I talked about that guy. He was a guy that left, you know, another company because his management was a bunch of clowns. The guys were not experienced, didn’t challenge him, all that stuff. But just a bunch of high-ends. But it’s really, it’s a nice mall to walk around. It gives you the illusion that you’re outside when you’re here.
It’s kind of cool. But this goes to something else. And that is, is management ripping us off? Are they stealing from us? And one thing that I got a kick out of was another Dr. Marvin stories. I got a trucking company sent to me where the trucking company was cheating the drivers, cutting them, you know, Hey, listen, your load to Wichita is 1248 miles. We’re going to pay you 900 miles. Huh? Where’s the other 300 miles come from? No, no, this is what we’re going to pay. And they would do it retroactively after the fact, and rip these people off.
Now, here’s the thing. I read a lot of trade industry stuff to get proper vetting on this stuff, because what you just don’t want to have, and you just want to have one person complain about working. You know, you don’t want that you want to be able to have something real as far as real numbers. And out of Freightways magazine, the entire trucking industry right now is going through a Renaissance. And the Renaissance is who’s ripping off who, which is terrible. People are working longer than ever. People are driving longer than ever.
We just had a shakedown to where they’re giving commercial drivers licenses to people that are not qualified, that don’t speak English, that are not giving their name, but hey, you want to drive a big, great truck? I am telling you from driving to Vegas, and when I drive home tomorrow, it’s gonna be the fact that I’m going to stay away from every big, great truck, right? Just get around him. I used to think that these are the most experienced people in the world. They’re insane. It’s ridiculous to put your life in danger driving on these people.
But it is such a problem in the industry that it’s just not your trucking company. You can read the story below, but there is a national investigation into getting people ripped off and how the drivers are getting taken advantage of. Wait a second. Doesn’t this go to you’re dissatisfaction with your employer? Nothing would be worse than stay later. And there’s lawsuits as far as all these people that are not getting paid, what they’re supposed to be getting paid. Come on, man. I mean, you know, it’s ridiculous right now. Absolutely ridiculous.
Are you satisfied with your job? Do you think your job is good right now? I don’t know if anybody that wants to think that their job is good. We have the highest percentage of people right now that are un-retiring. What does that mean? It means you go back to work. It means you don’t sit there and you’re not happy and, you know, you don’t have enough money to eat. Everything’s so expensive. Think about it. Food won up 30 percent. How do you pay for that? How do you budget for that? I’m Mr.
Budget. I’m Mr. Figure it out with everybody and you know, don’t get screwed. I could continue to watch on there, but I’m going to go back this route. You have to know this figure, guys. You have to know what it costs you a month to live and, you know, I have more people that walk up to me. Hey, Dan, how’s it going? They like the channel, but they all say, hey, you know, we did our budget and they don’t tell me the amount. I don’t want to know the amount, but they always tell me, hey, you know what’s cool is we sat down and did that.
It makes it better because if we, you know, we notice what we’re spending now compared to at other times. So let me know what you think. There’s more to cover on this. I love walking through this place when there’s just nobody around. And it’s neat. It’s neat to see all this. Let me know what you think so far. Don’t forget that we have a private channel called iAllegedly Live. We talk about everything, that you can’t talk about other places. You go to iAllegedly.tv to sign up for that. The link is below in the video description. Now, two final stories. Broker Aaron sent me something great. The W Hotel in Philadelphia was delivered three years late, three years late. So what happened? They got fined. The contractor got fined almost 150 million dollars for delivering it late. Wouldn’t that be great? This is going to make national news because people are sick of construction projects dragging on, the streets getting crowded. How about the people that own the building that couldn’t sell out, you know, their W Hotel? It’s just terrible.
700 rooms, beautiful spot in Philadelphia. But no, it’s closed. It’s closed. Now, Vegas is off. Vegas is completely slow. Now you can sit there and go, again, you walk it through a mall when it’s closed. I get it. That’s not what I’m talking about. Since 2020, 90% of the revenue in Las Vegas comes from high-end eating, dining, which is great. I mean, this is the place to go. Okay. I like car mines. Got huge portions for their food. It’s crazy how big those portions are. It’s the type of thing you take six, seven people to and you order two items and they give you literally platters of food.
It’s Italian. It’s great. Now, what you’re seeing though is that’s a pricey joint. It’s not cheap to go eat there. The other thing that you’re seeing is that they’re starting to get rid of the buffets. I remember as a kid and in my 20s, you could come to Vegas and eat for, you know, you get your 99 cent strip cocktail, you get the buffet, you know, for 10 bucks. I used to like to take my son to the South Point Hotel, but they had a $6.99 steak and eggs from midnight to 6 a.m.
That’s like $12 now. It’s crazy how everything keeps shooting up. You have nothing. Now, what’s happening? MGM hotel, getting rid of the buffet completely. Getting rid of, I, you know, they’re getting rid of that. How much food do you eat for $100? Seriously. The Wynn Hotel to spend over $100 for their buffet. I hear it’s, the food is amazing. I hear it’s absolutely stunning. Okay. But I’m a guy that’s, you know, doesn’t eat $100 for the food anymore. I’m not in my 20s anymore when it’s just, you know, I’m a chow hound.
So you’re going to see more and more changes to this city. I am convinced that you’re going to see a major bankruptcy. Caesar’s Palace that I’m walking through right now, it looks like they’re going to be sold to Tillman Fertitta. Who’s he? He’s a restaurateur, part of the Fertitta brothers. And he owns the Golden Nugget. It looks like he’s going to try to buy all of Caesar’s Palace hotels, the eight properties. Which would that be good? Who knows? If you guys come here, a couple of good spots. I mentioned Carmine’s, the Palm restaurant, Astra Lopez.
It’s a great server there, but just a great, great restaurant. Get the hash browns too. It sounds crazy when you get a steak, but they have these great crispy hash browns at night. So what do you guys think? I think Vegas is off, guys. I think it’s broken. I really do. Hit the like button, subscribe. If you hate your job, you’re not the only one. Remember that. You guys are pissing me off by the way. I’m kind of tired of this. I’m going to check in late tomorrow. Anyways, like, subscribe. I’ll see you soon.
