I mean, it is every type of camping, camping gear, camper, trailer. I mean, it is unbelievable. It really is. And, I mean, just the stuff we’ve seen already in the first few minutes of being. And this takes up the entire Orange County Fairgrounds, and it is a massive event. So it was nice to get an invite out here, and a lot to show you about this. Now, there are thousands of people out here, and this is really telling, because one thing that my daughter and her friends have been talking about was, maybe you ditch everything, maybe you don’t rent an apartment, maybe you go out and you live in the camper.

Don’t pay rent, pay one price for the thing, and then just have maintenance for it. Now, a few things that are ridiculous in our economy, and with this thought, is the City of Los Angeles. They bought a Venice Beach hotel in 2020 for a paltry, $8 million. Now, with the $8 million purchase, they bought 26 units. This is a nice small little apartment complex. Isn’t that nice? The problem with it is that they’ve already put $20 million more into it. Spend eight, put $20 million on the remodel. It’s for the homeless. No homeless people are living there right now, guys.

So, you’ve got an average unit cost of $625,000 a unit right now, and no one’s living there. That’s our tax dollars here in California, being pissed away. I think that’s the financial term that you use for that. But what do you think about that? I mean, we’re seeing things like this all over, where money’s not being spent by municipalities, and there’s real problems. So, you know, again, you can sit and say, oh, that’s only in crazy California. But this, this place is unbelievable. Everything we’ve seen is just top notch, and there’s just every company out here who is anybody that’s in the camper travel, extreme outdoor living space is here.

It’s very, very cool. Now, this is not an inexpensive hobby. This is not the homeless people. This is extreme living and camping, hunting, fishing, and survivalism, and it’s very, very cool stuff. Now, I’m really enjoying the show. This is just incredible, but this is not a cheap hobby. You know, you’re thinking camping, you’re thinking, you know, sleeping in a tent. No, these are the best motorhomes and coaches on the planet. I mean, there is stuff here that is over half a million dollars. You’ve got budget-friendly things that are under 30 grand. You’ve got trailers that can cost a few thousand bucks, but this is for people that want to go and travel and be by themselves, you know, in the middle of nowhere.

I mean, I’ve seen absolutely everything. I’ve seen deer cameras, which are very cool, which go on sale. They’re completely solar powered, and you hook them up, and there’s no monthly service. This follows you around. And then, while I was filming this, Gary from Florida sent me the greatest story about a house on Long Island in New York. It’s a city called Sheldon. It’s on Winona Avenue, a 446 square foot tiny home. It’s a starter home for 330 grand. It’s got no bedroom. It’s basically, you know, a tube, 400 square feet. Think about that.

$330,000. And you wonder why this is popular. You wonder why that’s popular. It’s because a house is in Long Island for 330 grand. Now, Gary’s Florida real estate, a lot of people are moving to. Travis Kalanick, where have I heard that name before? He’s the guy that started Uber. He’s the original founder of Uber and sold it off when they wanted him out for all his shenanigans. But he’s moving from California to Texas. He doesn’t want to pay the potential billionaire tax, which would be 5% of your net worth. Now, Travis, if he’s already gone, the problem with this is they’re going to go retroactive.

So, if I had a billion dollars here in California and this law passed, I would owe 5% of my net worth to the state of California as a one-time fee. That is criminality life. Now, for those of you that have moved out of California, I’ve had multiple people write me and say, Dan, you won’t believe what they’ve asked of me. I haven’t lived in California in three years, and they want to know my exit date. They want to know when I moved, when I registered to vote, where I registered to vote.

Think about this. All the questions they want to ask, you know, it’s invasive to say the least. We want copies of your electric bills of your new residence in New Mexico or Florida or wherever you moved to. That is unbelievable that they’d ask for stuff like that. But again, what are you going to do? You’re going to buy a house for $330,000 on Winona Avenue. Look at that thing again. It’s crazy. The thing is, it is a Shacke von Shack. God loved the people selling this. I hope you get a bidding award.

I hope it goes to 400 grand. But that’s insane, guys. It shows the sign of the times where people, you know, are desperate for housing. But I am telling you this right now, my daughter, her friends, successful entrepreneurs that are like, you know what, I don’t want to pay rent. You’re starting to see more and more people live together, starting to see five families live together, starting to see my daughter was telling me that she has a friend in her apartment building. There’s five people that rent one apartment. It’s basically a one-bedroom and a loft.

So you’ve got people sleeping on the sofa. You’ve got two people in the bedroom, two people in the loft, and it’s just crowded. Okay, oh, by the way, there’s one bathroom on that too, so get in line. It’s a casino hotel, and the workers wanted to unionize. They’re like, listen, we need to unionize. We need a better wage. The manager said, if you guys do this, we could force this place out of business if we have to pay a better wage right now. They unionized, and within a month, the place is now out of business. Read the story below. But again, I’m not against unions. What I’m against is, know your audience right now, guys. Understand the fact that things are not good right now.

So much so, that Dr. Marvin sent me this one out of Florida. A man stole half a million dollars worth of onions and potatoes. And Jason Canals, 39 years old, went out and had a really extensive ruse where he did four different ways of changing his identity, even copied the identity of one restaurant supply house and acted like it was their email. And after the shipment was made, he said, hey, wait a second. You’ve got the shipment going to the wrong address. It’s got to go here.

And they delivered it. And in total, the restaurant supply company lost $600,000 in shipping and in product. Think about it. Half a million dollars worth of onions and potatoes were sold. This guy now faces 10 years in prison for this. So, again, the sign of the time, the desperation of the times. This is it right now, guys. It’s happening all around us. So, let me know what you think so far. What do you do with half a million dollars worth of onions? You know, we had a, first they sold $200,000 of the chicken wings last year, and they were just going to wholesale them out.

That’s what it looks like this guy was going to try to do. And, again, it doesn’t matter if you’re stealing light bulbs or onions. People are trying to make money any way they can right now. Now, one thing that affects each and every one of us is gas prices, diesel prices. If you’re in this space, this is a concern. This is your biggest concern, because once you pay for the unit, and I’ve seen stuff here that’s half a million dollars already, it is crazy. Now, if you’re in this space, Chris Wright, our energy secretary, he just said, hey, listen, I want everybody to know between now and summer to expect much higher gas prices.

None of us want to hear this. None of us want to hear this at all. You know, I paid $6.50 a gallon for gas the other day, and it’s only going up from there. So, there’s rumors of $8 in LA, but nobody wants to hear about this to see gas above $3. So many of you wrote me, when I showed that gas and did that short about, you know, $6.50 gas, people are saying, wait a second, you know, I’m paying less than half of that right now.

It’s going up everywhere. And the conflict, shenanigans, you know, hopefully, this is going to come down. Hopefully, they’re going to be right. Hopefully, we’re going to see gas prices drop to the floor. So, a lot more to see at the show, but a lot to cover so far. What are you guys seeing? What are you seeing for gas prices in your area? Adam Sammer, $48 million last year. Who was second? Tommy Tom Cruise. Tom Cruise, $46 million. Followed by Mark Wahlberg, made $44 million. Name something Mark Wahlberg did in the last year. Okay, 44 million bucks. Followed by Scarlett Johansson at $36 million. And then, shocking at $28 million was that sad ass Jack Black, who never met Emilia in life.

So, Jack Black made $28 million. $28 million in 2025. Again, wow, we’re in the wrong industry, guys. Should be an actor on Netflix and make things that we don’t watch. And you, too, could make $48 million. Again, one thing that’s interesting, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon did interviews for their movie on Netflix called The Rib. And they explained how you get paid on Netflix and you get paid a base salary. And then, based on the number of views and downloads, you get paid more. Based on the number of people that watch the first weekend, how it continues, how long they watch, all of that affects their paycheck and can make people very, very wealthy.
