Self-driving cars are amazing until the government stops your car because you didn’t pay your taxes. Smartphones give you access to all the world’s information in your pocket. They also monitor you with 50 different sensors. Starlink will give you internet access no matter where you are on the planet, but that also means you’re trackable anywhere on earth. Store all of your information in the cloud, they said. Never have to buy a memory card again. Well, that is until the internet shuts off. I can go on for hours about this technological Faustian bargain. But the gist of it is this.
While the tech bologarchs of the world are promising us some post scarcity utopia, the realities of national security as it relates to the development of AGI or Skynet and the corporate competition that surrounds it will ensure that AGI will be a centralized asset. That means that you won’t have access to it. Think about this. If you were a king, why would you want to make a god that would eradicate your own privilege? Do you really think if somebody came to the kings of old and said, hey, we’re going to create infinite abundance, but the one catch is society will no longer be hierarchical and you will no longer be the center of power and control.
I can guarantee you that they will never let that genie out of the bottle in the interim until humans are completely obsolete. We’re going to erect a techno feudal state of sorts where the populace is going to own nothing and be occupationally obsolete, which means they’re going to be reliant on universal high income. The government might call it something like stimulus or dividends. I expect that that terminology is not going to be well received, so they’ll probably use the euphemism of freedom dividend or techno stimulus. They will dole people out handouts so long as you are essential and they will retain what matters most, the means of production and all of our data.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. This guy sounds a little Marxian. Well, the fact is this techno feudalism is really ultimately communism. Owning nothing and being happy is a form of techno Stalinism. But we’ll talk about that more in just a minute. Here’s the utopian promise of AGI. Everyone is going to be wealthy. Work is going to be optional. You’re going to sit on the beach and ponder the mysteries of the universe all day while getting your foot rubbed by robots. AI will bring world peace and everything will be decentralized. Sorry, but the reality is as follows.
You will own nothing and you will subscribe to pretty much everything. And the oligarchs can completely cut you off from what will increasingly be a life-sustaining digital grid at the push of a button. Your labor will be essentially worthless compared to that of a robot who can do the job way better. Humans will become obsolete. AGI’s primary purpose is to be weaponized, both domestically in terms of a police surveillance state and also in terms of creating something that can defeat Russia and China’s nuclear weapons. And lastly, it’s going to be the complete opposite of decentralized. I will argue today that AGI will be centralized.
First reason why we peasants will never see artificial general intelligence is because it’s a national security threat. Governments view AGI as the ultimate weapon. So we can expect to see what we’re seeing now with Project Stargate, which will be a digital Manhattan project of sorts. Obviously, open sourcing something like this would be incredibly risky and stupid. So AGI then will likely be classified as a dual use technology. There’ll be a civilian version and a military version because sharing a super intelligence in addition to the risks of it becoming conscious and going rogue like in the Terminator movies could also be weaponized by every individual that uses it.
It would be the equivalent of giving everybody the nuclear launch codes. So in 2025, the RAND Corporation published a report that is to be used as a guideline for governments on how to manage the emergence of artificial general intelligence. Just like the Manhattan Project in World War Two, which sought to create the nuclear bomb, it should be expected that the development of AGI will be developed in secrecy. In fact, there’s something called the Invention Secrecy Act in the United States, which was introduced in 1951. It’s a law that allows withholding patent disclosures from the public if the invention is deemed a national security risk, effectively suppressing the technological knowledge associated with that development permanently.
The RAND doctrine characterizes AGI as a wonder weapon and puts it in the same category as nuclear weapons and biological agents. So while it might seem like sci-fi, it really isn’t. The government and the military are treating it that way. RAND argues that AGI creates five specific crises that make public disclosure virtually impossible for any rational state. Number one, it is of course a wonder weapon. AGI could develop decisive military technologies so quickly that an adversary has zero time to respond, creating a use it or lose it trigger. And it should be noted that if Russia or China or some other nation state or multinational corporation even thinks that someone is getting approach to AGI, which of course is a gateway into ASI or artificial super intelligence, they might take preemptive measures to interdict that process and that could even come in the form of a kinetic preemptive nuclear strike.
Think about it, if Russia or China thought that the United States was about to create a weapon that could effectively render all of China and Russia’s nuclear weapons obsolete, they would be faced with the decision. Do we risk becoming permanently enslaved to the tech oligarchs of the United States or do we strike first while we still can? Number two is systemic shifts in power. AGI doesn’t just improve the economy, it creates an irrevocable first mover advantage that would permanently end the global balance of the world. It would be highly disruptive to global supply chains and the global economy.
Thirdly, there’s also the non-expert weapons of mass destruction threat. AGI could allow a single individual like the communist cameraman to design and deploy a biological or chemical weapon. This would necessitate a total lockdown of the technology’s core weights to prevent this from happening. Number four, there’s the problem of artificial agency or agents. We’ve all seen the movie The Matrix. Well, what happens when an agent goes rogue? Entities that act on their own could trigger flash wars before humans could realize that a conflict has even begun. These agents will be so intelligent that they’ll be engaging in different types of conflicts and using different types of languages that we don’t speak and we can’t even detect.
And lastly, number five, strategic instability. The sheer speed of AGI driven science creates continuous technological surprise, making traditional arms control treaties virtually obsolete. But let’s face it, they’re all pretty much done anyways, with the New START nuclear treaty ending in February of 2026. The thing with this theoretical super intelligence is we don’t know what it’s going to create. It could understand a whole new branch of physics that we can’t even comprehend yet. And as such, predicting which way it’s going to go is virtually impossible. So here’s what the RAND Corporation proposed. They proposed an AI cartel.
Sounds great, doesn’t it? The goal is to distinguish between civilian AI, which is heavily throttled, and military and frontier AI, which is guarded and kept secret for the elites. The mechanism of regulating this cartel would be a bunch of sovereign nations or labs that are on the frontier of this AGI development. They would form a closed-loop cartel. They would use AGI to maintain their lead while preventing the democratization of the technology, and prevent it from getting in the hands of people or nation states that they deem to be rogue. So in October of 2025, the RAND report conducted a series of simulated exercises called the Day After Artificial General Intelligence.
They wanted to simulate in these exercises how the government would respond to the hypothetical creation of AGI. What they found is that in almost every scenario that they ran, as soon as a private company claimed to have reached artificial general intelligence, they immediately requested direct government support and classification. This sounds kind of counterintuitive because if you are a multinational corporation and you have some kind of technological moat with your product, why would you immediately consult the government who you know is going to step in and come and regulate it? Well, the thinking was, due to the scale of disruption that could result from AGI, big tech companies might need those government protections in place in order to proceed.
They also discovered in the case of a hypothetical bolt-out-of-the-blue cyber attack scenario in which AGI was weaponized to create cyber weapons to attack adversary’s cyber infrastructure. They found that most of the big tech firms involved would always prioritize acceleration and secrecy over public sharing, fearing that China, for instance, would achieve strategic overmatch if the US lab prioritized safety and openness. Therefore, there is an incentive to progress towards AGI as recklessly and haphazardly as possible. This also brings us to the AGI prisoner’s dilemma. If both the US and China believe that first mover advantage is decisive, they are mathematically incentivized to keep their progress secret and accelerate development, even if the risks are potentially catastrophic.
And the same holds true for individual companies and even individuals who may have their own AIs like this guy. What about this corporate moat problem? For companies like OpenAI, Google and XAI, AGI is theoretically the last product that they will ever need to build. And disclosing it to anybody, especially my dumb ass, will destroy the trillion-dollar moat that they’ve created. The massive capital requirements that are going to be required to build out these AI data centers. According to Sam Altman of OpenAI, we’re talking about $7 trillion in semiconductor infrastructural investment over the coming years.
And this is going to ensure that only a few entities can really play the AGI game. This is naturally going to lead to a technopoly of sorts. And think about this, if a single AI can generate the output of a million workers, and that AI is owned by one company, well, that company’s wealth becomes effectively infinite, and they have zero financial incentive to distribute their profits. That is from you know how I talked about how AI is kind of a Trojan horse? Well, there’s no bigger rider of that Trojan horse than Elon Musk.
Well, he might talk a good line about free market principles and free speech. Ultimately, the world he’s trying to sell people is dystopian and communistic. Think about it. He’s talking about a world where no human labor would be needed. Well, without labor, the public has no leverage. We have no bargaining power against the owners of the machines. The fact that we can provide essential labor to the system means that they have a reason to keep us around. But Elon Musk expects people to just believe that they’re going to keep us around when they don’t actually need us to do anything.
But somehow we’re going to reverse course of the self serving trajectory that we’ve been on in our free market society immediately become benevolent dictators. Ironically, Elon has criticized the world economic forums mantra of you will own nothing and be happy. But that’s essentially what he’s promoting. It’s a form of techno Stalinism. In this system, your income is essentially your subscription to life. And if they don’t like how you think it can be revoked at any time by whoever is administrating said system. There’s one historical parallel that comes to mind. And that’s of England in the mid 1700s.
There was something called the English Enclosure Act from 1750 to 1850. For centuries, the commons were public lands where anybody could graze their cattle and grow food. The Enclosure Act actually privatized this land. This forced the peasants who are self sufficient for centuries prior to move into the cities to become wage slaves for the industrial revolution. AGI is very similar. In the last 30 years, we as human beings have collectively fed our data into this internet technosphere that they are now converting from a public resource into private capital. A good easy to understand example of this is Google.
Have you noticed that when you do a web search now the answer is usually right there at the top for you? Well, people used to have to go to websites and those websites would get ad revenue or they would get eyeballs on their products. Now the answer is right there for you surf from Google who is using all of the data on the internet to train its own AGI’s essentially enclosing this digital commons and privatizing it in the hands of fewer and fewer corporations. It’s the sum total of digital human knowledge and big tech is enclosing this digital commons converting that public resource into private capital.
I know you’re probably confused and quite frankly so am I. All you need to know is that this technology will be weaponized against us. I probably could have summed it up like that. But a lot of people are being sold this illusion that if you help us build all these robots, those robots are going to wait on you hand and foot and not police you and rally you up and put you into camps. Okay, maybe that was a little dark. But based on how things are going, I think we’re closer to that than the utopian vision.
We’ve all been sold the myth that 3d nanotech printers are going to give us whatever we want at the push of a button but only if you are essential and only if you comply. So Elon Musk has to tell us that AGI is going to bring about abundance. Otherwise, we would never agree to help build it. It’s this very promise of future salvation for everybody that is going to legitimize the concentration of power and perpetuate inequality well into the future. Historically, the elites will never just become benevolent merely because a new technology was introduced that could theoretically enrich everybody.
The oligarchical incentive structures persist at every level of technological innovation. So in summary, AGI is going to be so important that they’re never going to fully disclose it to the public. Corporations are going to hoard it for their own comparative advantage. The utopian abundance for all narratives simply function as a Trojan horse to convince us to build out our own prison. And the wealthy will not relinquish privilege even when technology could potentially eliminate scarcity, at least not without a fight. And that is why you should probably subscribe to this YouTube channel because we are the resistance.
