Thanks Patriot mobile. Look forward to doing business with you. Alright, so the attorney general of Georgia, Christopher Carr, has sent a letter to Van Johnson, the mayor of Savannah, saying, hey man, you are violating state law and the Georgia constitution by signing into law the ordinances you did, which look to regulate the carrying and transporting of firearms and motor vehicles. I did a video offloaded above in which the mayor, in signing these two ordinances which said you had to secure guns and vehicles, cited some obscene numbers where in 2023, he claims 244 firearms were stolen from motor vehicles and a vast majority, well over 200 of those, were from unlocked cars.

How do they know that? I don’t know. And then again, the mayor said that as of the first couple months of 23, I’m sorry, 2024, there were like 69 or 70 guns stolen in the same manner. And the numbers were way out there. Like I don’t believe as numbers at all. But the left, they use an ends to a means thing, like we’re just going to come up with any type of lie, you know, trust the science type deal in order for you to give up more of your rights. Now, Georgia’s constitutional carry as well. Plus, they have preemption law.

Here’s what the attorney general said to the mayor. This is to Bates Lovett, the city attorney for Savannah. Dear Mister Lovett, this letter is written as a result of the city of Savannah’s recent passage of ordinances found in sections 91027 and 128 of the city code. As you may be aware, this office provides courtesy review of the written legal opinions and conclusions of counsel for local government. We are not aware of the analysis of the ordinances by your office, if any, and this office was not requested to conduct any review of advice. Had this office been requested to do so in this matter, our analysis would have concluded that the ordinances directly conflict with and are preempted by state law.

The ordinances relevantly purport to impose restrictions on the possession, transportation, and carrying of firearms and motor vehicles. Under Georgia law, however, no county or municipal corporation shall regulate in any manner the possession, ownership, transport, or carrying of firearms or other weapons. The Georgia Constitution provides that no local or special law shall be enacted in any case for which provision has been made by an existing general law. The doctrine of state preemption is based on the concept that statutes of the state legislature control over county ordinances here, because the General assembly has expressly designated the regulation of firearms as an issue of general statewide concern, no local ordinance can regulate firearms.

Consistent with its plain language, Georgia courts have confirmed that this Georgia law expressly preempts local regulations of firearms. In that case, Coetta county enacted an ordinance prohibiting firearms at certain recreational facilities. That ordinance, however, was invalid because the statute and its caption expressly refer to the preemption of municipal and county ordinances and zoning regulations pertaining to the carry of firearms. The same analysis applies to ordinances recently enacted by the city of Savannah. Because the city of Savannah lacks the authority to regulate the possession, ownership and transportation of firearms, this office’s view is that the ordinances are ultra virus and void.

We have not undertaken an analysis of the potential consequences of adoption and enforcement of ordinances that are ultra virus and void. However, at a minimum, it appears that the city should note the potential civil liability under this Georgia law. Given this concern alone, it appears that the city should give immediate consideration to rescinding its approval of sections 1027 and 1028. I hope that this analysis is helpful to you in advising the city regarding how best to proceed. Sincerely, your attorney general, Christopher M. Carr alright, so what do you think that pompous, Democrat, self righteous mayor Van Johnson has said? He said, in order to address the increasing amount of unsecured firearms stolen from unlocked vehicles.

The city of Savannah unanimously enacted this new ordinance. We certainly encourage our citizens to exercise their second amendment rights, but this ordinance remains in effect and will continue to be enforced. So he’s saying that even though the attorney general just said that this law violates the state constitution and state law, it’s null and void. We’re going to enforce it anyway because Democrats love your rights and we’re going to violate them at every turn. So, Georgia, if you’re in Savannah, ignore this ass clown. If you happen to get jammed up, sue the, shoo the crap out of them.

Sue them and just make a lot of money for yourselves. Because our rights are not given to us by the government, nor can they take away our God given unalienable rights. They’re unalienable for a reason. Guys and girls, let me know what you think about this squaring off between the two. Also, the mayor’s quote, one of his things to the attorney general on his facebook live the other day was, sue us. Let the supreme Court handle it. We’re going to keep enforcing this. So it’s a pretty pompous dude right there. Hopefully Savannah gets their heads out of there.

You know what, and replaces this guy. Hopefully some second amendment loving person will run against him. Let me know what you guys and y’alls think down below. See you on the next one. Take care..
