Today, the Vatican has officially released a doctrinal document regarding its position on gender theory, transgender surgery and surrogacy, and the document has frankly stunned leftists around the world.
Now, given Pope Francis propensity towards far more liberal sentiments than his predecessors, leftists were stunned to find a doctrinal statement that could have just as easily come from either Pope Benedict or Pope John Paul II. The document, entitled dignitas infinita, or infinite Dignity, absolutely condemns gender theory and transgender sex change, as well as surrogacy, as an affront to human dignity. While the church reaffirmed that every single person, regardless of their sexual orientation, is of infinite dignity and worth and should be respected in accordance with that dignity and worth.
Nevertheless, gender theory is, according to the document, a, quote, inadmissible ideology, asserting that any and all attempts to alter an individual’s immutable gender are ultimately misguided attempts at playing God. The document goes on to reaffirm the church’s teachings on abortion as well as surrogate pregnancies, which the church considers contrary to the pro life position. Given its connection with IVF and vitro fertilization, which the church sees as destructive of human dignity at the moment of conception, for right or for wrong, good or ill.
Regardless, what’s key here is that even with the single most liberal pope in decades, the Vatican nevertheless has anchored itself firmly in traditional sexual morality and shows absolutely no signs of budging from that period. And it was so interesting because this official document for the Vatican came just a couple of days after an op ed appeared in the Connecticut Sentinel entitled the Transgender Tide is turning. And the article began with that disastrous and frankly bizarre declaration by Biden that designated Easter Sunday of all days as transgender Visibility Day, which christians were rightly upset about.
Especially now, in light of the infinite dignity document from the Vatican. Even professional athletes were upset about it. NBA player Jonathan Isaac recognized that Biden’s actions were intentionally divisive, writing on twitter that the White House, quote, knows exactly what they’re doing. They want you to hate. This helps no one and only promotes division. And the irony here is that the division begins on the political left. We’ve already been seeing with Bill Maher, Piers Morgan, and most recently the leader of the new atheist movement, Richard Dawkins, all of whom have come out staunchly opposed to trans ideology and woke leftism.
Even young people gang have had it. Do you remember this? A middle school pride event took just a terrible turn in Burlington. Parents and teachers outraged over the response to a middle school pride event. Parents angry at town hall over intolerance at Marshall Simons Middle School. Instead of showing support, some students allegedly destroyed decorations there. The incident behind this happened two Fridays ago here at Simmons Middle School, we’re told.
A group of students started chanting, my pronouns are USA. Tore down some rainbow banners while another group of students was setting up a pride display. Kids were asked to wear rainbow clothes in honor of Pride Spirit Day, but some organized a counter protest wearing red, white and blue or black. Students were invited to show their pride and wear rainbow clothing in some celebration of Pride month. Students wore red, white and blue clothing, chanted, my pronouns are USA.
And destroyed rainbow decorations at the school. Now that was from April of last year. Those were students at Marshall Simmons Middle School in Massachusetts, in one of the bluest regions in one of the bluest states in the nation. And those students, those children of Democrats, did the unthinkable. They rose up into defiance against their radically woke administration and staff, and they refused to comply with their woke leftist indoctrination.
But the amazing thing here is that those students weren’t alone. Just the month prior, in New York, students John Jay High School protested their school’s transgender bathroom policy which allowed students to use the bathroom of their preferred gender, their self identity, rather than their biological sex. And so students at that high school walked out of class en masse and protested the policy again in freaking New York. This didn’t happen in Texas or Louisiana.
This happened in the bluest of blue states, New York. And if you think it through, why should we be surprised? After all, the whole LGBT movement is itself a revolt. It is itself a rebellion. It’s a rebellion supposedly against intolerance. It’s a rebellion against hate. It’s a rebellion against exclusion and insensitivity and discrimination. So if your whole worldview is itself built on rebellion, a rebellion against authority, rebellion against tradition, a rebellion against custom and heritage that are now deemed to be irredeemably phobic, if your whole worldview is built on rebellion, why the hell do you think the next generation isn’t going to rebel against you? If your whole worldview is built on the virtues of rebellion and revolt, why do you think the next generation is going to simply sit back and comply? These so called adults, these so called school leaders, are the epitome of absurdity.
They deliberately deny to others the very civic dissent and disobedience they demand for themselves. It’s unbelievable, just in terms of their dim wittedness and their short sightedness, as were all the hopes against hope with regard to Pope Francis, by the way, in the end, there was simply no way, given the importance of doctrinal continuity in the catholic tradition. Gang, I’m sorry. There was no way that this doctrinal report was going to say anything other than what it ultimately ended up saying.
Yes, I know Francis ruffles conservative feathers. His off the cuff remarks and some of his actions and recommendations, yes, I agree, have been extremely concerning in terms of the mixed messages those actions and recommendations send, no question. But when it comes to an official doctrinal statement on sexual issues and the human body, the latest infinite dignity statement is fully in line with traditional catholic teaching. In other words, let me state it differently.
Infinite dignity is a rebellion against the culture of rebellion. It’s a revolt against woke revolts. And that, in the end, is precisely why the tide is turning against woke leftism. If your whole worldview is rooted in rebellion and defiance, eventually, inevitably, inexorably, that rebellion and defiance will ultimately be directed against you. Hey, gang.
