And I am still seeing again and again and again and again, and let me know if this is the case for you, I’m seeing people in companies put their name. For example, you know, Brenda Smith, Vice President of Marketing, and then next to her name, it will say she her. Now I do have to note that I’ve never really seen a man put he him. Have you? It normally is the woman putting she her. Why that is, I don’t know, but it did put me in mind to bring you information. Speaking of California, how crazy it is in the University of California and how there are classes and initiatives to help stupid people like me figure out the difference between a man and a woman and how to refer to them in their correct pronoun state.
And I want to share with you what I think is even more important than pronouns and how this emphasis on the pronouns is really a giant step backwards. So we’re continuing our coverage on language. Let me know what you think about that. Are you in a company where they are requiring you to put he him she her it they them Caesar and all of that. I want to bring you a very brief story about my situation in the community college before I was similar summarily booted out during the hogwash. Well, I wouldn’t say I was booted out.
I’ll tell you what happened in just a moment. But I do want to bring a word speaking of word words. I want to bring a word from the sponsor of our show today. Friends, we’ve been talking about language, about phrases that drive me bonkers, phrases that drive you bonkers. And what is up with this emphasis on pronouns? Do you think that a day is going to come? And I hope it will, where we’re going to look back and laugh, hopefully instead of cry, at how absolutely absurd it is that grown men and women, if you understand what I’m saying, feel the need to put parentheses after their name and then put in their pronouns.
And I’ve noticed that it’s usually women putting in she, her, in other words, to tell you how they want to be referred to. So a pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun. So instead of saying Peggy is on YouTube, you can say she is on YouTube. And instead of saying, I watch Peggy’s videos, you can say, I watch her videos. So she and her are pronouns. Now, I have a deep dive for you coming up, where I look at the University of California’s program in order to program people into how to refer to, how do I put it, those that are challenged.
I don’t know how far I can go on this channel, mentally challenged, socially challenged, psychologically, intellectually, spiritually challenged, in that we don’t know how to refer to them. But the bigger point that I want to make is what is with the emphasis on pronouns, there is something much more important to emphasize in my book. And that’s what I’m about to share with you. So thank you so much for being on board. And let’s dive in. Oh, wait, there’s one more thing I forgot to tell you about my story. And when I was working at the community college, I may actually repeat the story.
But the very short scenario is that I was at a staff meeting, along with some teachers. And there was a woman giving a presentation telling us what we should include in our syllabus. And she said that we should put our name. And then in parentheses, we should put our preferred pronouns. Well, I looked at another teacher, she looked at me, we picked up our materials, and we walked out of that meeting. I was not going to sit there and be insulted with this type of situation where I was going to be compelled to put preferred pronouns after my name.
So I personally do not participate in that kind of hogwash. And I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, the most important action that you can take to defend your own freedom is an individual action, such as I did walking out of that meeting, I never put on my syllabus, she, her or Zee Zee or anything like that. So standing up, each of us standing up one by one, when the time calls for it is the best way that we can put an end to this tyranny. In my view, it is far more effective.
And it really is the only power that we have. So standing up and never giving in, giving up or giving over your freedom. The other thing that I wanted to let you know is that I’m going to be sharing with you this coverage about the University of California and their crazy program to educate people on the pronouns. And you’ll see that this information came from a previous video. And in the background, I have my lovely dear departed teddy bear. So if you would like to see her, here’s a photo of her, you’ll see her sleeping on the floor outside in the hallway when I am recording this video.
So I just wanted to let you know, in case you just stumbled across the video and you’re confused as to Teddy being in the video, this is why. So thank you everyone for all of your previous kind words of support and condolences in my time of bereavement. I very much appreciate it. So without further ado, let’s do the deep dive and find out what I believe is far more important than focusing on pronouns. Friends, what is with this emphasis and compulsion and preoccupation of preferred pronouns? Now, let me tell you that I’ve been an English teacher for most of my life.
And I also taught English as a second language. So when I would teach my students about pronouns and you would say, Tom is a man. He works at a company and his position is as a manager. So it’s very clear that Tom is a man and the pronouns, so the word he is a subjective pronoun. It replaces the word Tom and then his, that is a possessive pronoun and it replaces the word Tom’s. So instead of saying Tom’s job, I can just say his job and boy, oh boy, did I spend a lot of time teaching my students how to correctly use the pronoun of he and his when we’re talking about the, you know, that Tom and then we would have her and her, we would have she and her and hers when we’re speaking about the female.
And then when it is plural, you have they and theirs. Well, there’s a whole new way of language right now and I’m going to show you in just a moment what is going on at the University of California. California is first in so many ways. It is the first to have the shutdown in the pandemic. It’s the last to end the emergency. It is the first in so many ways and now the University of California has an entire, well, I’m going to show you how to solve this or have a much better idea than focusing on pronouns.
All right, here we go. Let’s hop right on over and we are going to go over to the LGBTQIA. I think it should just be, just put A to Z, like Amazon, A to Z, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, L, M, N, O, P. I think that would be easier. I can’t keep track of all. It’s just too many for me to keep track of. All right. So this is at UC Davis. All right. Pronouns and inclusive language. Below is a brief overview of pronouns and inclusive language. Oh, by the way, let me know in a comment below.
If you happen to work for a woke company and they want you to sign your emails with your name like Tom, and then underneath that you’re supposed to put he and his, like, isn’t that weird? Isn’t that childish? Isn’t it? Let me just say stupid. Yeah, it’s stupid. And I rarely use that word, but this is a good time to use it. So here we go. I’m sorry. It’s actually not funny. It’s very sad. This is by no means an exhaustive guide to, let me get the light up here, to treating trans people equitably.
We recommend that those who are interested in diving deeper attend our educational workshops. Boy, that would be interesting to attend. Pronouns are linguistic tools that we use to refer to people. For example, they, them, theirs, she, her, hers, he, him, his. All right. So that’s kind of simple. And if somebody that wants to, like, let’s say there’s a man that wants to dress like a woman and wants to be called she and her, you know what? That’s kind of like just the beginning. Hang onto your hats because you’re going to see what else they came up with.
All right. This is, I’m glad that I’m no longer an ESL teacher because I would not be able to keep all of this in order. Here we go. Here we go. So you can, it says, this is not an exhaustive list. Any combination is possible. So instead of saying she laughed or like Peggy laughed, you could say co laughed co C O and you could say N E N N laughed a, I don’t even know if I’m pronouncing it right or E he, she, they, they laughed. Even though it’s one person, you can call them they Z X I E.
Let me increase the size here. It’s quite, um, this is probably mentally ill. I think for people to engage in this kind of thing. So instead of being called he or her, they want to be called Z here, here, here’s here. Self. These are not English words. Yo, yo laughed, ask yo, huh? Z and V. Now here’s the example. Z reminded zer self to pick up zer umbrella before going outside. This is not the Babylon B. This is not Saturday night live. This is the university of California that my tax dollars go to pay for this sort of research.
Now you’re supposed to ask, what pronouns do you use? I’m Jade and my pronouns are Z and here. They don’t even match at least be Z and zer so I can keep it straight. And of course, if I miss speak, then I’m a, you know, I hate speech and probably I’m going to be arrested or something Leo. Okay. What pronouns would you like me to use Leo? I prefer they and them, but he is fine too. My pronoun is co who on God’s green earth is coming up with this nonsense. Now you’re not supposed to use the phrase preferred pronouns.
Oh, that’s, that’s like off limits now because you know, we need to police our own speech or a preferred name as these suggest an element of flexibility. Well, this guy just said, or girl or Jade wants to be called Z and here they don’t even match up. They don’t even match up in the category you gave me. Z is over here. So does this chart not work? Am I supposed to carry this around with me on a clipboard? So I, why do I have to do all the work? Why do I just like, why do I have to suffocate? Why do I have to be the pincushion? Why do I have to say co Z yo V someone’s it suggests that someone’s identity is less valid.
Someone’s name and pronouns are not suggestions and they’re not preferred over something else. They are inherent to who we are. Oh really? Well, I’m going to be doing a lot more videos on this mental illness because that’s what it is friends. Oh yeah, the gloves are off. I’m speaking the truth here. Time is running out. We don’t have time to pussy foot around this nonsense. Keep in mind that some people may use certain pronouns in some contexts and not in others. Well, you just told me that it’s not flexible. You just said that these pronouns are not flexible.
Now you’re telling me they are. This whole thing is ridiculous app. So I’ve got something better. Okay. Um, this whole thing. Oh, and then you’re not supposed to say, Hey ladies. And you can’t say, Hey guys, how are you guys doing? So like here on YouTube, I can’t say, Hey guys, I have to say, Hey everyone, or how are y’all doing? Well, isn’t that misappropriating the Southern culture, right? In California, we’re not supposed to speak Spanish anymore because we’re usurping the Mexican culture. All right. They are a first year freshmen. No, they is plural.
I’m not going to call he, they, I’m never going to do it. What say you make a habit of introducing yourself with your pronouns, not just an elemental P X, Y, Z specific situations. This makes sharing pronouns routine. Um, no, I’m not a child and I’m not going to say hello. My name is Peggy. And my pronouns are she, her, and hers because, um, I’m not going to do it. Yes. As a matter of fact, hashtag never have never will at the start of work meetings, make it a habit to go around the room and have everyone introduce themselves and the pronouns.
If they feel comfortable, this is like really, um, stupid and they’re already doing it. They are already putting in their email address, their name, and then their pronouns. So first of all, what have I made a mistake? What have I used the wrong pronouns? I don’t wrong. I want you to stop using the word wrong because I say so I identify as right. Oh, this is so stupid. And here’s what I want to say. I want, I want to say so many things. If somebody can identify as co, why can’t you identify as a jab? Just ask it.
Just ask it. I got a whole video coming up called just asking, because I have a lot of questions that I would like to ask. So if a person who is, um, has the chromosomes of X, Y, which is male, and they want to wear women’s clothes and be called Z, Z, or Z, they, L, M, N, O, P. Um, and everybody accepts that and they have to apologize if they got it wrong. Like, Oh gee, you have a five o’clock shadow and a massive jaw and big shoulders and giant hands. I’m sorry that I thought you were a man.
Um, and you know what? I have a great deal of compassion and I know people that, that are healthy Americans that actually are in this realm. But the fact is, why should I have to be the one that carries that burden of making a mistake? And if that person can say I’m a woman, then why can’t a pure blood say, I’m fully immunized. Just asking, just asking. All right, friends, here’s what I wanted to say. More important than pronouns. Why all the emphasis on pronouns? Why not emphasize adjectives? And I have my lovely, healthy American, Judy and Olivia to thank for that because they said to me that they would much rather talk about adjectives that describe themselves.
So why not talk about your cleverness or your curiosity or how hardworking you are or how kind and compassionate and creative. Those are adjectives that describe who you are. Doesn’t that have such more value? If that’s correct grammar, isn’t that so much more important than pronouns? What say you? Let me know your adjectives in a comment below. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for subscribing. Thanks for commenting and thanks for being on with me. I’m here bringing you my news analysis, my snark, and my how to’s to fight this tyranny and absurdity at every level.
See you soon, everybody. [tr:trw].
