Summary

➡ The speaker, Dan, is frustrated with the increasing expectation of tipping in various industries, from hotels to stadiums. He believes that tipping should be for those who provide exceptional service, like movers or repairmen, rather than being expected for basic services. He also criticizes the unfair distribution of tips in some places, where temporary workers don’t receive the tips given to them. Dan predicts that by 2025, people will be fed up and stop the widespread practice of tipping.

Hi, this is I, allegedly, I’m Dan. Welcome back. I’ve got a good one for you today because 2025 is going to be the year of no tipping. People are just fed up with it. And hit the like button, subscribe to the channel, there’s a lot of business news to cover as well. Plus, today we have a sponsor, Patriot Gold, and I will get into it. I am fed up with this. I’m fed up with tipping. I’m fed up with, you know, no difference. People have their hand out, which is okay, okay? But if you don’t want to, want to make more money, go do a job like, you know, moving luggage up to the hotel room.

That one, I’ve always thought people that carry luggage, the bellmen, bell women, that do this, they don’t make enough. And when they’re carrying bags, and if you go on a trip for an extended period of time, five, six days, and you get five, six, eight bags, you know, my computer, lighting equipment, all the stuff I carry with me, they deserve a tip for something like that. Now, Dr. Marvin sent me a great story about the Marriott Marquis and Marriott LaSalle in Bryan, Texas, about how when people get their room keys now, they get a recommendation slid in front of them on the tipping schedule, and what it should be for people checking in.

Now, it’s one thing. You want to get a better room in Vegas? Give them $20 when you walk up. Hey, what do you got? Now, if they can, 99% of the time, they’re gonna give you the best room they can possibly give you, because 99% of the people don’t give them anything. There’s that. But to sit there and to tip at a luxury hotel and be told you have to do this is insanity, guys. It’s too much. Two years ago, the Los Angeles Angels have a tipping schedule when you buy beers and hot dogs and everything, and you spend the thing around in front of you and ask you to click on it, and it’s even the ushers that deliver, I mean, the concessionaires that deliver up and down the aisles, they ask for tips all the time now, because it’s all electronic.

There’s no cash in the stadium. So with that, I’ve been asking about, you know, they asked for the tips. We give it to them. And then I said, Hey, when do you guys get these tips? And one man told me, I’m attempt. So I don’t get the tips. I no, no, no, I just tipped you 20% for our purchase. I don’t get that. That doesn’t go to me. It goes to everybody else. I said, You’ve got to be wrong. So I called the stadium and lost my mind with them and told them that I was going to get other season ticket holders together.

And collectively, they were going to give us our money back is what I told them. And whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down, slow down, Dan. So they start giving everybody their tips. So it doesn’t matter if you they’re the first day and you collect a tip because I’m not tipping somebody else and tip in the guy that gave us the the beers and gave us the hot dogs and sodas and everything. That’s, you know, hey, we want extra onions. We want jalapenos and, you know, a couple extra, you know, packets of relish, whatever, but that’s who you’re tipping.

Okay, but this has gotten out of hand. And I’m tired of going to the yogurt shop and bringing kids with me. Get what you want. And then they demand when you pay by credit card, that they spin it around, and they want you to give them a tip. Every place it’s like that. Now, if you don’t give a tip, you’re a pariah. You’re the worst person on the planet earth. If you don’t give a tip for a luxury hotel to check in, and they give you a sheet with a chip tipping schedule.

No, and Dr. Marvin said, I think you’re gonna like this one because it’s crazy. And he’s right. It’s nuts. So about that. That’s a big snowman on your roof. Very festive. I think they should leave it up in like, springtime and stuff and just have a snowman all the time. Anyways, that’s me. Are you sick of this? Because I am. Because I’m telling you, somebody does something nice. Somebody carries something for you. Somebody fixes something for you. You know, when I recently moved, you know, the company had movers there and I had cash lined up for everybody.

And you would have thought I, you know, gave them a million dollars and I didn’t. And I was like, you know, thank you so much. These guys worked for two days straight, carrying my crap and followed all of my rules that I wanted and did it. Okay, so shouldn’t they get a little extra for that? Yeah. Okay. Guy shows up works at the house, fixes a cabinet for me that has been nothing but problems. And with his expertise, okay, made it a 15 minute job. Wow. Oh, it’s a lot easier than you think once you set the spring and you do this, this and this.

Well, here we go. Here’s some, you know, extra cash for you. Wow, thank you. Nobody ever does that. Okay, that guy deserved it for that. But I’m paying for his expertise. Does that make sense? You point me in the direction of the fifth floor in my room at 151 and give me a plastic key. Well, here’s the tipping schedule, sir. Because you also sweet. That’s a nice room. You know, we should give us $80 apiece. That’s one thing. No, one thing that I was taught as a child, when you go to a hotel room, and, you know, every now and then I got to go with my dad and we would stay in a hotel room, we would just be rambunctious children, and we would make a mess.

They’re gonna clean it up. Well, at the end of the day, at the end of the trip, my dad would leave money on the counter. What’s that for? It’s for the tip for all the mess you kids made. Really? Is that what you do? Yeah, I leave so much a day. That’s how I was taught. But this whole thing of we tip wherever we go. No, I think it’s got to stop. And it’s got to stop in 2025. And this this really got me angry. And Dr. Marvin’s right about this, because it’s not I mean, you know, once you tip your doctor’s office, hey, listen, I cleared up your skin cancer and cut that, you know, that mole off.

Yeah, I saved your life. Isn’t that worth a couple extra hundred? Here’s my tipping schedule. You lose your mind with that. You know, it is people don’t have the money right now. People when they save to go out and go do things. It is a treat to go do this. But we’re supposed to tip everybody all the way around, all the way around. And the thing that pisses me off is that they get angry after the fact you don’t tip them. They’re pissed off. And it shows. And for that, don’t tip, you know, everywhere we go.

It’s one thing now. Here on the island, there’s a local little store. They sell soda sandwiches, all that stuff. And they have a cup, hey, listen, we’re raising money, if you could give a tip for the person’s cancer treatment, skin cancer treatment, it would be greatly appreciated. That’s different. You want to put money in the in the thing they’re going to give it towards this person, the doctor’s visits and the copays and all that shenanigans. But I’m telling you the, you know, Marriott LaSalle and Brian Texas pass, you know, send me that thing.

Every month I love coming by. A few more things that are interesting. Walmart is recalling broccoli in 20 states. Uh-oh. Listeria. Wash your stuff, guys. Wash your hands. Never kiss a girl with a sauna mouth. Come on, guys. Follow the rules. Follow the protocol. Okay. Jeez. Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and City Bank have all got rid of their climate backed programs. Huh. Climate? Is it not a problem anymore in 2025? Oh, it’s a new sheriff in town. Okay. Okay. There’s that. So, Meta, Facebook, has just decided that they’ve got rid of their left-wing person for a right-wing person that runs the same department.

Isn’t that interesting? Gosh, that’s just not an issue anymore. Really weird. 2025 is going to be the year of sunshine and and clean grapes, I guess. You know what I mean? Come on. Okay. Let me know. I said a lot without saying anything, if you know what I mean. Anyways, it’s all good. Okay. Making choices. As we hit 2025, we get all these different things in the news. The Surgeon General steps forward and says that too much alcohol is bad for you. Okay. What a shock. And they want to put cancer warning labels on alcohol now.

Beer, wine, booze, vodka, everything. Okay. Well, okay. If you do this in excess, it is bad for you. Okay. What a shock. Oh my gosh. Who knew? Who knew? Okay. A couple things that I love in the news. I’m sick of airlines and their horrible service. I told you guys about my Spirit, Frontier, American Airlines, and United Airlines. Now JetBlue just got fined two million bucks by the Department of Transportation. Two million dollars because of their poor service and lateness. And you guys, you want to see somebody stress out and have chest pains.

Look at people that are using an airline and have a second flight that they have to go to. They have a layover. And then an airline like JetBlue is late 45 minutes, an hour, and that two-hour layover is now 18 minutes. Better run. Okay. Well, the Department of Transportation finally is fining them right now for this. Two million dollars. So another story that’s great is Carvana. Carvana is owned by a company and they say that it’s a complete grift and that these guys have set up lending that’s illegal and all these different loans that they have written to themselves and cancel those just to make their finances look better than they are.

And they have done this to the tune of millions of dollars, but they’ve elevated the stock price and then insiders have sold the stock and made a tremendous amount of money off the shareholders that have lost money. So Carvana, the ultimate grift. Read that story below because I’ve never had any respect for Carvana ever since here in Southern California. They built one of those car garages without getting a building permit, which I still don’t know how they had the guts to do that. It was about to say a word. But what they did was think about it.

They tapped into the water, they tapped into the electrical and never got a building permit for that and built one of those things and told people they were just going to store automobiles there. And I thought, wow, these companies will do this. They’ll do anything. And sure enough, that’s what has been proven. So let me know what you think about good old Carvana. Now, a few things in the news that you’re going to hear more of in 2023 and that are all the cyber attacks. We keep getting cyber attacks. How about this one? State of Rhode Island, their social security department got hit with a cyber attack where they were demanding $23 million that they couldn’t afford to pay.

But all your records. If you or you know anybody that’s in the social security system in Rhode Island, I’m telling you guys, they have your data right now and you need to make sure you check your credit report and make sure that you protect yourself. Because they have everything, guys. Name, address, phone number, maiden name, all that stuff from the social security department. And again, when are these states, administrations, these different companies going to be held responsible for our data being pilfered like this? I mean, it’s got to end someday.

It’s got to be, you know, they have to be responsible at some point. So let me know what you think about that. State of Michigan just passed a law that says that you can no longer ask people all these different Senate bills, Senate bill 205, 206, House Bill 406-2. You can’t ask people where their money comes from when they have rental units. Okay, hello? That seems insane. Well, no, what it’s to protect you is if you’re on a housing voucher or if you’re on one of the low-income schedules, they can’t ask you about that.

Okay, that’s fine. What if someone’s a heroin salesman, okay? And I just get them a pay in cash. No, you know what I mean? So I get a kick out of some of these things. They’re designed to protect people’s rights at a certain point. But when you have things like this, I mean, come on, guys. It’s kind of crazy, don’t you think? So again, 2025, guys, a lot of changes coming. Let me know what you think about this stuff so far. One thing that we talked about early last year was would you use a bank run by Elon Musk? I’m telling you guys, it was a huge number of people.

80% of the people said they would go to the bank of Elon. Well, X money is about to start. It’s going to happen in early 2025 as a payment platform. And it’s going to be fast. It’s going to be easy, low fees. And this is why places like MasterCard and Visa are upset about this. Because I’m telling you guys, if you run a substantial business, guys, I had years what I would do, 800, $900,000 in credit card transactions. And the banks, back then, you could negotiate. Hey, listen, we’re going to leave. You could get credit advances.

Hey, I need $25,000 tonight. And they would put it in your account. There’s a lot of cool things you could do. If he pulls this off, X money, this will be huge. But again, think about this, guys. Don’t go get a credit line. You don’t have to go out and do this stuff. You don’t have to deal with a bank. You would deal with X. And it’s going to be put right in your bank account. So will he have an actual banking system? Who knows? But a payment system to start? That’s everything, guys.

So please let me know what you think. Don’t forget to hit the Like button. See Mr. Snowman to close this out. Don’t forget to hit the Like button. Subscribe to the channel.
