This is Moscow, Idaho, and it’s at the center of a massive movement to actively build a conservative, thriving, and authentically Christian America. And the movement is absolutely booming. I’m Dr. Steve Turley, your patriot professor, and we’re going to see where and how christian patriots are effectively restoring a culture of faith, family and freedom, and how they plan for that culture to take over the entire nation.

Theocracy. It isn’t a word you often hear in american politics these days. But given the religious rhetoric coming from some republican candidates this year, it doesn’t feel as far fetched or hyperbolic as it would have been in the past. The legacy media is beginning to realize that a widespread and formidable force is rising up all across the country, and it’s threatening to dethrone left wing wokeness from the levers of cultural power christian nationalism.

Once thought dead and buried with the fall of the religious right, christian nationalism today is frankly surging. From patriot sermons and pulpits all across the south to young fire brands like Marjorie Taylor Green and Lauren Boebert. From California congregations refusing to shut down during the COVID lockdowns, to christian patriots taking over entire counties, Christian America is back, with more and more pastors and politicians exhorting the faithful to rise up against the horrors of secular wokeness and reestablish a sacred public square.

And that vision appears to be spreading like wildfire. Pew researchers were stunned to find out recently that a full 45% of Americans believe that the United States should be considered overtly as a christian nation. And a recent study from the Public Religion Research Institute found that 30% of the 5000 respondents they surveyed across the country believe the US law should be based on christian values. But nowhere is christian nationalism booming quite like in that part of the country that’s increasingly being known as the american readout.

Consisting of five states, Idaho, eastern Washington, eastern Oregon, Montana, and Wyoming, the readout is a mass migration of patriots from all across the country and even from around the world, who have come to live together and deliberately build a faithful and flourishing christian society. Since it was originally proposed by author and former military intelligence officer James Wesley rawls back in 2011, conservative Christians have been flocking to these states by the tens of thousands, with reports of rising local property prices as well as burgeoning conservative political activism throughout the states.

At the heart of this christian renewal is the bustling college town of Moscow, Idaho. Nestled in the north Panhandle about an hour and a half southeast of Spokane, Moscow has traditionally been one of Idaho’s few liberal blue dots in the midst of a sea of red. Well, that is, until Christchurch moved into town. Led by Pastor Doug Wilson, the church’s membership has skyrocketed and now, together with its affiliate churches, makes up over 10% of the town’s population.

And this is largely because, under Wilson’s guidance, the church has built the basic infrastructure for a flourishing christian society, a k to twelve classical school that restores the education of our founding fathers, centered on theology, Latin, and the great books a classical college providing a four year, high quality liberal arts degree and a congregation consisting of enterprising entrepreneurs who bought up a number of commercial premises on Main street, that basic social structure is indeed flourishing.

Scores of families have flocked to Moscow to see their children schooled in the finest education in America. Actually, according to Wilson’s figures, a recent census study revealed that 35% of school age children in Moscow are being educated in conservative christian schooling or homeschooling. And at this rate, in just the next decade or so, the woke secular public schools are actually going to be a minority in Moscow. But that’s just where things begin.

Many graduates go on to get married and settling down in Moscow, working in one of the growing christian business ventures in town, and looking forward to reaping the massive multi generational blessings to come. But that success is making liberals in the legacy media very, very upset. Wait until you see this. With everything going on right now, it’s hard to say what could happen or what will happen. It’s hard to envision how that might happen. I think it would be wonderful if it did.

So. If there were a reformation and a revival, that’s something we pray for regularly. And if what is happening here caught fire and spread elsewhere, I would be very, very grateful. Now, what so obviously escapes the secular perspective of the legacy media’s reporting is the answer to the fundamental question, why? Right. Why is a particularly patriotic and public Christianity very political or better civilizational Christianity rising and rising so quickly and overwhelmingly? Well, the answer is actually rather simple.

It’s because such Christianity is indeed wedded indelibly into the very fabric of our nation. Back in 1892, Justice David Brewer, in a landmark Supreme Court decision, made the official declaration that the United States is, quote, a christian nation. Brewer cited several state and national supreme Court cases that used the christian heritage of the United States as a rationale to support their judicial decision. So, for example, he cited two blasphemy cases in which the courts recognized that Christianity was indeed the professed religion of the american republic, such as when the Pennsylvania Supreme Court stated that Christianity is and has always been a part of the common law of Pennsylvania.

In fact, the very first public school textbook printed in this country was called the New England Primer. Published in 1777, it taught children to recite morning and evening prayers, as well as to memorize the apostles Creed and the Puritan Westminster. Shorter catechism. But something happened in the mid 20th century that really changed all of this. Prior to the year 1940, the phrase separation of church and state, you know that phrase that was first used by Thomas Jefferson in his letter to the Danbury Baptist in 18 two? It was referenced only a handful of times by Supreme Court decisions.

But something happened after 1940. Suddenly, the court turned hostile to Christianity. In the decades following, the Supreme Court has referenced the separation between church and state literally thousands of times. However, despite the radical secularization that’s eclipped our nation over the last few decades, conservative, patriotic, vibrant Christianity, the very Christianity rooted in our puritan forefathers who dedicated this land to almighty God, has continued unabated. Having been forced underground, its seeds are once again rising up, and as you can see, they’re blossoming and now flourishing.

And so it does appear that christian patriotism is indeed back. And if what’s happening in Idaho and throughout the american redoubt is any indicator, the sounds of sacred celebrations heralding that return will indeed eventually echo everywhere.
