Biden. Biden. Shout out to Keisha from the DMV. Meetup time really does translate well in person. I told y’all, I’m the same person that I am. Actually, I’m more of who I am in person than what you see me online. A lot of people be out here capping in front end and they be hensive and that’s why you only ever see them online and they don’t really come out the house.
I come and kick it with y’all in real life. I love y’all in real life. So I can’t wait to the meetups. Yeah, we got meetups coming this year. I’m going to announce those very soon. They said adviden is shouting and swearing and going off on his own staff because of his recent poll numbers that show that he’s losing support amongst black people and voters at large. Now, I know that y’all gonna say, anton, you don’t necessarily care for the Biden administration and shout out to you, I’m gonna read that super chat shortly.
And you always biased because you more conservative. Well, I didn’t actually get this story from Fox or any conservative outlet. All of the outlets that first started reporting on this, this news story broke with MSNBC and NBC. This started with the liberal news networks. So you know it gotta be true. If they not supporting a number one guy, Biden. Let’s get into it. Make sure to share this with y’all, friends and family.
When President Biden kicks off a multi day campaign swing this week, he’s going to be doing shout out to DeMarcus Reed of newly earned campaign cash. But he’s reportedly carrying some political baggage as well. NBC News interviewed nearly 20 lawmakers, administration officials, and Biden allies who say, quote, frustrations rippling through the party have reached the top with Biden at times second guessing travel decisions and communication strategies that have left much of the electorate clueless about his record.
And joining me now, republican strategist Susan del Persio, former White House press secretary for President Obama, Robert Gibbs and Jennifer Palmari, former communications director to president Obama and campaign advisor to Hillary Clinton. I’m glad that you guys are with us. We’ve got a great panel. Jen, let me start with you. Our sources, as we just reported, tell my colleagues that President Biden has recently lashed out at some of his staff given his successes, passing bills and improving the economy.
Quote, Biden was irritated his message was not sinking in with a broader electorate. So is he right to be second guessing given his low approval ratings and polls right now. I was in Wisconsin recently, and when it comes to infrastructure, the ChipS act and some others, a lot of those who support the present or have in the past really aren’t familiar with some of his biggest successes to this point.
I think that’s because you can’t get those kinds of successes to break through in this media environment without paid media. And the good news for the president is that he has raised a lot of money and that the campaign, you see this now both on television and in digital, and they are targeting their media for specific accomplishments to specific demographics. And with all the targeting tools that are available to you now and the different media ecosystems, you’re able to do that.
I understand why he’s frustrated, given everything that he’s accomplished and where poll numbers still are. Poll numbers are a curious thing. I don’t think people really are going to numbers when you expect that to move will be late, much later than the president would like, probably the summer, maybe even know. But what’s great about Biden is he asked a lot of questions. I worked in the Obama White House.
I worked with him. He asked a lot of questions. You call it second guessing. He pushes. This is like something he does. But he’s also a loyal boss and he knows not to undermine the team. Right? So fine, ask a lot of questions, be frustrated, but he’s not undermining the team. I want to ask you about this if I can, Robert, for a second. The number, what? $53 million, just raised 155,000,000 or so cash on hand right now.
We just heard from Jen a little bit about the, who’s putting all of this money in his vault. They said that he’s one of the biggest. He’s raising more money than any president in history. February Hall, $53 million Democrats vote is 155,000,000 compared to the republican vote of $40 million. Who is giving all of this money over into the Biden administration and campaign? Jesus. I see people in the chat saying that Biden might have dementia.
You all think that he got dementia? For real? Do y’all think that his memory is shot, that he actually got dementia? They say that he go to the doctor on a regular basis. And they say the doctors say, oh, no, the Biden administration and Joe Biden is actually in good health. Doesn’t matter how many times that he fumbles his words. Don’t matter how much time, how many times he stumble up to the steps.
Do you all think that he actually losing his memory and that he got dementia competitive advantage? That gives you the ability to buy the paid media, where you get to go around the media and speak directly to Americans via commercials and other advertising right now. But you’ve been through this before. What does the White House need to do now to help benefit itself in getting its message out? They haven’t been able to amplify this message in the way that they believe they should have to this point.
Well, I agree with Jen. It starts with using a pile of, that big pile of money and putting it directly in front of voters, showing them what’s happened, showing them how that impacts them, and then constantly reminding them day after day from now until Election Day, those two money figures that you showed, that’s a structural advantage right now for this White House. We read over the weekend stories of, really the Trump campaign scurrying to try to desperately raise money, knowing they’re getting farther and farther behind as donors worry more and more about whether their contributions are going to a campaign or to pay Trump’s legal bills.
But look, I also read that longer story. I think the tension that is being talked about in that story is the good tension. I think the president wanting to be out there talking to voters, campaigning every day. I think that’s the kind of excitement Democrats want to feel from the White House and the campaign and from the president. And I think, look, we’ve got a long way to go.
They’re not going to fix all of this in a day or in a week. We saw that in 2012. It’s a long game. And I think they’ve got a good plan to play that long game. Susan, I want your take on this. Let’s spend a block real quick. Let’s go over to NBC News instead of MSNBC and see what they got to say about this whole thing. All right, make sure y’all hit a like for the algorithm.
We are getting this new reporting about the Biden campaign and about president. Shout out to Queen. I’m going to read that super chat and how he is taking, especially all of these polls which show him in some cases, losing to former President Trump. Basically, our reporting says that Biden has grown angry and anxious about his reelection efforts. Simone, is that what you’re hearing in your conversations with, oh, not ej again.
And we know that. Okay, let me find out what this woman’s name is. Not EJ. That was, that was like, just blurted it out because that was the first thing that came to my mind based off of the fact that we was doing a live stream from yesterday. So we know that these people are in Biden’s camp. I haven’t seen this. I want to see what they got to say.
All right. I were running for election against a person like Donald Trump, who has as many issues as he has and has committed as many alleged acts of criminality as he has. And you saw polls that said I was losing to him. Even I would be like, well, what is going on here in America? And so I have heard the frustration from Democrats, but also that they do believe there is time and opportunity to get their message out now that it is a one on one.
Trump and Biden make that contrast so that folks understand their choice come November. He’s got to drive the message, though. Biden’s got to make the case every day against Trump, almost as though he’s more of the challenger than the incumbent. Right. He’s got to sort of do that, prosecute the case against Trump. How do you do that from the Oval Office? That’s a challenge. I think you have to have an army of surrogates out there helping you every day.
And I think you also have to try to get out there and do it yourself more aggressively. But there’s so many examples. Just take the TikTok case, where Trump changes his mind on banning TikTok, clearly in part because of the influence of a billionaire with a stake in TikTok. If you’re a Democrat, how do you not scream that from the rooftop? This is brazen corruption, but where is that aggressiveness? I think it still remains brazen corruption.
It’s to be seen if Biden can’t prosecute the case, why are we talking about Biden prosecuting a case? Listen to the rhetoric that you’re hearing from people on the liberal side. They’re basically saying that, listen, we want Biden to win this election by default because we want to take it out of the hands of the voters, of determining who their leader is, regardless of whether or not you agree or disagree with whoever it is that you are against or you’re for.
And they want to take this out of the hands of the voters. Why would politicians have to sell us this hard and spend billions of dollars to convince us? What does the president make? Half a million dollars a year. Right? Because they’re a public servant. They make a half a million dollars a year, yet they spend over a billion dollars throughout the election to ultimately get inside of the White House.
And that’s not even including special packs and things like that. Man. I just think that this system is just so corrupt. It’s probably the best system in the world, but it’s still corrupt itself. The fact that they trying to buy an election or even in this case at this point prosecute for an election, you got to try to figure out like how old is Biden in his late 80s.
What else does he have to gain for this legacy? It ain’t money. It’s not like you’re going to be around that much longer or that you can even really enjoy it or anything like that. What else do you have to gain from this to win this election? Why are you so passionate about prosecuting this guy? Why are you going after this guy? Why are you swearing at your campaign staff and getting angry at these people for your poll numbers and you not really resonating with the people because you’re not connected enough to understand that the thing that’s really meaningful to the people, look, it’s two things that’s meaningful to people.
Two things that’s meaningful to people. As far as voters. A is always going to be their ability to survive. That’s their ability to provide for themselves, shelter, food, car, note. Right? And people don’t even ask for a lot, right? Nobody is really asking to get rich, but what they’re asking for is the basic necessities or the opportunity to be able to provide for themselves. So I think that most Americans, even though I think that it’s a lot of people that’s lazy, I think that most Americans just want opportunity.
They want the opportunity too. If they work hard, that they’re able to achieve the american dream and that it doesn’t go to waste because they’re being overtaxed or they’re having to deal with social services or the cost of living is not extraordinary or it doesn’t absolutely drain everything that you take home. I think that most people just want the opportunity to be able to win if they choose to.
Whatever it is that you put into it, you get out of it. That’s the true american dream, right? If you don’t put none into it, you don’t get nothing out of it. And I think that the second thing that people are really concerned about is the migrant crisis. And on both fronts, this administration has failed. They can throw as many numbers as they want to as far as jobs and economics and all of this stuff.
But the reality is people want an opportunity to have their dollar stretch and for them to be able to live the american dream. They want to be able to buy their own home and afford it. They don’t want their taxes to explode. They don’t want insurance providers to be leaving the state. They want to be able to go to the grocery store and provide for their family. They don’t want to have to have two people in a household making $100,000 a year in order for them to just survive and still live paycheck to paycheck.
And then the second thing is, they don’t want the migrant crisis to ultimately affect their opportunities that come along with what the american dream is supposed to be. It’s simple. It’s very simple. Very simple. And when you see news stories that come out, like yesterday, as far as Tyson looking to hire 52,000 migrants, well, that’s what they supposed to do. Large corporations are supposed to cut costs, improve efficiency.
And however the way they do that, they have no obligation to anybody except for the shareholders in order to make as much profit as possible. And so if they see an opportunity, they’re going to take advantage of it. It’s as simple as that. People want to accomplish the american dream. They don’t want all of their money to go over to the federal government and then go to social services, and then they don’t want people to come in and take over and replace them in their own neighborhoods and a cities.
And for there to be an extraordinary amount of crime and defunding the police and then making it less safe for your daughter to go to school, that’s it. People are not asking for a whole lot. Do you know what disappeared? People completely remove the reparations conversation out of the equation. Nobody talks about reparations anymore. A year ago, two years ago, that was all of the talk. Reparations, reparations.
Black people deserve it. People ain’t even talk about no, they don’t even want no handouts no more. They just like, yo, fam, let me go to work, make my money, not be overtaxed. And they’d be able to get to the bag and buy some groceries. They don’t even care about nothing except for being able to survive. Listen, I don’t want to live van life. I don’t want to live in a micro home.
I ain’t trying to be evicted. I ain’t trying to be homeless. Just give me the basic necessities. Let my daughter to be able to go to school. I don’t want to get robbed. Give us some police officers to make sure that we safe, and let’s keep it moving and make sure that the migrants don’t come in here and kick my butt. That’s all they’re asking for. They’re not asking for nothing crazy, just the base six.
You can forget reparations. They still throwing monies just to do the studies, knowing they had a deficit and ain’t giving you nothing. But you still going to continue to do it?.
