So, I spend a lot of time on the road, and if you follow this channel, you’re well aware of that. I’m out in the Mojave desert right now, literally making this video off the back of my truck. Because, something that I take very seriously on the road is security, electricity, and water, among other things. But electricity because it keeps all of my devices going, and one of the things I really count on is solar power. Now, solar isn’t just for overland travel. Solar also covers your butt if there’s some sort of a freak of nature accident which has been happening absolutely everywhere, almost every day, all over the United States.

Like this for instance. This is out in Missouri right now. I just drove through 17 inches of rain in Oklahoma, and I was able to stay behind the storm. But I mean, this is insane. This is crazy. Now, the reason I’m making this video is because Renee, the owner of Off Grid Trek, hit me up and he’s doing a 20% off till December 3rd. I have no affiliation with Off Grid Trek other than I’ve used them for eight years. In the day and age that we live in, having solar is smart.

And most companies, as you can see, are made in China. There’s a huge difference. Everything from Off Grid Trek is either made in Canada or made in the United States of America. And that’s a fact. While everybody else is putting out 12 and 24 volts, their solar panels literally put out 48 volts. It’s insane. It’s insane. They can literally keep my 200 amp hour lithium batteries in my truck charts at all times, which is phenomenal and something that my two solar panels couldn’t do. Now I only run one because that’s all I need.

But check this out. So if you already want to get Off Grid Trek, but you couldn’t afford it till December 3rd, and I’m sure he’ll extend it a little longer if you need him to, use the code Black Friday 20 and you’ll get 20% off the solar blankets, the Faraday bags and cables. Now these are amazing, made in Canada or made in America. And these, the reason I use these things is because they’re literally bulletproof. You can shoot these things. You can drive over these things. You don’t even need to have sun and these things work.

And I’m not hyping that up. It’s an absolute fact. I have no monetary ties to this. I don’t gain anything if you order. I just use the product and I firmly believe in it. And Renee’s one of us. He’s a good dude, man. And with everything that’s going on, having solar around right now would be smart and he’ll get these to your door in two or three days. That’s also amazing. I don’t know how he does it, but he does. But check this out. So I’m currently out in the Mojave Desert. I’m by Calico, the Calico Trail, Calico Caves, Old Ghost Town, et cetera.

Tomorrow’s Thanksgiving. And the last couple of weeks I got really distracted because every time I turned around, my truck’s transfer case was leaking. And after finally getting that squared away, I started my road trip. And one thing I wanted to really stress here plus they’re on sale is off-grid trucks, sick, sick solar panels. I mean, I’ve never had solar, I’ve had solar panels for 13 years and these actually, you can drive over them. You can shoot holes in them. There doesn’t even have to be sunlight out. As long as it’s daylight, these things produce a charge.

Now here’s why off-grid trucks, solar panels are head and shoulders above all others. Even with minimal sun, minimal sun. This thing is still producing juice. I’ve got two Merlin solar panels on top and the off-grid truck blows them away by a lot. If you put your hand in front of one of the Merlins, they stop producing. This thing is basically in regular daylight, no sunlight at all, and it’s still putting out juice. No two ways about it. The literal best solar panels you can possibly buy and I’m not sponsored. This is just my opinion.

So there is that. As you can see right here, I’m parked so that I’m in the shade. You know what I mean? When you’re in a black truck, you want to be in the shade. Well, the problem with that is my off-grid truck solar panel up top that actually puts out 48 volts, which is astonishing. It puts out 48 volts. But still, like if you look at my truck right now, I’m literally charging. Well, I’ll take a look. Two razor blade pros, an 18 inch and a 17 inch. My refrigerator, I’m charging the batteries for my mountain bike, which are serious, made in Germany, Lupine batteries.

These things eat some juice. You know what I’m saying? I’m charging all these, but the problem is the truck isn’t actually getting full sunlight off the top. So what I do is I simply go up here to my top shelf and I grab that bad Larry right there. And I’m gonna show you how easy it is to set up and swap over the power from the rooftop solar panel to the ground solar panel simply by pulling this Anderson plug. Pull this one. I plug the other one in. Well, you know what? I’ll show you.

How’s that? Here we go. So to celebrate my birthday in Thanksgiving, I went out to the middle of the desert and I found the most apocalyptic looking place I possibly could. And I thought, you know what? This would be a good place to set up. So I did. But I didn’t want to be in the scorching sun, but also I’m using my electronics heavily. So I don’t want to overtax the truck. Plus I wanted to show you how easy it is to deploy one of these solar blankets. These are 300 watt solar blankets and these are beyond military spec.

The guy that owns this company used to work for the United States military. That’s how he knows how to do this. So here we go. Check this out. The first thing that’s awesome about this is that I can fit this on the rear shelf in my truck because it’s that big. It’s the size of an old LP. Remember those vinyl records? And then I grab the cable and then I stare at the camera menacingly and then I simply find a spot that’s nice and sunny. I unravel the blanket, which is very easy because it folds in three manners.

It’s a tri-fold blanket. Simply lay it out. Lay it out just like this. Grab the cable real quick and simply plug it in. And these are made out of American made Anderson plugs, which is phenomenal. Highest quality you can possibly get. Renee does not pull any punches on anything whatsoever at all. And notice, absolutely no butt crack at all. You see that? No butt crack. That’s right. And then stare menacingly at the camera. And then all I got to do is plug this other Anderson cable, Anderson plug, right into my truck because it plugs into the same plug as the solar on top of the my rooftop tent.

Now all of this can work easily in a backpack in your vehicle at your house. These 300 watt solar panels or solar blankets are no joke whatsoever at all. And like I said, they’re expensive because they’re expensive. This is the real deal. This is real technology. And I’ve used these things everywhere. Rocks, water, rain, animals walking across it. It doesn’t matter. These aren’t flimsy glass ones that can fall over and break. You know what I mean? These are top of the line. And the fact that he’s doing 20% off just to help people out because he’s not he’s not dying for sales.

He’s that kind of a guy, which is why I do videos for him whenever he asks or whenever it seems like a good time. And this right now is a good time. Look at the size of this thing. You know what I mean? That’s it right there. 300 watts of solar right there. Look at that fist. Look at that. Look at the size. It’s beautiful. Look at that. Look at that. Making solar panels great again. But wait, there’s one more. These solar panels not only are supplying me with the juice I need for all seven of these devices, including a Starlink to make this video, but he’s got a setup that will actually charge an e-bike directly from the solar panels.

Or you can simply use it to charge up a Blue Yeti or any of the number number of large solar generators. You know what I mean? Which are just basically battery packs. But he’s also got portable ones that work better than anything I’ve ever seen before. Same military quality, same specs, same everything is the big ones, but they’re smaller. So I figured I’d throw that in there for you to take a peek at. This little solar panel is literally charging an iPhone 14 and two battery packs at the same time.

These solar panels have a gauge on it so you can see how much voltage it’s actually producing. And it’s got two fast USB plugs on it because Renee is just that awesome. This is a really good setup. And here’s one more thing I didn’t even think to mention. If you don’t have dual batteries like I do, you can still take the solar controller and wire it directly to your main battery on your vehicle and it’ll keep it charged all day and all night. Which is a pretty nice feature. I’ve almost forgot about it completely.

At any rate, I’m out in the desert. This video is getting too long. I got to upload it with a star link that’s eating power ironically. So Black Friday 20, off-grid trek, the sale goes on until December 3rd. Let Renee know I sent you. Just so he knows. Or don’t. Your call. At any rate, I’m out. [tr:trw].
