Summary
➡ Guns & Gadgets 2nd Amendment News discusses how many people think Donald Trump will be the Republican choice for president, even though he’s had some tough times in politics. A well-known person who studies polls, Frank Luntz, thinks Trump has a good chance to win the next election.
➡ Ron DeSantis is competing against Trump. He didn’t do as well as Trump in the Iowa vote, losing by thirty points, but he’s still trying hard in his campaign. Some Republicans are now supporting Trump, thinking he will be their nominee. Even though they liked DeSantis, they think it’s more important to get ready for the big election.
➡ Tommy Lahren used to support DeSantis, but now she’s saying Republicans should support Trump. She believes it’s better to work together for the general election instead of splitting the party when it’s so important.
➡ Nikki Haley has supporters who are Democrats, neoconservatives, and divorced women who aren’t liberal. These people might help her do well in the New Hampshire primary, maybe even getting second place.

Guys and gals, this is a struggle bus day. You’ll see the background’s not working. Why? Because the Internet is out. We’ve had an icy couple days here in Tennessee and the infrastructure is not ready for it. So Internet’s out again.
So we’re going to upload this with cellular. So this could take a long time to get to you. We’re going to push forward anyway. Here we go. All right, I just got off the phone with my budy, Louis Valdez, who’s the gun owners of America, state director for Florida, and he had been working with state Representative Beltran. I’m gonna have to actually look at my notes, so you have to forgive me because Internet’s out.
So Lewis was working with Representative Mike Beltran and they submitted a campus carry bill and an open carry bill, and it’s house bill 1619. What it looked to do, among other things, the main parts that I liked about it was that it was going to repeal Florida’s ban on open carry, as well as allow remove the prohibition, rather, for concealed carry holders carrying on college and university campuses.
It was great. Bill, I can’t link it down below because I can’t get to the link right now. Man, you don’t realize how much you rely on the Internet when you do this here for a living. But the House speaker, whose name is Paul Renner, he has come out here in the last, I think it was yesterday, he has come out and said that you know what? The bill is dead on arrival.
The Florida Republic, he’s a Republican. Florida Republicans are killing an open carry bill in Florida. I’m going to have you watch this, that I, hopefully this works. Watch this. Clip from renner because you’re going to hear this. You’re going to hear I support the second amendment, but you’re going to see the but in there as well because it’s annotated. Check this out. We’ll be right back. Well, I’m a supporter of the second amendment across the board in many aspects, but we’re in the same legislature, same members we had last year.
There’s not an appetite in both chambers to get that done. I support it personally, but we always have to measure whether it’s worth the committee time, the House floor time to pass a bill that would be controversial, that would take a lot of time that we know is dead on arrival. And I respect, as the Senate president respects some areas that I mentioned in education where there’s some red lines for me that I just can’t take it.
I’ll light myself in fire. And so many of the people standing behind me on some of these things that really go to the core of accountability. And there’s some senators that feel that way and I respect that. So we’ll have a respectful disagreement. All right. So what I hear immediately is we don’t want to work hard enough to get this bill passed. And I also know a few things that I learned from talking with Lewis that I’m going to tell you as well, that should make your head spin if you live in.
Okay, so we know that the Senate president, Kathleen whatever her last name was, she’s against the bill. Okay. And because there are Republicans in the Florida state legislature who are running for other positions, they’re campaigning, they don’t want to be seen like they’re anti gun because Florida’s vote on gun issues basically determines elections. For instance, Florida’s governor, Ron DeSantis, won re election here on this term that he’s in now for governor.
Why? Because he finally said, all right, I’ll sign a constitutional carry bill. And it got to his desk and he finally did sign it. Not a perfect bill, but it is a step in the right direction. Now goa Luis Valdez, they did get DeSantis on camera last year saying that he actually was in support of open carry, but he didn’t want to spend political collateral on it if there wasn’t a bill.
Well, now there’s a bill, but Olran has been silent. Crickets partly because he’s term limited, partly because he is campaigning for president. So in some ways, maybe he doesn’t care anymore because he doesn’t have a state election to win. Yeah, maybe that’s not the case, but that’s how it’s going to look for him. And then you have to keep this big, wide view of Florida as well. Many of the people who are still in office, Republicans are directly responsible for all of the gun control that they put in as law in the post Marjorie Stoneham Douglas incident.
Okay, so those old goats are still in office. And there is no way they’re going to pass any law that is going to undo what they work so hard to achieve because of feelings. So those are some major hurdles for Florida because your republicans hate you. They hate that freedom thing. They just want tourist dollars. And for y’all to be quiet, you got some of these people who are campaigning for higher office.
And like I said, if there’s no voting record on a gun bill, then they don’t look bad. So what they’re doing is they’re killing this bill so that they don’t have to vote on it. Therefore, they don’t vote no on a pro gun bill and it hurts them in their future election. That is the truth of what’s going on. There are a lot of Florida Republicans that favor gun control.
Florida voters need to get a hold, a stranglehold on their state legislature again, because it’s been infiltrated by blue Republicans who favor restricting the second amendment. Now, I will say that we do not get our rights from government. And 2024 is going to shake the government to its core because people have had enough of the bullshit. And you’re going to see some things with all these elections where people are going to change the way things are done.
Guys and gals, we the people are the bosses. We have the power. The political people are not our bosses. We’re their bosses. And the faster we realize that and get back involved, things change immediately. Florida, your open carry and campus carry bill is dead on arrival. You can thank all of your Republicans who favor gun control. Guys, link is down below. Join gun owners of America. It’s in the description of every one of mine.
Support those who support you. And Lewis, thank you, man. I would have brought him on today, but I have no Internet. So let’s see how long it takes us to upload. Now, be safe, stay vigilant, and carry a gun to keep you, your friends, your family, your community safe. Appreciate you all. We’ll see you in the next one. Take care. .
